Chapter 145 - reunion agaaaain

After Mewtwo was left alone in the street, the reporters didn't waste a single second.

This was gold.

A student had just stopped an attack on U.A.

Not a pro hero. Not a teacher.

A student.

And not just any situation—this could easily be framed as an attack related to All Might's presence in the school.

The narrative built itself in their heads almost instantly.

An unknown villain appears.

Targets U.A.

Possibly targets All Might.

And gets stopped… by a student.

Even if the enemy escaped, that didn't matter.

From the reporters' perspective, the only reason they got away was because of third-party interference—those strange additional quirks that had appeared during the confrontation.

Which, in truth, wasn't entirely wrong.

Cameras flashed nonstop.

Photos of Mewtwo, standing in the middle of the broken gate, calm and composed after the fight, were taken from every possible angle.

Some reporters even tried to shout questions, but none dared to step too close.

The tension in the air was still too thick.

Then, finally—

The teachers arrived.

Several pro heroes from U.A. appeared almost at the same time, taking in the scene in a single glance—the destroyed gate, the cracks in the ground, the lingering signs of battle.

They didn't need an explanation.

They understood immediately.

Before any of them could speak, Mewtwo acted.

He already knew what came next.

Without wasting time, he lifted off the ground and flew toward the main building, leaving the teachers behind to handle the reporters.

Some stayed to control the situation outside.

Others followed him.

This wasn't something to discuss in the open.

This was serious.

And somewhere else—

Far from U.A.

"Calm down, Tomura. It was just an unfortunate turn of events. Your identity is still unknown to the heroes."

The voice came from a screen.

Distorted.

Calm.

In complete contrast to the chaos in the room.

Tomura Shigaraki stood in what remained of the bar.

Or what was left of it.

Broken furniture. Cracked walls. Dust in the air.

Half of the place had been destroyed by his own hands.

"CALM DOWN?!" he screamed.

"That bastard ruined everything!"

His hands trembled as he scratched at his neck, harder and harder.

"He humiliated me! Who the hell was he?! Some random extra—some secondary character—how dare he interfere with my plans?! I was going to crush All Might!"

Another piece of furniture shattered under his touch.

But the voice on the screen didn't falter.

If anything—

It sounded amused.

"Hahahaha… he is not a secondary character, Tomura."

There was a pause.

A deliberate one.

"He is one of the four strongest students in U.A."

Silence fell for a fraction of a second.

"He has already taken down two major villain figures in Japan. And if things continue as they are… he may very well stand at the same level as All Might in the future."

Tomura froze.

Just for a moment.

"You didn't lose because you are weak," the voice continued.

"You lost because you lack experience against someone of that caliber."

A slow, almost patient tone.

Like a teacher correcting a student.

"But don't worry… you will get there."

Tomura's breathing was heavy.

Unstable.

"For now," the voice continued, "we learned something important."

"We must take extra measures."

"Because he is not the only threat at that level."

Tomura's eyes widened slightly.

"…Are you saying… there are more?" he asked, indignation creeping back into his voice.

The room around him was already half-destroyed, yet his frustration hadn't diminished.

"All Might is not the only pillar anymore," the voice replied calmly.

"There are others growing."

"And you are not ready to face them yet."

That truth landed heavier than any attack.

"We will proceed differently," the voice continued.

"We will focus on All Might… and the new generation."

"We will cut them down before they grow into something like the current third years."

A brief pause.

Then, with quiet certainty:

"Leave the third years to me."

There was something different in his tone now.

Something… sharper.

"I have something in mind for them."

At the same time inside the U.A all of the principal teachers, leaving only a couple to manage the reporters and some police officers.

Inside the room—which was Principal Nezu's office—everyone took their seats.

This time, the newly appointed Yonkou had also been called to the meeting.

The atmosphere was more serious than usual.

For a moment, Raiden thought this would be about a mission—maybe something coordinated, something that required their strength directly.

Perhaps they would be assigned to work together.

But he was wrong.

"First, Raiden-kun… how did you discover the villain who broke through the gate?" asked Principal Nezu, his tone calm but clearly attentive.

Raiden leaned back slightly in his chair, thinking for a second before answering.

"Well… honestly? It was mostly luck," he admitted.

"I was watching Aizawa-sensei give the students their test. After it ended, I got bored and decided to check the crowd of reporters outside U.A."

He paused briefly, recalling the moment.

"So I sat on top of a nearby building and just observed them. That's when I noticed someone… off."

His gaze sharpened slightly.

"He didn't look like a reporter. No camera, no microphone, nothing. He looked more like a civilian—but not in a normal way. I couldn't say he was a villain at first, but he was suspicious enough to keep an eye on."

A small silence filled the room as he continued.

"And then… he touched the gate."

Raiden's expression grew more serious.

"And the metal just… crumbled."

A few of the teachers exchanged looks.

"It was a pretty scary Quirk," he added.

"I don't know if it works on people the same way… but honestly, I don't want to find out."

"Disintegration…?" asked Snipe from the side, narrowing his eyes slightly.

"For what I saw, yes," Raiden replied.

"He needs to touch the target with all five fingers, but once he does… it just turns to dust."

He crossed his arms, thinking quickly.

"If I had to say, the best counters we have right now would be Shota Aizawa, Mirio Togata… and me."

He glanced briefly at the others.

"The rest of you… would be in serious danger if you get caught off guard."

A pause.

"I mean, from what I saw, he lacks experience in actual combat. But that Quirk alone? It's not something you can underestimate."

"I see…" murmured Principal Nezu, tapping his desk lightly.

