Though they weren't from the same world, Future Macao and Cana were, in a sense, quite familiar with each other.
Their teamwork was no weaker than Future Lyon and Future Sherria's pairing.
More importantly, Future Macao's Purple Flame Magic couldn't be extinguished by wind, and it could effectively suppress Future Lyon's Ice-Make Magic.
Putting magic attributes aside, when it came to Ice-Make Magic specifically, he knew it inside and out from all those guild brawls with Gray!
And so, the scales began to tip in favor of Fairy Tail's drinking duo.
The exciting four-person magic clash left a deeper impression on the audience about Fairy Tail's remaining members. They were no longer seen as just "weaklings" or "dead weight."
Some even speculated that Macao and the others had been deliberately hiding their strength all these seven years!
Though these discussions weren't particularly prominent amid the roaring arena.
At this moment, the battles on other fronts were also escalating.
All kinds of large-scale magic explosions lit up the big screen, dazzling the audience and keeping them thoroughly entertained.
Among them, the fight between Minerva and Kagura leaned more toward stalling. Both were waiting for the chance to snatch all of Erza's points at once and overturn the entire rankings.
So most of the attention they drew came from drooling perverts. Whether it was Minerva in her cheongsam or the beautiful and valiant Kagura, both were quite the sight!
Similarly, the female perverts were more interested in Future Gray versus Rufus. The back-and-forth between the elegant pretty boy and the shirtless hunk drew screams of delight.
Of course, the highest attention went to the showdown between Future Laxus and Jura.
Thunder roared. Iron and rock shattered.
A clash of Ten Wizard Saints-level magic was enough to turn the world upside down. Even with both sides consciously holding back, the surrounding buildings were reduced to complete ruin.
Here it must be said: King Toma E. Fiore had balls of steel to use the entire royal capital as the final day's arena.
If Old Makarov weren't so kind-hearted and had sent out the Fairy Tail demolition squad of Chase, Natsu, and Elfman...
"Rufus is displaying incredibly powerful magic! Gray seems to be on the defensive—is he looking for a chance to counterattack?"
"Kagura and Minerva don't seem intent on going all out... What?! Laxus is evenly matched with the Ten Wizard Saint Jura?!"
As a commentator with solid professional skills, Chapati managed to analyze and explain the action across multiple battlefields at lightning speed despite the chaos.
The cost, however, was that he hadn't had time to drink any water. His voice had gone hoarse.
"Mr. Chapati, perhaps you should rest a bit?" Yajima asked with concern.
"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Yajima! But to commentate on such an exciting match, even if I lose my voice, it's worth it!"
After politely replying, Chapati immediately threw himself back into work.
The moment his gaze swept across the big screen, he grabbed his microphone and shouted excitedly, "Oh my! Before we knew it, Erza has already defeated three Executioners!"
That shout instantly drew most of the audience's attention.
On the shattered plaza, where lava flowed, plants withered, and acid pooled, Erza stood proudly with her twin swords.
After the fierce battle, her aura remained steady. Though she had taken some damage, and her swords were chipped and notched, she still stood firm.
"The Fairy Queen lives up to her reputation. It seems we spent too long in Naraka Palace."
Watching his comrades being carried off one by one by the medical team, the Direwolf Knights' captain wore a grim expression, his earlier confidence gone.
Though their magic was execution-style and couldn't be used at full power in a spectator-friendly match, he could clearly sense that his opponent hadn't gone all out either!
"You are also excellent mages," Erza said sincerely.
"Come! Let's use our final execution technique—no, our final magic—to bring this battle to a close!"
With that, the Direwolf Knights' captain unleashed all his magic power. He stomped hard, shattering the ground, and fitted his two sickles together perfectly before hurling them with tremendous force.
"Finisher: Justice Guillotine!!"
A flash of cold light. The dual-bladed weapon spun at high speed, as if capable of cutting through space itself.
Without even making direct contact, the ground along its path split apart like fragile tofu from the sheer force of the slashes!
The next moment, Erza's body was covered in a dense array of purple handprints. As long as the tracking marks remained, the Justice Guillotine would lock onto its target until it hit!
Having already experienced the trouble this technique caused during the battle, Erza had no intention of dodging. Instead, she charged straight at the incoming dual-bladed sickle.
"Requip: Black Wing Armor."
"Black Wing: Moon Flash!"
Along the straight line connecting Erza, the dual-bladed sickle, and the captain, a jet-black blade of light flashed past.
Erza appeared at the end of the line, letting out a long breath as she slowly sheathed her Black Wing Sword, its back facing outward.
CRASH.
The dual-bladed sickle shattered into countless pieces like fragile foam.
Then, the captain's armor and steel mask exploded as well.
"Remarkable destructive power..."
With that final sigh, the Direwolf Knights' captain collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
With that, the last NPC had fallen. The entire arena erupted in cheers!
"Ooooh! She actually did it!"
Chapati's wig flew off as he shouted excitedly. "The Fairy Queen defeated the entire Direwolf Knights single-handedly—a undeniable victory!!"
"There's still a difficult road ahead to true victory," Yajima said, his gaze fixed on the score display above Erza's head.
Due to the match rules, she needed to "survive" to the end for the 23 points she'd gained from the NPCs to be added to Fairy Tail's total.
It was like a ticking time bomb. If she couldn't defend it properly, it would blow up in Fairy Tail's face!
"Heh heh. Being too eager to show off isn't always a good thing."
The Pumpkin Head clearly hadn't expected the Direwolf Knights, sent to show off the kingdom's power, to lose so completely. His tone carried a hint of schadenfreude. "Look. She's already been targeted, pumpkin."
His eyes shifted toward a battlefield that had gone quiet.
On the field.
A Requip magic circle bloomed. Erza switched to her cherry blossom uniform and thigh-high black socks for easier movement.
"The battle took a bit longer than expected. I need to hurry and support Laxus and the others."
Just as she was about to move and regroup with her teammates, her gaze sharpened. Almost by instinct, she swung her blade behind her.
THUD!
A dull impact rang out. Her sword had struck a colorful chaotic light barrier.
