Michael sighed as the sun slowly crept over the horizon. Gabriel who also wore a tired expression walked close to his left, as the last three or four hours the trio had rarely spoken.
Aside from Azure that is, who never missed a moment to give a remark or pass on his so called knowledge.
Although he was quite eccentric and over the top, Michael didn't actually mind his company.
It was far different from Unity who could find themselves in very tense moods almost all of the time.
"Something on your mind, mate?" Azure asked as they continued down a crooked path surrounded by thick and swampy trees.
"No..." Michael quickly shook his head, before Azure brushed his ivory hair aside and chuckled with a carefree shrug.
"Actually... Yeah something is on my mind..." Michael quickly said with a sigh as the took several more quick steps down the crooked road.
Gabriel lifted an eyebrow and scoffed at Michael being so friendly to the third member of their small party.
"What's up, mate?" Azure asked, his expression dimming a little and just a single ounce of seriousness and what could have been curiosity slipped into his facial features.
"How are you so like? How do I say this?" Michael couldn't find the right words to say as Gabriel decided to answer for him.
"Annoying?" Which caused Azure to make a pouty face at the son of Envy.
"No, I mean joyous I guess. Like how can you be so carefree in the world that we live in?" Michael found the right words which made Azure cock an eyebrow and chuckle once more.
"Believe me mate, If this is carefree to you, then you must be the most worrying man alive!" Azure laughed again, before silence shrouded the three of them in an instance.
Far beyond the thick vine-covered trees and crooked ancient road... Lie a small shack.
"How convenient..." Azure muttered with a satisfied cock of his head.
Michael looked up at the stars beginning to consume the sky and sighed.
"At least we get shelter from the rain tonight..." Which was true, as they had slept (Or at least tried to sleep) under the veils of rain within the swamplands for several weeks now.
"Have I mentioned how slow you lot are?" Azure frowned, as if an idea had suddenly formed for the first time in the seaweed that was his brain.
"Do you have a horse?" Michael asked, still eyeing the shack quite a while down the road.
"No, but I used to have winged dolphins!" The remark made Gabriel throw his head back with annoyed exhale.
"Believe me, mate. You will get your bloody trident back after this adventure! Stop being such a killjoy... Anywho, movement. You would bloody think that with abilities such as yourselves, you would have far more efficient ways of traversing vast areas..." Azure scratched the short ivory hairs on his chin and thought to himself.
"Aight, I'll just show you lot." He sighed, before the ground began to vibrate slightly and Azure's eyes began to glow a faint blue hue.
"What are you doing?" Michael asked with the tilt of his head as the mud below them began to drizzle with tiny streams of water.
"Wait..." Gabriel said, not a question, but a demand as he could feel something that Michael couldn't...
Movement beyond the ground below.
Azure grinned as the small streams of water began to defy gravity and move upwards, wrapping around his ankles and lifting him upward into a hovering position.
"Although I prefer the dolphins... This makes due as well." Then... Azure began to flow through the air as if gravity had no affect on him at all.
He spun upside down as streams of water flowed through the air, wrapping around his entire body like one of Neveah's barriers.
However, it was clear that Azure could still breathe within his cocoon of water.
"I'll race you lot to the shack!" Before they knew it, Azure was soaring through the air like a comet as the water beckoned to his every will.
"Shit..." Gabriel muttered, before lowering his body and touching the wet earth with his bare hand.
"Listen!" He yelled at the ground like a psychopath before spewing out nonsense, as if talking to the water like a disobedient pet.
Michael on the other hand... Took a different approach, as he lifted his right hand and pointed his palm downward while positioning his body into a surfing-styled posture.
Michael exhaled deeply, feeling the tightening around the shell of his catalyst as cold mist began to radiate from his palm.
He thought of a simple shape...
A large slide of ice...
An entire glacier began to grow from the cold skin of his palm.
But he had one more problem to deal with, as he had no way to propel himself forward.
So he did the only thing he found reasonable in that moment.
He pointed his left palm backwards, and fired off a powerful burst of ice allowing the momentum to shoot him forward.
The next thing he knew... He was propelled probably twenty meters into the air as the forest below grew smaller and the obelisk of the kingdom of Orion could be seen in the far distance.
He took a shaky breath as he took in the view, not allowing himself to get too caught up in said view, as he had to continue to form ice as his momentum carried him forward.
When he needed to go up, he would angle his body and reshape his ice while giving off another burst, and then he could go down by angling downward and using the momentum of gravity to carry him even faster.
A small childish part of Michael wanted to scream out in joy at the adrenaline of what could have been called a roller coaster, although he didn't even know what that word meant.
He slid down at an astonishing speed, growing closer and closer to Azure who was lazily flipping and spinning in the air as he felt that neither of them could catch up... Until Michael did catch up.
Soaring beside Azure, he grinned and shot another burst of ice as his body rocketed forward and past the man of the sea.
Behind him...
Michael only seen it for a second... But when water began to creep into his boots... He nearly lost concentration from surprise...
Gabriel was using his glacier as a water slide, catching up to the both of them at an even faster speed.
"BOLUCKS!" Azure yelled as a massive burst of water shot him forward, sending him straight at the shack, before his water instantly caught him in motion and stopped him just shy of hitting the wooden shed.
Michael easily slid to the ground and landed with a satisfying skid and a deep misty exhale, with an even deeper inhale of exhaustion as he could feel the cold heavy beating of his heart.
Then... Gabriel soared down the final slope... Launching straight into a tree...
Azure lit up with laughter as Gabriel's momentum had been used against him by natural forces.
"Perhaps... You should account for the laws of physics next time, mate!"
