She had been wrong. Utterly, completely wrong.
Right now Meguri Shiromeguri regretted it with every fiber of her being. Why had she told Sis Haruno anything at all?
Why had she gone to Sis Haruno to pour out her troubles in the first place?
Back then she had clung to the hope that Sis Haruno could solve the whole problem of Lin Ye. In her mind, Sis Haruno was the all-capable Big Sister, the very embodiment of someone who could do anything.
Dealing with a problem like Lin Ye should have been almost too easy.
Yesterday Sis Haruno had dared to march straight into Sobu High to confront Lin Ye and settle the score.
That only convinced Meguri all the more that Sis Haruno held every card. Otherwise, why would she come to Sobu High to go after Lin Ye at all? In her eyes, Sis Haruno never fought a battle she wasn't sure of winning.
So she had waited, all this time, for good news from Sis Haruno.
And news had come. At first it had even been good news. She had received Sis Haruno's reply saying the matter was already resolved.
But the outcome, the outcome… turned out to be like this.
Sis Haruno had sacrificed herself. Sis Haruno had given up her own body, all to settle this one problem of Lin Ye.
Meguri's heart bled, and her body trembled.
She would rather have nothing at all, would rather bear everything herself, than let Sis Haruno endure all of this today.
Every mark scored into that snow-white, delicate skin struck at Meguri's heart, each one stoking her fury higher.
Murder.
In this moment she truly harbored the impulse to kill.
If it could avenge Sis Haruno and win back some justice, she was willing to do it.
Meguri was already turning it over in her mind: once she faced Lin Ye, how she would make him pay a bitter price.
What she could do, what she should do, what she was able to do.
"Sis Haruno, don't worry. I'll make Lin Ye pay. There's no way this ends so simply."
Meguri spoke up, making her promise to Haruno.
The vehement, oath-swearing look on her face was proof enough of the firm resolve she now held.
She could be hurt, but Sis Haruno could not. That was what she felt in this instant. Now that Sis Haruno had suffered such a vicious beating as punishment, she wanted to take revenge for her. She wanted Lin Ye to pay.
"Meguri, don't."
Hearing this, Haruno hurried to stop her.
Though, deep down, she really did want to see just how Meguri intended to make Lin Ye pay.
What could Meguri possibly do?
Maybe she'd bring her a surprise or two.
"No. Sis Haruno was bullied like this by that bastard for trying to protect me. I have to make that man pay. I have to, absolutely, without question."
She ground her teeth, wearing a rage that looked ready to devour Lin Ye whole.
"Meguri, it's over. Don't go making any more trouble for Lin-kun."
"No."
"You want to make trouble, but how exactly? Can you really handle Lin-kun, deal with someone like him?"
That single question left Meguri's mind briefly short-circuiting.
The more she thought, the less she could come up with any good method. She had never once succeeded before. Faced with Lin Ye's threats and violations in the past, she'd had no recourse at all, forced to let him take advantage of her.
And now, what better method could she possibly have?
Meguri could think of nothing.
"So, Meguri, it's over. Don't stir up new complications and make things worse."
It was the truth.
Faced with Sis Haruno's explanation, Meguri understood that reality was exactly so.
She had no good plan. The Sis Haruno she trusted so completely had already lost the fight, had been abused every which way last night. What better idea could she herself possibly have?
Meguri bit down hard on her red lips and clenched her fists, not wanting in the least to give up.
Unresigned. Yes, she was unresigned. She couldn't accept this reality. A moment ago she'd been declaring that she'd make Lin Ye pay dearly, and now, without having done a single thing, she was supposed to bow to the way things were.
How could that be allowed.
Meguri had a gentle disposition, yet within her lay a thread of strength and resolve. She would never allow those she cherished to be harmed.
"I have a way."
She had no choice but to bring out that one method once again.
She felt that dealing with Lin Ye left her with only that single option.
To protect Sis Haruno, to take revenge on Lin Ye, to make him pay a bitter price, this was all she could do.
Hearing this, Haruno blinked at once and gazed at Meguri like a curious child, and spoke up. "What method? Tell me about it."
Meguri pressed her lips shut and said nothing. She knew that in all likelihood Sis Haruno would stop her, would forbid her from doing it. So keeping quiet was best.
"What method, Meguri? If I know, I can help."
Help?
No, no. Sis Haruno, you can't help. You'd only stop me.
