Chapter 229 - Chapter 229 Accepting capitulation.

-Yes your majesty, there is no mistake.

Minami answered.

-The Empire of Japan wishes to surrender to the Lantean Empire under the conditions stated in these documents.

She confirmed, with a hint of resignation in her voice.

-Alright, I see no reason to reject your surrender, and the conditions are fair and easy to agree upon.

However I want to know why?

Andrew said, after reading the declaration of surrender.

It was not like he had anything against gaining more population and resources, not to mention warships and technology, even if he didn't get any territory alongside them.

The envoy sighed hearing this question.

-Your majesty, our empire is currently at war, with a race of Funganoids, known as Kinokians, and we are losing.

According to our predictions, we won't be able to stop them for more than two more weeks, before they wipe us out completely.

With this in mind, we bought the coordinates and information about the Sol system from the merchants, and used our Jump Gate to come here and try to bluff our way into the sol system or surrender to your empire if our gamble turned ineffective.

She explained the situation, uncovering just how desperate the Empire of Japan was.

-This Jump Gate.

Did you find it in a crystal box?

Aelita asked, surprising the Envoy.

-Yes your majesty we did and it was only one of two choices left in the box when we got it.

The last one was a battleship, but our merchant advised us not to choose it, to prevent the invasion forces from being able to use their heavy ships against our universe.

-Alright that's all I need to hear.

We accept your surrender and agree to immediate evacuation of your empire's residents and forces through the portal.

The conditions in your act of capitulation will remain unchanged and are coming into effect from this moment on.

My orders are to bring everything and anything of value and we will send our transport ships to help with that and our warships to secure the jump gate.

Anything that can't be brought back is to be destroyed, to prevent it from falling into enemy hands.

Runir, launch the defense transport to the portal as soon as possible, and send the third fleet to bolster our defenses on our side.

The emperors said, and continued issuing orders for a few more minutes, preparing everything for the arrival of hundreds of thousands beings from the Japanese Empires space, and bolstering the defenses of the jump gate to make the evacuation possible.

-Envoy Sato, contact the Empress of Japan and explain the situation to her as soon as possible.

Andrew said to Minami.

-At once your majesty.

The envoy agreed without any delay.

It impressed her a lot seeing as within less than ten minutes, this young emperor awoke the whole might of his own empire to help save as many people of an empire that had just surrendered to him.

What's more, unlike the Japanese empires, the council, which always debated before interpreting and fulfilling the empress's orders, here there was no debate, no dispute, and no one dared to even try to interpret the emperor's orders.

As soon as the emperor gave an order, it was simply carried out, without any delays.

The envoy, for the first time, saw what absolute power looked like and was in awe.

As soon as she heard Andrews' orders, she also didn't dare to delay and contacted the empress and the council to relay the orders of their new lord, along with his acceptance of their surrender under the conditions they all set.

Within the next day, the evacuation was going smoothly, the third fleet under Giarna was on the other side of the portal, setting up a defensive line which would allow the Japanese fleet to evacuate, as well as turning the system with the jump gate into a fortress, to hold off the enemy.

Lastly, Binon, with her team of explosive experts that she trained herself, was busy rigging the jump gate with enough explosives to vaporize it.

The plans for this jump gate were already retrieved, and Vulcan confirmed that it could be built if Andrew so desired.

As for Kinokians, they immediately figured out why the Japanese were able to hold them back for so long, as soon as they received the data from the other side.

The answer was simple.

They were fighting against only a small fleet, not any larger than the one Andrew faced in the Milky Way galaxy, and the mushroom aliens were in no hurry to wipe them out, taking their time to clear out everything inside the systems they conquered before moving on.

That changed the moment they approached the defense line set up by Giarna's forces.

The new defense satellites were also equipped with two of the new torpedoes on top of their standard complement of railguns and missile launchers.

And before the enemy even entered their firing range, they hit a mine field, consisting of smart mines, hidden within an asteroid field in standby mode.

As soon as the mines hit, destroying and damaging over a hundred Kinokian vessels.

The Funganoids opened fire on everything in sight, taking out the remaining mines.

However, the moment they saw the defense satellites, they contacted their command, informing them about it.

The result was an immediate mobilization of an enormous armada, the moment the satellites were recognized as belonging to the Lantean Empire.

With all the trouble this little empire brought them, the Kinokians wanted to erase it once and for all, so they pressed forward without delay, only to be met with a barrage of torpedoes that decimated their first lines and even destroyed two of their battleships.

However, they didn't care about their losses as long as they could destroy their hated enemy.

Besides, they had millions of ships at their disposal, so losing a few hundred or even a thousand was of no consequence to them.

The Kinokian fleet tore through line after line of satellites and mines, with every line slowing them down.

By the time they arrived at the system with a jump gate three days later, it was already too late, as the jump gate was deactivated, and there was no sign of any ship or even space station in sight, only an enormous amount of mines and satellites waiting for them.

Understanding that their only chance of finding their hated enemy was by capturing the jump gate.

The Funganoids launched and all out attack on the system, taking massive damage from the defenses, before annihilating them.

The battle lasted for four hours, at which time the satellites simply ran out of ammunition and power, before being completely wiped out.

With the defenses destroyed, the Kinokians approached the jump gate, only to be greeted by a fireworks display, as all the Ignis charges that Binon and her team had placed on the installation detonated all at once, tearing the gate to pieces and taking two enemy ships with it as well as damaging several more through the debris that was launched in every direction by the explosion.

This situation, though, infuriated the Kinokians, who were once again outplayed by the Lantean empire, suffering losses and having little to nothing to show for it.
