The Ashbourne ancestor roared, "Then you leave us no choice."
The four ancestors moved.
At the same time, the Voidwalker Ancestor stepped forward. The starry barrier around Max expanded, and the broken dimensional rings above the abandoned end spun faster. The statue of the First Progenitor glowed even brighter, as if watching a scene that had happened once before, long ago, now repeating in front of its closed eyes.
Max's dragon claws dug into the ground. His voice rumbled behind the barrier.
"Ancestor."
The old man didn't turn back. But he answered.
"Stay behind me for now."
Max's dragon eyes narrowed.
The Voidwalker Ancestor's voice softened just slightly. "You've done enough. You woke up the fifth end. You forced the buried truth to the surface. Now let this old man do what he failed to do properly last time."
