"What's a donut, anyway?" The old man eyed the round pastries; never mind the taste, the mere appearance was enough to capture his full attention.
"At least you know how to respect your elders, kid. Leave the stuff and be on your way."
Tang Rao placed the donuts on the table, hummed a little tune, and walked out without another word.
"These things look so delicious!"
No sooner had Tang Rao left than the old man used his Inner Strength to draw the box of donuts into his hand.
Opening the box, the donuts inside looked freshly made, still retaining a bit of that just-baked warmth.
He took the pinkest donut and took a bite. The sweetness seeped deep into his senses, thoroughly satisfying his taste buds.
Without realizing it, he had one bite, then two, and soon one donut, then two, and it still didn't feel enough. He went ahead and devoured the entire box.
He had never tasted anything so delicious before.
