Chapter 383 - 383: Tom's Character

Voldemort lowered his head to look at the hole in his chest. The next moment, intense pain erupted through his entire lower body, then his waist… his back… his neck… his limbs… and finally his head.

A massive obsidian slab appeared behind Voldemort, while Kasenhis slowly walked toward him step by step.

With every step forward, the pressure Voldemort felt increased. It was like the crushing force of identical magnetic poles repelling one another. The pressure grew greater and greater, until he could hear the nauseating sound of compression.

Then, with a bang…

Like a watermelon exploding from the inside out.

Voldemort was crushed to death by the very spell he himself had created.

"Phew… This version of Voldemort was surprisingly easy to kill. What an idiot," Kasenhis said with satisfaction as he looked at the pile of exploded flesh in front of him.

Whoosh!

After a burst of roaring flames, Dumbledore appeared behind him.

"I did pretty well, didn't I?" Kasenhis turned to look at Dumbledore, his face practically screaming for praise.

Dumbledore nodded generously. "You did very well indeed. But Kasenhis, we still cannot lower our guard. His soul has already escaped. One day, he will return."

"When do you think he'll show up again?" Kasenhis asked.

"Tom has already gathered his followers, so on this matter, I remain pessimistic. It could be tomorrow, or it could be next semester," Dumbledore said helplessly.

"At least tonight I can finally get a good night's sleep… Though it'd be even better if I knew where all those Death Eaters were hiding. Shame my search device doesn't have a people-finding function," Kasenhis said helplessly before teleporting back to his office to sleep.

Meanwhile, Dumbledore looked helplessly at the remains of "Tom sauce" on the ground. With a casual wave of his wand, he controlled the earth to swallow the mess.

Mm. Fertilizer.

The next day…

Kasenhis still hadn't gotten out of bed, but Hogwarts itself had changed a little.

Well, not really.

It was just that Steve had kept his promise… and actually removed his own head, placing it at the entrance of Gryffindor Tower. Naturally, the Gryffindor students weren't about to actually kick Steve's head around like a ball.

Though that might also have been because they were afraid of breaking their feet on it.

But none of that was important.

The important thing was that Steve himself had genuinely prepared to spend twelve hours floating around headless for a full day, but the students hadn't actually done it. It moved him so much he was practically in tears.

Not only that, he even properly followed Neville around and experienced what a normal day as a Hogwarts student was like.

Of course, it would've been a perfect day if Neville hadn't insisted on bringing Steve along even when going to the bathroom.

Meanwhile…

By the time our dear Professor Kasenhis finally woke up after sleeping for nearly ten hours, it was already noon.

When he arrived at the Great Hall for lunch, his sharp eyes immediately noticed Steve's head sitting on the Gryffindor table, currently being enthusiastically fed by a crowd of students.

Kasenhis felt just a tiny bit jealous watching it.

Though of course, not right now.

Because Dumbledore quickly dragged him off to the office. Kasenhis strongly suspected that Snape had once again passed some bizarre piece of information to Dumbledore, which meant another strange mission was about to land on his head.

"So? What is it this time? And couldn't this have waited until after we finished eating?" Kasenhis said helplessly as he sat across from Dumbledore.

"We can have lunch here as well." Dumbledore lightly snapped his fingers, and a lunch for two appeared on the desk.

"Oh… alright then. I'll reluctantly forgive you." Kasenhis naturally picked up the utensils and began eating. "Now you can tell me what troublesome mission you need me to handle this time, assuming it's something I can actually do."

"It's not actually anything difficult. Eat first. You can listen while you eat."

Dumbledore didn't touch his own portion and instead pushed it toward Kasenhis. Seeing this, Kasenhis nodded in satisfaction and immediately started on the second serving after finishing the first.

Dumbledore slowly began speaking. "What kind of person do you think Voldemort is?"

"A narrow-minded blood supremacist with no brains," Kasenhis answered without hesitation.

"Mm, that's fairly accurate, but not entirely. You and I both know that Voldemort… well, I still prefer calling him Tom… Tom himself is not a pure-blood. He's a half-blood."

"And yet he still despises Muggles and Muggle-born wizards. At first glance, he certainly appears to be a pure-blood supremacist…" Dumbledore paused there.

Kasenhis, still eating, sighed helplessly. "Didn't you say I could just focus on eating and not talk… Fine, fine, let me guess. You're about to say that's not actually the case?"

Dumbledore nodded. "Exactly. That is not the case. Tom has slaughtered plenty of half-blood and pure-blood wizards alike. So I understood his nature very early on. He does not belong to any side."

"He does not belong to Muggles, Muggle-borns, half-bloods, or pure-bloods. From the very beginning, he never viewed himself as equal to anyone. So after thinking about it… I believe he sees himself as a god."

"And the reason he has become the symbol of pure-blood wizards is simply because pure-bloods possess enough power within the wizarding world. Pure-blood ideology and the pure-blood banner have always been nothing more than tools to him. If Muggle-borns held the greatest power, he would become their representative. If half-bloods were dominant, he would become the champion of half-bloods," Dumbledore rambled on at length.

"Dumbledore, how about getting to the point?" Kasenhis pressed impatiently.

"What I mean is, you cannot underestimate Tom by thinking he only accepts pure-blood and half-blood dark wizards into his ranks. His mind… at least in this regard… is fairly flexible."
