Edward
The water's definitely cooling.
I know this because goosebumps are starting to rise on my arms and Connor just looked at me like he noticed too.
"Cold?" he asks, voice low.
"No," I say. Which is a lie.
He stands. Water and bubbles slide off him and I forget how to breathe for a second. Mud's gone. Sheep hair's gone. It's just Connor. All of him and he's looking at me like I'm the only thing on the deck.
"Come here," he says, holding out his hand.
I take it. My tub is suddenly very empty without him.
The air hits cold the second I'm out, so I'm moving before I can think about it. Into him. Pressed against him. Skin to skin and both of us are still wet.
He laughs into my neck. "Edward."
"What?" I mumble against his collarbone. "You said come here."
"I meant get a towel."
"Oh." I pull back. Grin. "This is better."