Meguri thought inwardly. "There's no need, Sis Haruno."
"Tell me. What method is it?"
"It's, it's nothing."
Meguri dodged the question, but that only made Haruno more curious. She wanted to know now. She guessed even more firmly that Meguri must be preparing to use some unconventional means.
All the more reason she had to find out.
"Tell me."
"Really, it's nothing."
"Meguri, I'm getting angry. You're not planning to do something foolish, are you?"
"No, no, nothing…"
But her tone was exactly that of someone caught out, tense and flustered.
Haruno could say with certainty that Meguri was preparing to use some extreme method.
"Don't do it. There's no need."
" "
"This does no good for you, for him, or for me."
"It does. He has to pay."
Meguri said through gritted teeth. Looking at the marks on Haruno's body, she felt worse and worse inside.
"If this is for my sake, then I can tell you: there's no need."
That gave Meguri a start.
"I don't need it at all. Everything last night, I did willingly."
"How could it possibly have been willing?"
Meguri didn't believe a single word.
She would never believe Sis Haruno had done it willingly.
How could there be anything willing about a thing like that.
"When Meguri was bullied those past few days, was that willing?"
Of course not.
But she hadn't resisted either.
"No, he threatened me, and in the end I… gave in."
"But you didn't resist, did you?"
"…"
"Last night was different from you, Meguri. I did it all willingly. So this matter is already over. Let it end here, Meguri. I don't want anything to happen."
But in truth, she hoped something would happen.
She wanted to see just how far Meguri could go.

Still she didn't agree.
Even if only to set Sis Haruno's mind at ease, she wouldn't utter a lie just to comfort her.
"You can't beat him."
Those words made Meguri's heart sink.
She truly couldn't beat him.
But if she went in with a devil-may-care, nothing-left-to-lose mindset, the situation would be different. So—
At the very least she could spare Sis Haruno further trouble.
That was the one thing she could do.
"Just leave it to me."
Meguri said softly.
She had already made up her mind.
Haruno, meanwhile, was pondering what method Meguri would use.
By her guess, it was probably that one kind of method.
With no better option available now, only that one method remained.

The lock on the room door suddenly rattled with an odd sound.
Meguri's gaze turned instinctively toward the doorway.
Haruno's gaze did the same, but the corner of her mouth curved into a faint smile.
It was the smile of someone who had been waiting a long time.
Lin Ye had finally arrived.
At this hour, no one but Lin Ye would be coming back.
She had contacted Meguri to come at noon, and sent Lin Ye out to eat and buy a lunch to bring back. That had been the whole plan.
What would happen next?
Haruno waited.
In no time at all, the door swung fully open.
A man with an upright, striking figure stepped inside.
It was Lin Ye.
Lin Ye looked at Haruno inside the room, and at the extra girl present, and a flicker of surprise crossed his face before vanishing.
At this hour, classes at Sobu High weren't even over. How could Meguri, a member of the Sobu High Student Council, be here?
In the blink of an eye, Lin Ye reached his conclusion. He figured Haruno had contacted Meguri and brought her here.
As for why?
He couldn't work it out, but it was certainly nothing good.
"The President's here too."
Lin Ye stepped in and, as he shut the door, greeted Meguri.
"I'm here."
Meguri noticed the bag Lin Ye carried in his hand, a faint aroma of cooked food drifting from it. She knew it was the takeout lunch Lin Ye had brought back.
Probably brought for Sis Haruno.
But it did nothing to change Meguri's attitude toward Lin Ye.
"So you've come today, President. Is there something you need?"
Lin Ye asked directly.
But he caught the intense revulsion in Meguri's eyes, and guessed that Haruno had once again filled Meguri's head with certain ideas.
Probably she'd spun last night's events with plenty of embellishment for Meguri, painting him as a great villain who abused women.
Not that such an image hadn't long since taken root in people's minds anyway.
Lin Ye no longer intended to change it.
"I came to check on Sis Haruno."
Meguri glanced from the corner of her eye at Haruno Yukinoshita beside and behind her. "Student Lin, you really are heartless, treating a girl this way."
The marks on Haruno's body made her heart ache just to look at them.
She could hardly imagine what inhuman treatment Sis Haruno had suffered last night.
"This is the punishment Sis Haruno deserved. There's no need to read into it, President."
"Deserved?"
