Chapter 181 - Blazing Tide versus Disaster Dragon I

After the first bout, the Rising Heroes were one down against Eternal Wings. The pressure inside the arena only kept increasing as the second bout was about to begin.

Ifa loudly announced, "And for the next bout between the Rising Heroes and Eternal Wings, from Eternal Wings, the 'Disaster Dragon' Ysellia! And from the Rising Heroes, the 'Blazing Tide' Lila!"

The crowd erupted with cheers immediately.

Shai followed calmly, "A wonderful matchup. Both fighters are dual-element users. Lila uses fire and water, while Ysellia uses wind and water. The question now is simple… will Eternal Wings continue their lead, or will Lila strike back for the Rising Heroes? Let's find out."

Both fighters stepped forward.

Lila tightened her grip on her spear.

Ysellia slowly raised her double-edged sword.

Their eyes locked onto each other.

And then both moved at the exact same moment.

'Fireball.'

Lila launched a blazing fireball while rushing forward.

'Skyrend.'

Ysellia released a compressed slash of wind.

Both attacks collided midair, creating a burst of smoke across the battlefield.

The smoke was instantly split apart.

CLANG!

Ysellia's sword collided directly against Lila's spear.

Sparks flew everywhere.

Then from Ysellia's free palm 'Gusty Gale.'

A compressed burst of wind slammed directly into Lila's torso.

Ysellia twisted her palm sharply, and the force launched Lila backward.

But Ysellia did not stop there.

As Lila was still airborne, Ysellia flew alongside her and swung her sword again.

Lila quickly rotated her spear and barely blocked the strike using the shaft of the weapon.

The moment her feet touched the ground, she jumped farther away to create distance.

Ysellia immediately continued her offense.

'Heaven Splitter.'

A powerful blade of wind shot toward Lila from Ysellia's sword swing.

'Flare Javelin.'

Lila thrust her spear forward, releasing condensed fire from its tip like a piercing projectile.

The two attacks collided once again.

This time Lila did not rush in.

But Ysellia kept pressing forward relentlessly.

She flew directly towards Lila while continuously swinging her sword.

Lila matched her movement, dodging and blocking with quick spear movements.

Soon the battlefield was filled with rapid exchanges between spear and sword.

Clang after clang echoed throughout the arena.

Then both fighters suddenly leapt backward at the same time, creating distance once more.

'Deepwater Lance.'

Lila fired a pressurized beam of water from her spear.

Ysellia calmly raised one hand.

'Falling Tide.'

A heavy downward slash filled with crushing water pressure descended forward.

The attacks collided violently.

Water exploded everywhere.

For a few moments both fighters held their ground against each other's pressure.

But slowly Ysellia began overpowering Lila.

Realizing that, Lila quickly withdrew and rushed forward again for close combat.

Ysellia did not allow her to approach so easily.

'Tempest Lotus.'

A spinning storm suddenly formed around Ysellia.

Inside the storm were countless razor-sharp water petals rotating at terrifying speed.

Not only was it dangerous to enter... The storm itself was pulling everything toward it.

Even when Lila tried stepping back, the force dragged her forward.

But that would matter only if Lila actually wanted to retreat.

And she did not hesitate even slightly.

Instead, she charged directly into the storm.

'Molten Waves.'

Lila released a destructive wave of fire-covered water.

The moment it touched the storm, parts of it hardened into black obsidian from the intense clash of heat and pressure.

The attack disrupted the storm just enough.

And Lila immediately plunged straight toward Ysellia.

Ysellia raised her sword to block... but she was slightly too slow.

SLASH!

Lila's spear cut across the scales on Ysellia's arm.

A visible wound appeared.

Lila instantly jumped backward again after landing the hit.

For the first time, visible anger appeared on Ysellia's face.

"You little…"

The air suddenly changed.

'Overtempest.'

Violent winds exploded throughout the battlefield.

Dark clouds gathered overhead.

The temperature dropped rapidly.

The atmosphere itself felt dangerous.

As if a natural disaster was beginning to awaken.
