Chapter 616 - The King's Arsenal

[Rusted Sword: Special Attack, Physical Attack increased by 50%, first attack each battle guaranteed to deal 2x damage. (Note: Awakens full power when recognized by a certain Pokemon)]

Whether the Rusted Sword or the Rusted Shield, both contained notation about awakening full power after being recognized by a certain Pokemon.

John didn't know whether failing to awaken their complete power would affect the final result.

But for safety's sake, perhaps it was better to awaken the power within before forging the Divine Item.

"Do I really need to track down Zacian and Zamazenta like I did with Suicune?" John frowned. Those two Pokemon frequently concealed their movements and hid their auras, unlike Suicune who raced around everywhere openly.

Therefore, they'd definitely be far harder to find than Suicune had been.

Gardevoir, bound to John through their connection, immediately sensed its master's hesitation. It raised one hand and used Psychic to levitate the two Rusted Shields and single Rusted Sword over.

"Nai!" Gardevoir nodded confidently.

Closing its eyes briefly, Gardevoir actively triggered the evolutionary power within her Mega Stone, transforming into Mega Gardevoir. She even summoned her Divine Treasure, the Space-Time Fairy Crown.

Then, Mega Gardevoir simply inserted the Rusted Shields and Rusted Sword directly into a temporal rift.

Within moments, it retrieved the two shields and one sword.

What appeared before John was no longer the tattered, characterless broken sword and broken shields. Instead, he beheld a sacred sword embedded with crimson sapphire and golden metal, along with two massive golden shields that retained flame-burning crimson patterns!

[King's Sword: Special Attack, Physical Attack increased by 100%, first three attacks each battle guaranteed to deal 2x damage. Comes with skill "Behemoth Blade"]

[King's Shield: Special Defense, Physical Defense increased by 100%, negates damage from first three attacks each battle. Negates ineffective damage entirely. Comes with skill "Behemoth Bash"]

Physical and Special Attack directly doubled.

Physical and Special Defense also doubled.

But compared to normal Divine Treasures, these abilities were even more absurdly powerful. However... they didn't carry skill power amplification bonuses. Instead, they provided the first three attacks each battle dealing double damage, and completely negating damage from the first three hits.

Combined with the signature moves Behemoth Blade and Behemoth Bash.

This truly reached the upper-tier standard among Legendary Pokemon levels.

"How did you do this?" John asked Gardevoir curiously.

"Garde-Gardevoir~" Mega Gardevoir explained its methodology.

John could only think one thing, it was insanely powerful. Pure, overwhelming force.

Gardevoir had gone with the most direct approach imaginable.

Her reasoning was simple: since the Rusted Shield and Rusted Sword were currently rusted, that meant they'd once been perfect and undamaged. If that was the case, simply return them to their un-rusted temporal point.

Therefore, Gardevoir inserted the two items into a temporal rift and forcibly reversed time on their existence, ultimately extracting them at the temporal point before they'd ever decayed and rusted.

Regarding such operations, John could only say one thing:

"Absolutely broken."

Still, even if other Legendary Pokemon could manipulate time, they'd need either Dialga or Celebi's cooperation. And even with their help, successfully extracting items from specific temporal coordinates would be extraordinarily difficult.

Only Gardevoir, which had condensed the Space-Time Fairy Crown and could freely manipulate temporal and spatial forces, could accomplish such a feat so casually.

"Aggron, condense your Divine Treasure."

Aggron stepped forward with its heavy, ponderous footsteps, approaching John and picking up each item from the ground one by one..

Since these two items were already restored to peak condition, they wouldn't require much time, they could be used immediately.

"Mega Evolution!" John gestured.

ROAR!!

Aggron's body immediately erupted with blinding rainbow light!

When the rainbow radiance dissipated, standing before John and the assembled Pokemon was an even more massive, more powerfully built giant beast, Mega Aggron.

After Mega Evolution, Mega Aggron's overwhelming presence suddenly diminished somewhat.

It took the King's Sword and King's Shields in hand, sequentially converting them into its own power, absorbing their essence.

However, Mega Aggron didn't possess Gardevoir's ability to precisely measure and adjust every ounce of power. Therefore, it simply removed portions most incompatible with its fighting style. The Fairy-type attributes weren't particularly important anyway.

Within moments, with Mega Aggron at the center, Steel-type energy erupted, sometimes silver-white, sometimes storm-gray, enveloping its towering body within.

John could sense Mega Aggron's power increasing at a visually perceptible rate.

He had reason to believe that once the Divine Treasure was fully forged, this would be an existence capable of rivaling Legendary Pokemon in power.

They didn't have to wait long. The silver-metallic Steel-type energy storm gradually dissipated, revealing Mega Aggron's form.

John immediately examined the Divine Treasure Mega Aggron had condensed.

Curiously, Aggron's Treasure's appeared somewhat understated. It retained the form of its favorite held item, the Metal Coat styled as gauntlets. However, the difference was that these gauntlets now featured crimson and sapphire gemstones embedded within, along with engravings of the King's Sword and King's Shields patterns.

Compared to the original, they possessed an additional sense of imagination and precious magnificence.

John hurriedly opened his Gameboy to examine this Divine Item's attributes.
