Chapter 14 - Text imagination: Magic swordsmanship demonstration

"You swing your sword, cutting through hundreds of enemies in your path."

The sky has long since fallen and as a last stand humanity fights.

"But then, a monster catches you off guard, the only thing you can do is stare it in its eyes. Because your sword has already been swung."

Time seems to stop, as you realize your impending doom.

"Well, that's only if you hadn't learned magic!"

A magic circle appears in front of you in an instant!

*Boom!*

*Crack!*

"Although the barrier instantly shatters, it gives you enough time to move and cut off the monster's head."

*Swing!*

"But since the enemies are surrounding you, you decide to add wind magic to your sword to blow away the enemies."

*Whoosh!*

The ground crumbles under the whirlwind and you continue fighting with many kinds of magic.

"Fire to burn your enemies."

*Fwosh!*

Fire spreads to the left while your sword cuts the right.

"Telekinesis to stun your enemies."

You trip up your enemies and stop them in their tracks when they're too fast.

"Earth to create barriers and block attacks."

When you start getting surrounded, you start creating shields made from the earth to create space.

"And finally, a focused ball of magic to create an explosion big enough to wipe of all of your enemies."

Although you almost exhausted your magic, you focus everything into one last attack.

*Boom!*

And like that, you survived.

"Congratulations, you must be a god since you can multitask as if you have three hands."

"Honestly, could you write down the answer to hundreds of calculations while boxing?"

"And if you misspell the answer? You get killed."

"Maybe if only one or perhaps two spells were used. But at that point you may as well use hidden weapons."

In a nutshell, unless you're a national genius, becoming a magic swordsman is just a waste of time.

"So I've come up with a solution."

"Just use the magic before you start fighting."

*Whish.*

A small sphere of wind appeared and it started pushing forward, in front of me.

"Create a unique environment beneficial to you."

"Wind that occasionally makes it harder to see, magic that makes you blink in a critical moment."

"Fire that turns the battlefield into an oven, heating up their armour and their weapons."

"Use water or ice magic to cool yourself down, while everyone else suffers under heatstroke!"

"Telekinesis can be used to activate traps or maybe even create a trap while fighting. Although at that point you may as well use a magic circle."

"In a way, this way of using magic has a similar application to spirits. Spirits are valuable, not because of their firepower, but adaptability and because they can "set the stage", so to say."

"Anyway, that is my presentation on magic swordsmanship applications."

"I encourage you to think for yourself and find even more unique or better ways to apply magic to swordsmanship."

"Here's one last example."

The enemies were scorched.

Your body temperature never changed.

And hundreds of magical spikes were scattered throughout the battlefield.

When your enemies injured their feet, you recharged your magic.

You created a domain, only safe to yourself but deadly to your enemies.

"Thank you for reading."
