Rolla stepped away from the table without saying a word to his homie. He just picked up the small black burner phone, tapped the screen, and turned the speaker toward Ryder.
The tiny speaker buzzed, filling the silent room with Ryder's own voice. It was the same audio clip that Ava has played for him before. As they listened to it, a low rumble started across the pod.
"Fucking rat!" an inmate from the Coronas yelled, pointing across the floor. "Queens got snitches running this pod!" he shouted as he knew everyone would back him up on this.
"Put that rat down!" another voice barked from the Bronx side, as they couldn't ask for a better opportunity to say what they truly feel.
Rolla walked straight up to Ryder. His face was pale and his eyes were completely red. He stopped inches away from him, his chest heaving under his orange uniform.
