Max had already witnessed the Heavenly Luminance Divine Dominion during Aurelian's battle against Morgana, but he knew perfectly well that Aurelian had not shown everything.
Someone raised as the Divine Son of the second faction could not possibly possess only that much, and this battle against Damian might finally drag more of it into the open.
Aurelian turned his head slightly and looked toward Max. For one brief moment their gazes met, and a faint smile touched Aurelian's face. It was calm, arrogant, and cold.
Max did not smile back.
