"As expected, in the end he favours his biological grandson instead of me, and what's more, that blodie is still complaining his grandfather doesn't love him, " he grumbled as he kicked a poor pebble by the roadside.
The reason why Akira was in such a bad mood can be traced back to what happened a few hours ago.
Earlier, he was fighting with Laxus when they accidentally came close to destroying the guild. This prompted the enraged Makarov to intervene and beat the daylight out of the two of them.
And after that, Makarov began punishing both of them. Originally, he wanted to ground these two problem children, but thinking this would not be enough, he did something that Akira could only say was inhumane.
He ordered the completely young and innocent Akira to take on a task that is both tiresome and troublesome, with low pay. And while Laxus was told to watch the little ones in the guild while working in the guild hall as a waiter. In short, he told Laxus to be a babysitter of the whole guild while making Akira do child labor.
If we look at things from a surface level, it would seem like Makarov was only punishing Akira and letting his grandson of the hook. But who told Laxus to be a socially anxious person? Even though he had lived in this guild since birth, he had very little contact with everyone in the guild.
So by letting Laxus be a babysitter and a waiter in the guild would force him to have contact with everyone and be bossed around by everyone. Usually, with Laxus' identity, no one would actually be disrespectful to Laxus. But who made Fairy Tail a very fun-loving guild? Forget being the president's grandson; these guys even dared to tease their first-generation master if she was there.
So the fact that Laxus would be tormented by those guys is the absolute truth, and Makarov's punishment is a very good thing. But Akira still felt Makarov was a bit biased.
This is because the quest that Akira had to do was very bad. The quest was to go to a nearby village and help them find some missing cattle. And in that quest, it is said that near that village, there is a huge forest where various magical beasts live. And this client needed proof of his cattle's life or death.
If this cattle is stolen by a nearby villager, then things would be very easy, as he only needs to listen to the thoughts of all the people in the village to find the culprit. But if this cattle is taken away by a magical beast, then he would have to search the whole forest to find any evidence of the cattle's death, like bones or a corpse.
And for all this work, the reward is less than 30,000 Jewels, which is totally not worth all that work. And most of all, this quest was posted at least a week ago. This means finding cattle's traces is almost impossible.
And for Akira, doing such a losing business is really torture.
