The Sword of Annihilation descended once again onto the figment of reality. Hyperion could barely react before the blackish light consumed it whole. It took one instant, and it was enough. The Great Aberrant of the Heavens, weakened by Francine and Alastair fell.
It was a victory, but the New World paid a costly price. Of the many experts that joined the battle, only a few remained. Coastal cities were riddled with devastations, the casualties ranging from one to a hundred million.
The final battle reminded humanity and the vampires of the fear that Aberrants brought into countless worlds. A reminder that their peace wasn't a define concept of reality. It was something that must be hard fought, even in the brink of destruction.
