[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]
Third Person POV
Novigrad.
...
...
After they had eaten the first meal of the day, the little boy's sad sound was impossible to ignore. "Ah..."
Aren watched the lawn where he used to play every day with a discouraged expression as several raindrops fell from the sky.
He had run outside right after eating what his parents said were vitamins for him along with the food Aunt Hilda prepared.
Although he was still a little tired, the idea of immediately playing with his new toys gave him energy. But as soon as he stepped outside, he simply let his shoulders slump.
There was no way to play.
His plan for that morning, especially after his mother had said she would spend some time with him, was ruined by the rain. He couldn't stop looking at the sky with a sad and disappointed expression.
"Who said it's raining?" his mother's voice sounded behind him.
Ciri stepped forward, walking into the rain. Then, looking up at the sky, she raised her right hand and simply snapped her fingers. The sound came out louder than normal, and the rain itself seemed to stir with a force, but soon returned to normal.
However, everyone noticed it... Immediately, the rain began to lessen. The drops stopped falling from the sky, making Aren stare at his mother with his mouth hanging open.
Suddenly, all the darkness began to disappear, with rays of sunlight emerging between the clouds. Before his eyes, the rainy day simply transformed into a sunny day within moments.
"Amazing!" Aren started jumping with joy as he ran to get his toys.
Now wearing another little outfit that Ciri herself had chosen for him, he ran from one side to the other while watching his mother snap her fingers again. A wave of energy with no apparent form surged in all directions, drying all the grass and removing any trace of moisture.
"Mommy made it stop raining! Look! Mommy did magic! Amazing!" he began shouting excitedly.
Hilda, who was watching all of this, remained frozen, her mouth open.
Eira, who was standing beside her, started laughing before galloping outside as well and lying down on the grass to enjoy the day too.
Aren quickly spread several toys across the ground and began to play, while Ciri watched him with a smile on her face.
"You need to be careful." Madara spoke beside her with a serious look as he watched the sky.
"Ah, it wasn't that big of a deal," Ciri replied. To her, all that mattered was that her son was happy.
But Madara shook his head. "That's not it. It was a bit excessive. No one makes the sky stop raining all of a sudden. Not even a rainstorm ends that quickly to make way for a sunny day. People will notice." His tone was a warning.
If his wife wanted to stop the rain, then she should have been more subtle. She was simply too emotional when it came to their son.
Ciri simply sighed. "Alright. I'll avoid doing that." In the end, perhaps she really had been a little too excited after what they had done in Novigrad.
And Madara was right. The people in the city who had been running through the streets during the rain only to see, before their very eyes, the clouds disappear and a sudden sun emerge in the sky.
Everyone looked up with expressions full of doubt and questions. Why had the weather changed so suddenly?
In any case, Madara joined his son. Seeing that Ciri seemed like a real tomboy, she started having fun playing as well, enjoying the kind of childhood she had never had. After all, Madara still remembered her being trapped in Cintra Castle because of her duties.
For a twenty-one-year-old woman, she simply didn't care.
Nenneke joined them as well, along with the other priestess from the temple who was usually there with them.
While Aren played with his mother, ran across the lawn, and showed things to his father, Madara remained in a corner watching everything with his arms crossed. Ciri alternated between staying with her husband and playing with Aren across the lawn.
The morning was quite peaceful and joyful for everyone.
Even Madara wore a smile as he watched his son constantly seek his attention, wanting to include him in the games and asking questions about the toys and everything he couldn't understand.
Madara left for a few minutes while planning to prepare something for them to eat in the middle of the day. Not wanting to use anything from his own supplies, he decided to get something directly from the forest.
Some time later, he returned carrying the carcass of a rather large deer.
"Where's the kitchen? I'll prepare something myself," he said, since he had never cooked anything there.
Hilda pointed out the location. Shortly afterward, Hilda's scream echoed from the kitchen. She immediately came running out, her heart racing.
"What happened?" Ciri also looked concerned.
Aren grabbed her leg, equally apprehensive.
Ciri picked him up and quickly headed to the kitchen to discover the cause of the commotion. When she arrived, she immediately understood the situation.
Her son, on the other hand, did not. "Daddy!" he shouted in alarm.
His eyes widened. "Why are there so many daddies?" the boy blurted out as Ciri began laughing out loud.
After all, he still hadn't seen Madara's clones. Madara had simply kept them hidden from him over the last few days.
Even Nenneke came over to see what was happening and wasn't surprised. Hilda was the only one who didn't know about it, just like Aren. That was why both of them reacted that way.
Ciri stopped laughing, kissed her son's forehead, and began explaining, "Daddy has an ability that lets him multiply himself. He can create several clones."
As she spoke, several wooden copies of Madara worked in the kitchen. Some cut up the deer. Others organized the ingredients and prepared the fire. Everything was done perfectly and extremely quickly, as if they had been born for it.
Madara was a shinobi. It was very easy for him to know exactly where to cut and how to use a knife. Besides, he had done that thousands of times throughout his life.
Normally, he let his clones prepare the food while he carried out other activities, but this time he helped. The clones began cutting the meat into strips. Part of the meat was stored for future use inside scrolls, while the rest was set aside for lunch.
Madara left enough to feed about ten adults and a three-year-old child. Or more, if Eira wanted to eat meat. He still didn't know whether the Unicorn ate anything at all anymore.
Lunch was ready in approximately twenty minutes.
Rice was taken directly from his stock, stored inside scrolls, while the clones finished the rest of the meal with absurd efficiency.
In the end, the table was filled with food, more than enough for everyone. Meanwhile, the clones began to disperse. They went to a corner of the place and started transforming into full-grown trees instead of small wooden stumps on the ground...
