I almost dropped my laptop as I walked to the couch when I heard Melanie gasp. She sat in front of the television with her phone in her hand and her other hand covering her mouth as she stared at the screen of her phone with large wide eyes. I almost ignored her knowing she probably found out one of her favorite TikTok couples broke up, cheated on one another or were getting married. It was the same cycle every single day.
However, what alerted me that something wasn't right, was the way her eyes darted up to look at me before she took her phone and shoved it under her lap.
"What is it now?" I pouted as I sat down, laptop on my lap as I got ready to go through team strategies for our upcoming game.
"It's nothing," her voice rose which told me she was definitely lying.
"Tell me," I glared, "Your face is practically red from the drama of whatever nonsense you're always reading about."
"You normally never care," she quickly defended, "Why are you suddenly so keen?"
