"Thank you Isaac," I uttered feeling gut wrenched. "I'll- I'll talk to Edward and see what he says. I'll try maybe to have a word with the boys."
He softly smiled as he nodded, "Thanks Connor, I think he'll really appreciate it."
I gave him a small smile and watched him walk away to his car. It took me a second to climb into my truck and when I did I didn't know what to do. Hearing Phillips comments this morning, seeing how the boys treated Edward and now Isaac telling me what had been happening made me feel like a jerk. Edward had called me to tell me how bad things were and I had simply dismissed him like he was an annoying child.
Maybe if I had taken the time to listen to him I would have seen how bad things had gotten. I had responsibilities as captain and that was to ensure that when it came to the team, everyone respected each other. I hadn't been doing a good example of that in the beginning and the bed I had created was coming back to haunt me.
