"Tell me if I'm going crazy or did I see Danilo whilst I was on stage?" I gratefully took the small towel from Franz, my personal assistant, who already had a bottle of water ready for me. He took my earpiece too, passing it off to one of the stage crew as we moved through the chaos backstage.
Cables snaking across the floor, monitors glowing, fifty people moving at once, shouting into headsets, breaking down equipment under those blinding white bulbs. The smell of smoke and sweat and spilled beer. Someone was already popping champagne for the mini celebration.
And me? I was trying to remember how to breathe.
We had to mingle with VIPs after this. Even though I was exhausted. Even though I wanted to go home and sleep for a week.
But I was doubting my sanity.