"Anything else you managed to figure out?"

Raiden nodded.

"Yes. Mentally… he's unstable."

He leaned forward slightly now.

"It wasn't normal. It was like talking to someone whose sense of reality is completely broken."

A small frown crossed his face.

"He called me an 'NPC'… like everything around him was some kind of game."

A few teachers shifted in their seats.

"And the way he spoke… it wasn't just arrogance. It felt… distorted. Like something was wrong at the core."

He exhaled slowly.

"I didn't try to dig deeper at that moment. I assumed we would interrogate him later."

A brief pause.

"But then… that thing appeared."

"What's your assessment of that creature?" asked Principal Nezu, tilting his head slightly.

"Not a person, then? Could it be a mutant-type Quirk?"

Raiden shook his head almost immediately.

"No. It wasn't."

His voice lowered, more serious now.

"It had no thoughts."

That alone made the room go quiet.

"The way it moved… it was strange. Not natural. Almost mechanical."

He looked down for a second, remembering.

"So I tried to communicate using telepathy."

Another pause.

"And that's when I noticed something that shouldn't exist."

He lifted his gaze again.

"Every person has some level of mental activity. Even basic instincts. Even animals."

"But that thing…"

His expression hardened.

"There was nothing."

"Not resistance. Not noise. Not even instinct."

"If I had to describe it… its mind was completely empty."

"That's…" murmured Shota Aizawa from the side, eyes narrowing further, "…not normal."

"Not normal at all," Nezu added, his tone sharper now.

He studied Raiden carefully.

"And judging by your expression… you have a theory."

Raiden hesitated for a fraction of a second.

Then nodded.

"Yes."

He leaned forward slightly.

"Actually… more strange things happened after that."

"More strange?" Aizawa repeated, clearly interested now.

"Yes… first, all of you probably already saw the footage," Raiden began, looking around the room.

"So you already know… those were the same portals that kidnapped the Symbol of Fear."

A brief silence followed.

"That means this is definitely connected to that incident."

His gaze sharpened slightly.

"And back then… when I mentioned the liquid that came out of the villain's mouth and how they escaped… most of you reacted."

He paused.

"Some of you hid it better than others."

A faint glance toward the front of the room.

"The only ones who didn't react at all were the director… and Aizawa-sensei."

Another pause.

"The rest… well."

"So my question is simple," Raiden continued.

"Who owns that Quirk?"

He leaned forward slightly, his tone more analytical now.

"Because whoever it is… they're not normal."

"And not only that—the creature I fought…"

He frowned.

"It's oddly similar to the ones created by the Symbol of Progress."

A few teachers stiffened slightly at that comparison.

"That's not something easy to replicate," Raiden added.

"I have no doubt those things are the result of human experimentation."

A short silence.

"But the one responsible for that is already in prison."

He crossed his arms.

"So I don't know anyone else capable of doing something like that."

Several teachers exchanged glances.

Some sighed.

And then—

The door slammed open.

"I CAN ANSWER THAT FOR YOU, YOUNG RAIDEN!"

The voice filled the room instantly.

All heads turned.

It was All Might.

He stepped inside and walked straight toward the table, sitting beside Nezu.

"That Quirk…" All Might said, his tone now serious, "belongs to the worst criminal in Japan."

A brief pause.

"All For One."

This time, Raiden's reaction was immediate.

His eyes widened, his jaw dropping slightly.

He had expected something serious.

Something dangerous.

But not that.

"…Really?" he muttered.

Then, almost instinctively:

"The three of them…? I ran into all three of them?"

The words slipped out before he could stop them.

Despite the tension, a small laugh escaped Nezu.

"You either have the best luck… or the worst, young Raiden," the principal said with a quiet chuckle.

Then his expression returned to normal.

"But yes."

"That is one of his Quirks."

Nezu leaned forward slightly.

"That is precisely why he is so dangerous."

"He possesses multiple Quirks."

"He can take them… and give them."

A brief pause.

"So we don't know how many he currently has."

The room grew heavier.

"A while ago, All Might fought him," Nezu continued.

"We believed he would need more time to recover after that battle."

"But it seems…"

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"…he has already regained enough strength to act again."

"And the target is…?" Raiden asked.

He didn't finish the sentence.

He didn't need to.

Everyone in the room turned toward All Might.

The answer was obvious.

Raiden didn't hesitate.

"All Might… you're injured too, aren't you?"

The question was direct.

Blunt.

All Might's expression darkened slightly.

Then he nodded.

"…Yes."

"Quite badly."

Before anyone else could react—

A flash of light.

Raiden transformed instantly.

Mewtwo stood in his place.

Without hesitation, he extended his telekinesis toward All Might.

The hero tensed for a fraction of a second—

But immediately understood.

This wasn't an attack.

"You…" All Might began—

But stopped.

Mewtwo's eyes widened slightly.

His expression shifted.

"This is… far worse than just an injury."

Without another word, he focused.

"Life Dew."

A soft, blue glow spread through the room, flowing directly into All Might's body.

The energy concentrated around his side.

Healing.

Stabilizing.

Restoring what it could.

For a moment—

Silence.

"…It's working," All Might said, surprised.

"The pain… it's fading."

"Yes," Mewtwo replied.

"But that's all."

His voice was calm.

Measured.

He frowned slightly.

"The damage…"

"…is worse than I thought."

He slowly lowered his hand.

"I can heal the surface."

"But I can't replace what's no longer there."

He looked directly at All Might.

"The wound is still as severe as before."

A small pause.

"Think of it as… stabilization."
