"Edward don't you think I know that?" He leaned forward in his chair, "I regret it. I created that environment but I'm trying to fix it."
"You never cared about fixing it for all these years, why should I suddenly believe you want to now? Why because Isaac had to talk some sense into you?" I scrunched my nose and felt more humiliated that Isaac felt the need to talk to Connor on my behalf. "You can just leave it alone Connor, you never cared before, you definitely didn't care whilst we were dating and you don't have to care afterwards either."
He looked baffled at my sudden onslaught of words. As if it never occured to him that I would stop begging for his attention, for his affection and love. "Edward," he ran his hands down his face then stared at me, "We don't have to go back to what we were just because we're no longer together. I didn't do this to hurt you. I love you but I can't be with you. It has nothing to do with you."
