The world was blurry when Clancy woke up, a mix of smudgy blobs and dark outlines filled his vision. Trying to blink away the fog he slowly began to sit up, before he could even lift his head up a shrilling pain covered his entire body, he felt like his bones were all set on fire.
A pained shriek came from his mouth as he shot back down into a lying position that didn't hurt. Unable to move or see properly he had nothing to do, so he sat and thought about what happened, all he could remember was starting to stab the overgrown furball in the skull, then his memory went black.
"Ahh you are awake child." a soft voice came from somewhere he couldn't see.
Too scared to move to avoid that pain again he simply just laid there trying to speak, a low growl escaped his lips as he tried to form words. Feeling like his mouth wasn't his own he gave up on that venture.
"Ah child don't try and move too quick, honestly I'm surprised you awoke this fast, it's only been 4 hours, quite resilient aren't you" The soft voice sounded out right next to him as he felt the cold of her hand touch his shoulder.
A warm glow slowly grew out from her palm as she castes some type of spell, instantly the pain began to recede again as Clancy laid there trying to take everything that had happened in the last few days.
He didn't know where that animalistic instinct from the fight came from, but he was glad for it, without whatever took over him he would be dead right now.
The blur slowly started to coalesce into an image that he could understand as he was immediately met with an other-worldly sight. Across from him in a hospital bed was a strange bipedal looking lion creature. The beast-person had a ghastly wound in his mid-section, running up the left side of their body was a bandage wrapped around its waist covered in blood. The shaking of the strange creature the only tell that they were still alive.
The warm glow into his shoulder finally began to dim as he felt the pain slowly fade from his side as he felt control over his body return to him. Not daring to risk too much movement that could set back whatever healing he had received Clancy tried to gently shrug his shoulder. Slowly feeling out his muscles in the shoulder he slowly lifted it as he didn't feel any sharp pains, of course a mild pain was still present, but he wasn't shocked seeing as the pierced the thing on about eight inches of beast fang.
Beginning to sit up he turned to the woman who had healed him. She met his gaze with a warm smile as she took a step back. Before he could even thank the woman, he was suddenly yanked out of the bed, a slight stabbing pain piercing his leg.
He snapped his attention toward whatever had grabbed him as he suddenly found himself being launched through the air. The hard thud of him meeting a brick wall rang through his ears as he tried to get a sense of what was going on.
"Another fight? I don't think I can even run in my condition right now." Clancy thought as he whirled his head up to what had flung him.
The next thing he saw stunned him more than the hit to the wall he just experienced. A small elderly lady was smiling softly at him, the old woman looked so sweet, but Clancy knew otherwise. With more strength than he believed he had in him he shouted at the woman.
"What the hell was that for?" he shouted as he tried to slowly stand up.
"My my young one, that is no way to treat a woman of my age. But I will give you a pass this time as you are new, however be warned, I do not believe in second chances." as she finished the final part of her sentence a pungent aura of death filled her eyes as she continued to smile.
"After being healed you are to be thrown out of our facility to make room for the next round of injured people, such is protocol. I would apologies for the way in which I did it, but I am not fond of lying, that was quite entertaining. Now be on your way child." She said as she turned around toward someone who was just dragged in by two people dressed in the same white uniform as her.
Deciding to put that strange situation out of his head he turned to see where he could leave the building from, he did not want to be here longer than need be. Finding the exit he swiftly walked toward it while holding one hand to his neck, that throw had clearly undone some of the damage that was healed but he didn't think it was alarming enough to get thrown again after they healed him.
The world outside the weird medical building was not what he had expected to see, the beast person on the bed adjacent from him should've given him enough warning but he had glossed over it after being roughly treated by the old lady.
A mixture of different beings was walking around ahead of him, a group of humans were standing a bit to his left, but they weren't really humans, the groups tallest member couldn't be more than four and a half feet tall, and they were all rather bulky for their size. A small distance to his right were a group of bird people, looking like a mixture of a stalk and human. And most confusingly of all was a weird looking thing that didn't resemble any animal he had ever seen before, a shade of blue covered their fur as they stood with four arms and 2 sets of legs extending from an elongated torso, sort of like a centaur but with sharp talons at their feet.
All in all, the sight deeply confused him. As he tried to step out onto the road, he was greeted by a friendly sounding voice shouted from behind him.
"Hey there friend, you seem to be a little lost, ooh are you a newcomer? We don't get very many of your kind around these parts." The voice was oddly loud seeing as the bustle of the road ahead of him was quite dominating.
Turning around to greet the person who had hopefully been talking to him, he remembered a time back in high school when someone shouted out and looked like they were talking to him, he had turned around just to find out they were talking to someone ahead of him and had to stand in the shame of the person looking at him strangely as the actual person they meant to call over walked by him, he had wanted to die.
Thankfully it appeared he was the target of this stranger's call. The person standing before him Stood around the same height as him but didn't appear to be fully human, well he very much wasn't human, a pair of white wings were folded behind his back and a pair of strange horns jotted out of his skull.
"Hey, my name is Raltar, what's yours?" The man said as he raised one of his hands up offering a handshake.
"Uh yeah I am new to whatever this place is, and my name is Clancy, nice to meet you" Clancy said as he reached to shake the other man's hand.
The two men stood there in a moment of silence as they met each other's gaze, a competitive smile appearing on both of their faces as the affectively had a dick measuring contest as they both squeezed as hard as they could to see who would back out first.
If there was anything Clancy wasn't against doing it was cheating in a contest like this, activating a bit of his gravity mana he pushed it to his hand as he saw the other man begin to struggle, beads of sweat running down his face. Eventually as Clancy increased the amount of mana he pushed the other man had been forced to give up lest he want another trip to the medical building. A defeated laugh came out of the man's mouth as they both gave each other a friendly smile.