That happened because Nenneke had asked for some trees to be planted there. Madara couldn't create every type of tree out of nothing, but he had a large repertoire and could alter their shape regardless of the species. He could also produce various kinds of fruit trees.
Nenneke provided some seeds from the trees she wanted, and it was easy to add a little more beauty to the temple.
Thus, several peculiar trees began to grow. Even if they weren't common fruits from the region, Nenneke could simply say that it was some miracle from the goddess.
Besides, they would remain in a more isolated area of the temple. In any case, Nenneke also took the opportunity to scold Ciri for stopping the rain.
The matriarch of the clan cast a look full of reproach toward Ciri. "How can you simply change the weather however you want?" There was clear displeasure in her voice; she disliked the idea of interfering with the natural order of things.
To Nenneke, nature and the weather existed as they were meant to exist and should not be altered, especially on a whim.
Madara did not come to his wife's rescue at that moment.
Ciri merely pouted while listening to the scolding.
Even though she was only an ordinary elderly woman, Nenneke could easily reprimand the most powerful woman in that world. Ciri looked like a teenager who had just been caught doing something wrong.
Not even Geralt usually spoke to her that way. So all she could do was listen and endure the priestess's disapproving gaze.
Aren watched everything with fascination. He was impressed that Grandma Nenneke could make his mother act like that.
Meanwhile, everyone began eating.
"Daddy, it's delicious!" the boy praised. Even the others loved the food.
"Then eat plenty. You need to strengthen your body," Madara said to his son with a smile.
"Yes! I want to become strong too! I want to make clones of myself!" Suddenly, Ciri looked at Madara. The two exchanged a glance.
"Of all the things you've seen, this is the first time you've shown interest in our abilities, and you choose his clones of all things?" Ciri asked in a theatrical tone, as if Aren were betraying her.
That made the boy's eyes widen. He immediately panicked. "No, Mommy!" Aren became completely alarmed.
Madara merely shook his head while patting the boy's hair. He was sitting between his two parents, with Nenneke and Hilda occupying the seats beside them.
"You don't need to panic. I was just joking. I just thought it was funny," Ciri told the boy, trying to ease the situation.
Aren immediately relaxed again, though not before looking at Madara once more. "It's just that the clones are cool. I wanted to make lots of me. It seems really fun," he explained.
Madara became thoughtful. Itachi had managed to create a clone at the age of five. Aren was his son and also Ciri's son. The chakra and the space-time power within him could be either a blessing or a curse. After all, they were still two different energies coexisting.
They still needed to discover how their son would deal with that, since it was something unprecedented. Even so, Madara had faith that chakra would be easier for him to master. Being his son, perhaps he would even surpass his own achievements in the future.
"Madara, you're not thinking about training him immediately, are you? He's only three years old." Ciri noticed that thoughtful look.
When they were supposed to simply be playing with their son, he already seemed to be thinking about training.
"Why not?"
"I want to be strong!" Aren answered before the conversation could even continue.
"See? It's already decided." Madara smiled at Ciri.
"No, you're far too young," Ciri said immediately.
Even the other women cast narrow-eyed looks at Madara, clearly supporting Ciri. Madara looked at the three of them.
"We haven't even discussed that yet. After all, the most important thing we wanted was for Aren to accept us as his parents and to deal with the frustrations caused by our disappearance." He paused. "But there are some things I'd like to know."
Then he looked at Hilda. "Has Aren ever injured himself? What was the worst injury he's ever had? And what kind of illness has he ever caught?" The boy stared at him upon hearing that, curious.
The three women exchanged glances. And Hilda was the one who broke the silence.
"Well, he's never really hurt himself." She thought for a moment before continuing. "To tell the truth, he's fallen a few times, of course. But he's never had anything beyond some redness on his skin. He never even managed to scrape himself. And he's fallen while running on hard, rocky ground. Even so, I've never had to deal with any serious injury involving him."
"Not to mention he's never gotten sick either," Nenneke added.
She rested her chin on her hand as she spoke. "That's true. He's never gotten sick!" Ciri was happy to hear that.
She looked at Aren, who merely nodded with his little head. Madara remained silent for a few seconds.
"I also examined his interior." Everyone turned their attention to him. "His chakra flow is quite powerful, but also somewhat unstable. So he'll need to learn how to control it properly. Otherwise, that energy could end up becoming a problem in the future."
In the world of Naruto, you were either a shinobi or a civilian. It didn't matter much which category you ended up fitting into, but anyone born with an immense amount of chakra would inevitably have to deal with it.
That energy needed to be worked on. Even if he didn't follow the path of an assassin or warrior, he would still need to train, meditate, and learn to control it. Such a large amount of chakra, without proper control, would eventually cause accidents of all kinds.
He could even create elements out of thin air, which in this world would be seen as a magical explosion, or simply release energy in all directions.
Aren possessed an absurd amount of chakra for someone who was only three years old. Madara had to earn his own amount of power within the system over the years, unlocking abilities and gradually growing stronger.
Aren was different. He had already been born with that potential. From the very beginning, he was already extremely powerful.
That was why a child like him needed to be trained.
"Besides, I noticed that his body is quite strong," Madara continued. "So it's perfectly normal to hear that our son has never truly been injured or fallen ill."
Ciri nodded slowly.
"But he needs to be trained when it comes to chakra. So creating clones isn't something that impossible." Madara couldn't help but smile inwardly.
How old had he been when he managed to create his first fireball? He could hardly remember anymore.
Despite her dissatisfaction, Ciri merely sighed.
Her husband was right.
If Aren truly possessed as much chakra as it seemed, then he would need to learn how to control it. It wasn't just a matter of strength.
It was a matter of safety.
