Chapter 589 - Chapter 589: Finding Something for Garou to Do

The Galactic Patrol headquarters' prison was shaped like a honeycomb apartment complex.

On the walls of an incredibly spacious white square hall, white squares were embedded—inside these squares were the cells where prisoners lived.

The surface of each cell was sealed with specially made glass. Some particularly powerful prisoners also wore shackles that sealed their power, preventing these prisoners from escaping their cells.

Don't look down on the Galactic Patrol's strength—they couldn't even beat adult Saiyans, and their power didn't seem strong—but their research capabilities were quite formidable.

In the original work, even Moro was almost caught by a special barrier developed by the Galactic Patrol, which shows how powerful the things they developed were.

So these seemingly ordinary glass cells could imprison these fairly powerful criminals and prevent them from breaking through to escape.

Of course, now these glass barriers meant to block criminals had a new advantage—they allowed prisoners to see through the glass to watch battles in the prison's main hall.

That's right, a simple and brutal battle was currently taking place in the prison's main hall.

The two sides of the battle were two bare-handed figures. One side wore the galaxy prison's prisoner uniform—a green-skinned alien prisoner who looked somewhat like an aberrant offspring of a Namekian.

Namekians could not only create offspring through laying eggs, but could also create creatures resembling Namekians—just like the "demons" created by old Demon King Piccolo.

According to the Galactic Patrol's account, this prisoner was very ancient and was likely a creature birthed by some Namekian before Planet Namek's destruction.

Fighting against it was another figure—Garou.

"You human are quite interesting. Your strength is good, and you use strange martial arts."

The creature resembling a Namekian used its thick four limbs to launch continuous attacks on Garou's body while grinning and shouting.

"But it's not enough! You dare challenge me with just this level!?"

Garou didn't respond but continued to withstand the opponent's attacks. However, from his eyes, one could see he'd been accumulating anger while taking hits.

Soon, as the opponent's next attack fell, Garou finally caught an opportunity—he saw the opponent pause for a breath, leaving an opening.

"This is the chance! Your fighting style is too crude!"

Garou grinned and almost instantly launched a fierce punch toward the opening in the opponent's body—this punch carried the "ki" usage he'd learned from Zuke.

The Turtle School training had allowed him to completely integrate "ki" into his martial arts. This punch struck the strange creature's stomach and instantly sent it flying.

Most space aliens' techniques were quite crude, unlike Earth's refined martial arts, so the opponent completely took Garou's attack and was knocked unconscious by the "ki."

It fell to the ground, unconscious. Even after Garou stood before it for over a minute, the opponent showed no signs of getting up.

If not for the slight rise and fall of its belly, one might think it had died.

The next moment, amazing cheers erupted in the galaxy prison—these sounds came from the cells in the prison. The prisoners watched through the glass, clearly seeing the fight between Garou and that prisoner.

"Amazing, that human defeated another one, and it was another one-hit kill!"

"So many guys before were counter-attacked and defeated, why don't the new guys learn? Let me go instead, I'll fight that guy!"

"What a joke, of course I should go! My strength was the strongest on my entire planet!"

The prisoners' noisy voices were almost all full of interest in Garou—obviously, compared to the usual prison yard time, fighting with Garou would be more exciting.

Almost all prisoners caught here were troublemakers, and their desire for battle was far stronger than ordinary people.

Garou had already defeated several prisoners in a row. This level of strength was enough to excite the prisoners in the galaxy prison, who all wanted to come out and spar with Garou.

Standing in the center of the galaxy prison hall, Garou also showed a fierce smile—he was obviously excited about this kind of challenge too.

Sparring with strong opponents and gradually becoming stronger—wasn't this what he'd been doing all along?

"Mr. Garou is really amazing, he's already defeated several prisoners."

In the Galactic Patrol headquarters hall, Jaco watched Garou bully prisoners and felt somewhat envious.

Now Garou's battle power had exceeded one thousand points, so naturally most prisoners in the galaxy prison couldn't beat him.

As long as the Galactic Patrol didn't have a brain freeze and release some particularly powerful prisoners who'd been caught by fluke, there'd be no problem.

And even if they accidentally released one, it didn't matter... Because the most dangerous one in the galaxy prison was Moro, and now Moro had been dealt with.

The remaining somewhat powerful prisoners, even if accidentally released, could be instantly handled by Merus—not as troublesome as Moro.

"Then for the next few days, let Garou train well here. I think he'll be quite happy about it."

Zuke also watched through the monitor as Garou fought prisoners there, nodded, then patted Jaco's shoulder and said to him.

Although Jaco was somewhat timid, he had no problem handling miscellaneous tasks. Having him help watch over Garou shouldn't be a problem.

"Eh? You're leaving?"

Jaco was startled, then quickly turned to look at Zuke and asked nervously.

He could see that Garou was a troublemaker who listened to no one except Zuke.

He didn't have confidence he could manage Garou. If Zuke left and Garou suddenly went crazy, how would he stop him?

"Don't worry, I've already told him. He won't cause trouble. Just let him go to the prison regularly to fight prisoners in the arena."

Zuke said with a smile, then disappeared from the Galactic Patrol headquarters hall with instant transmission, not even giving Jaco a chance to object further.

Jaco could only stare blankly at the now-empty floor before him, speechless and choking back tears, praying in his heart that Garou wouldn't cause trouble.

Of course, what he didn't know was that Garou didn't dare cause trouble at Galactic Patrol headquarters—because Merus was here.

Although Garou didn't know Merus' strength, he knew Merus was someone who could have equal conversations with Zuke.

And Garou, who had already determined in his heart that Zuke's strength was far beyond what he could reach, naturally didn't dare act recklessly on Merus' turf.