Hearing that, Meguri's anger flared from nowhere.
What punishment could Sis Haruno possibly deserve? Absolutely none.
She glared at Lin Ye, deeply displeased, and went on, "What did Sis Haruno do wrong that needed you to punish her like this?"
"Don't ask too much, President. Even if you ask, I won't tell you."
"You have no excuse. You just cruelly abused Sis Haruno to satisfy your own selfish desires. You, you… you… you'd have been better off dealing with me. I'll let you do whatever you want."
These were Meguri's true feelings.
Given the choice between the two, she would rather bear the suffering herself.
"There are some things you don't understand, President."
"Since I don't understand, then tell me!"
That was Meguri's thought. She wanted to know, but even more she believed Lin Ye had no reason at all and was only fishing for an excuse.
"There's nothing to say."
Not wanting to keep tangling with her, Lin Ye took a few steps over to the two of them. "Miss Haruno, lunch. President, if you haven't eaten, you can have some too. I brought back enough for both girls."
Haruno had already eaten a little, but it wasn't enough.
She took it and opened the packaging. "Meguri, eat some with me."
"No need, Sis Haruno."
Meguri declined.
She hadn't expected Lin Ye to come, and from the familiar way he moved, it clearly wasn't his first or second time here.
This wasn't Sis Haruno's home, after all, but Yukino Yukinoshita's home.
She found it a little strange.
But thinking it over, with Sis Haruno here, it was probably Sis Haruno who had allowed Lin Ye to come.
So Meguri didn't dwell on it any further.
She thought about what she should do next.
Do it, or not do it.
Watching Sis Haruno eat with such satisfaction, she realized Sis Haruno must have suffered terribly last night.
At the thought, her heart ached again.
It was all the fault of that bastard Lin Ye.
How she longed to avenge Sis Haruno.
Meguri sat to one side, thinking.
Lin Ye, meanwhile, walked to the window and gazed out at the Chiba scenery.
When he was bored, he always chose to look out at the view to calm his mood.
It gave him a sense of being alive, of being able to feel himself.
After sitting a while, Meguri came over to Lin Ye's side.
"I want to talk with you alone."
"Talk about what?"
"What you did to Sis Haruno."
"You can rest assured, she was willing."
"Even so, I still want to talk."
Meguri's attitude was firm.
She simply had to have an answer.
Lin Ye thought it over and agreed. "Let's borrow the guest room."
"Right here is fine. I won't listen."
You could hear us just fine from right here.
Meguri thought.
In the end, Lin Ye and Meguri went to the guest room.
Last night Haruno had slept in that very guest room.
The traces of disarray set Meguri's mind wandering in ceaseless associations.
Despicable.
This man, she loathed him utterly.
"Tell me. Last night, how did you treat and abuse Sis Haruno?"
Meguri pressed her lips and glared, demanding Lin Ye lay out the scene from last night.
"How about Senpai experiences it firsthand?"
Lin Ye figured that rather than explain, it was better to simply get hands-on.
That way, he thought, he could make Meguri drop certain notions.
Meguri, for her part, felt that Lin Ye had designs on her again just now.
But it wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
Lin Ye had already taken advantage of her before; this was nothing.
"Fine."
Meguri agreed.
"Good. Since Senpai agrees, then sit down over there."
"Do I take off my clothes?"
"Your shoes."
Meguri sat down on the edge of the bed without a word, took off her shoes and socks, exposing a pair of exquisite, tender feet.
Lin Ye gave them an extra glance.
"And then?"
"And then, of course…"
Lin Ye set to work.
In an instant, under the stimulation Meguri began to writhe, letting out a sound. She tried to control it, but she simply couldn't hold it back.
"Mmh, mmh…"
"Let, let go…"
But Lin Ye paid no heed.
To make Meguri give up certain ideas sooner, to make her fear him too, this time Lin Ye put his full effort into it.
Only, compared to how he'd dealt with Haruno, he went easy on Meguri, not dragging it out too long, lasting only about two minutes.
But in those two minutes, Meguri seemed already half undone, collapsed limp on the bed, breathless and weak, her forehead misted with fragrant sweat, a look that carried a seductive charm all its own.
Even Lin Ye gave her a couple of extra glances.
And in the living room, Haruno heard the sounds from within and knew what was happening inside the guest room.
Letting Meguri experience it for herself, that wasn't bad either.
So she thought.
