Aurelia sighed. While her angels and legions were dealing with unifying the human kingdoms, she was left bored out of her mind.
Her advisors handled almost all of the royal obligations, and her future husband has yet to return to her.
Her mind constantly wandered to him, fantasizing and thinking of everything she had wanted him to do to her.
'I miss Cedric so much.' She groaned.
Soon, her senses picked up heavy armored footsteps coming toward the throne room. Her eyes widened, and she almost rose from the throne. She quickly slumped down as the armored figure entered.
He wore similar armor to her future husband, yet the man was smaller and scrawnier. He was not her fiancé, but a young soldier who wished to start an order of faithful knights.
The young soldier kneeled. "Your majesty. I have decided to name the new order, The Order of the Crimson Cross!"
Aurelia leaned back and crossed her arms. She peered at the man, inspecting his armor.
She nodded before turning to Lucious and whispering. "Lucious, what do you think?"
The angel bowed, "I think that the name will work perfectly, I believe Father will like it."
That was everything that Aurelia needed to hear. She then turned to Rayn. "What do you think?"
"I agree with my beloved, the name glorifies our Father well."
Aurelia nodded. This was everything she needed to hear. She pushed herself up from the throne and withdrew Zenith. She stepped forward and placed its broad side on Marius' shoulder.
"I, Queen Aurelia, proclaim, as witnessed by the most holy Angels, that a new legion," she said before shaking her head. "Nay, a new order of knights shall be formed and led by Marius. I grant knighthood to you and grant your order the name of The Crimson Cross. Do you vow that you will loyally serve God and the Kingdom of Valar as long as you live?"
He bowed his head deeper. "I vow that I will continue serving God and this kingdom for as long as I live!"
Aurelia smiled and sheathed her sword once more. "You are now Sir Marius, a paladin under God, rise."
He obeyed and rose to his feet.
Aurelia walked back to her throne and sat down. "Now that is done, I have a mission for you and your new order."
Marius tilted his head before gathering his wits and placing his hand on his breast. "Whatever needs to be done, will be done."
"While Cedric is away, I wish to complete the unification of human kingdoms. My angels had notified me that everything was completed flawlessly, but there is one more thing to address."
"What is it, your majesty?"
"We need to hold a meeting between the rulers of our kingdoms and negotiate our future. I would assign it to the 1st legion; however, the legions of old have history, and I believe an order serving God would be a better fit to organize it."
Marius felt his hand shake, he held it down as best as he could while gulping. "Are you sure, your majesty?"
She raised her arm. "Of course I am. Your order will be a bringer of peace, unlike legions that only bring war."
He nodded. "How long do we have?"
"The war against the demi... no demons is almost upon us, thus we need to hurry. I notified Scarlet and Ruby, they will notify the rulers and their generals, they should arrive in a few days."
Marius nodded. "I see..."
The speed at which the rulers would gather presented a new issue. The armor sets would not be finished on time. "What about our armor? Only this single set was finished and it will take a long time for the remaining ones."
No matter what, the sets could not be made faster; after all, the smith was only one man.
Aurelia sighed. "Forgive me, but you will have to improvise. I will send some angels to help the workshop you mentioned before."
Marius shook his head. "There is nothing to forgive your majesty for. We will make do and fulfill the mission to the best of our ability."
With a smile Aurelia chuckled. "Good, you are dismissed now. Be ready to be called into the palace when the rulers arrive."
Marius bowed and swiftly made his way out the palace, leaving Aurelia alone with the angels.
She slumped back and covered her face. "I hate this part of the job, no matter how many times I need to do it."
"Lady Aurelia, you are doing excellently," Lucious reassured her.
"Thank you, I know it's necessary to become good ruler before I can even consider being a good wife for Cedric."
Ladios chuckled. "Lady Aurelia, you have already impressed the father. I am sure he will marry you soon enough."
Aurelia laughed and rubbed the edge of her eye. "You are always such good support, guys. I love you all."
Then a minor earthquake was suddenly felt through the Valar, leaving no damage behind as it passed.
Aurelia groaned. "Could you guys go check out if there is any damage?"
Without any waiting, the trio of Angels rushed out the palace, intending to secure the city in case the earthquake damaged it.
Ever since her future husband had disappeared to deal with Chrunus, minor natural phenomena occurred every day.
From small earthquakes to windstorms, despite historically not occurring within Valar.
Her angels worked overtime protecting the city, yet it was becoming tiresome. She clasped her hands together and uttered a quick prayer. "Please God, help Cedric defeat Chrunus, and bring him to me safely."
She smiled warmly, there were no doubts in her mind that her fiancé would handle the false god, yet it was her wifely duty to worry about him.
Her hands separated, and she made her way toward the garden. Marius was the last audience she had expected today, which left her plenty of the day to fantasize about Cedric and enjoy some wine in her chambers.
