"You're just a guest here. There's no need for you to worry about the 2nd Division's business," Shin said, looking at Senjumaru.

"I think I've analyzed your personality pretty well by now," Senjumaru remarked, glancing at him.

When it came to work, he was incredibly lazy. However, that actually made him a good fit for the Zero Division, as there wasn't usually much work to be done in the Soul King Palace.

"Why not reconsider joining the Zero Division? If you join, life will be very relaxing. I think you should give it some serious thought," Senjumaru urged.

"I think you should stop bringing that up. I'm not joining the Zero Division, period."

Shin gave her a flat look. Sure enough, she hadn't given up.

"By the way, since you're staying in the 2nd Division barracks, you wouldn't mind helping out a bit, would you?" Shin asked suddenly.

Before Senjumaru could react, Shin pulled out a stack of paperwork and dumped it into her hands.

Yes, right into her hands. Senjumaru stared at the documents, falling into a stunned silence.

Silence mixed with speechlessness. She now fully understood just how shameless Shin could be.

"Captain, there's a mission."

Just then, a squad member entered the room and reported to Shin. It was a mission from Head Captain Yamamoto.

Shin glanced at the mission order. The moment he heard there was a mission, he had already guessed what it might be. Seeing it now, he realized his prediction was spot on.

It was exactly as he thought: a mission to the World of the Living to deal with Hollows.

It wasn't strange that Shin could guess this. Currently, almost all missions were related to the World of the Living. Unless it was a purge of Hueco Mundo, the assignment inevitably involved the human world.

"Alright, I got it. You can go," Shin said, waving the messenger away.

"Looks like I have to leave the Seireitei for a bit."

Shin wasn't particularly interested in the World of the Living. The human world's development was too slow in this era; there was no entertainment, and it was honestly less interesting than the Seireitei.

"Do you want me to accompany you?" Senjumaru asked.

"Accompany me? What for?"

Shin looked at her skeptically. "Why would I want you to come along?"

Honestly, Shin had no interest in a babysitter. Going alone gave him more freedom. Without waiting for a response, he set off.

Passing through the Senkaimon, he arrived in the World of the Living. The intelligence report stated that a group of Adjuchas-class Menos had entered the human world.

Shin found this strange. Why would Adjuchas run to the World of the Living? For ordinary Hollows, devouring human souls was a way to evolve. But for a middle-class Menos like an Adjuchas, eating human souls offered negligible gains.

Although human souls contained Reiryoku, the amount was pathetic compared to Hollows or Shinigami. It offered no benefit to an Adjuchas. Were they just here to go shopping?

Forget it. It wasn't worth overthinking. It wasn't Shin's job to figure out their motives; his job was simply to eliminate them.

He arrived in what would be the future Karakura Town—the Jureichi, or High Spirit Zone. This was the only place that would attract strong Hollows.

Shin looked bored. A mere Adjuchas wasn't worth his serious attention.

"Hiding?"

Shin couldn't see the Adjuchas immediately. It didn't matter. Even if it was hiding, Shin could find it.

He released a terrifying wave of Spiritual Pressure (Reiatsu), sweeping across the entire city to locate the target.

When Shin unleashed his Reiatsu, it immediately drew attention—specifically from the Visoreds and Kisuke Urahara.

"Oh dear, this isn't good. Captain Shin is in the World of the Living."

Kisuke Urahara wore his usual slightly punchable smile, but his eyes were solemn.

"I don't know why Captain Shin is here, but I need to lay low. Can't let him find me." Urahara honestly decided to hide.

There was no shame in hiding from Shin. Urahara was currently an exile from the Soul Society. If Shin caught him, it would be troublesome.

Shinji Hirako and the others were equally serious, suspecting Shin might be there to arrest them. The Soul Society hadn't given up on hunting them down, after all. They had encountered Captains before but had chosen to retreat.

"Found you."

Shin located the Adjuchas. In reality, neither Urahara nor the Visoreds could escape Shin's sensory net.

However, Shin had no intention of acting against them. It was meaningless. That wasn't his mission.

"I'll just do my job," Shin muttered. Other matters had nothing to do with him, and he wouldn't bother with them.

Arriving at a relatively remote area, Shin finally found the target: a green-skinned Adjuchas.

When Shin found it, the creature saw him too, as Shin hadn't bothered to conceal his presence.

"Hey. You see me, but you're not running?" Shin asked the Adjuchas.

He hadn't suppressed his Reiatsu at all. Even a Vasto Lorde would feel threatened by his presence, let alone an Adjuchas.

"Shinigami."

The Adjuchas stared at Shin gravely. It showed no intention of retreating; instead, it prepared to attack.

Seeing its stance, a playful smile appeared on Shin's face.

"You actually want to attack me? You were sent here on purpose, weren't you?" Shin asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Shinigami, die!"

The Adjuchas fired a Cero at Shin. A beam of destructive light shot instantly toward him.

Facing the attack, Shin didn't dodge or evade. He simply opened his hand and reached out to grab the Cero.

His palm made contact with the energy beam.

Upon impact, Shin's hand crushed the Cero instantly, shattering it as if the Adjuchas's attack were nothing more than a bad joke.
