With a proud grin, he announced, "I'm Draco Malfoy, and I've got a real legendary item right here! I bet I'm the only first-year with one."
Ron, standing next to Harry, couldn't help but smirk, which immediately earned him a cold glare from Malfoy.
"What's so funny? You think I'm lying?"
Malfoy sneered, eyeing Ron's red hair and shabby clothes with obvious disdain.
"You must be one of those Weasleys, just a bunch of poor kids."
Ron shot back, "Better than your Malfoy family, who just sits around doing..."
"Nothing. What kind of legendary item do you even have?"
Malfoy, assuming Ron didn't believe him, pulled out an object and held it high.
"Look! This is the real deal, my Hurricane Staff!"
At first, the younger wizards gasped in awe when they saw the shimmering magical object.
But as they got a closer look, laughter quietly spread among them.
The staff was hard to describe, it was a small stick, less than a foot long.
The silver metal tip was nothing special, but the handle was shaped like a hollow heart embedded with pink crystals.
A swirling magical light spun at the center, proving it was genuine magic.
One of the kids snickered, "You call that a legendary item? What, are you going to transform into Sailor Moon or something?"
Ron occasionally came into contact with Muggles around the Burrow, and from them, the Muggle boy picked up some unusual bits of knowledge.
"Don't underestimate my Hurricane Wand," Malfoy warned, waving it confidently. "It can control the wind directly. Be careful, or I'll blow you right up into the sky in one breath!"
Seeing his beloved wand being mocked, Malfoy suddenly grew flustered, his cheeks turning red.
The wand in his hand really did look a bit... girly.
If a girl were holding it, everyone might call it cute, but in Malfoy's hands, it felt oddly out of place, like a strong man wearing bunny ears.
Everyone around shot Malfoy amused looks, and Ron burst out laughing, clutching his stomach.
"Damn it!" Malfoy snapped, blushing even more at Ron's laughter.
In frustration, he pointed the wand at Ron and shouted, "Dare to laugh at me? I'll show you how powerful it really is, get ready to be blown away!"
At Malfoy's angry command, a fierce whirlwind suddenly gathered around Ron's feet, lifting him off the ground.
Harry, standing nearby, immediately grew worried and pushed Ron out of the way, only to find himself caught in the swirling wind instead.
The whirlwind spun faster and faster, lifting Harry nearly a meter into the air.
Just then, the bright emblem on Harry's chest flashed a brilliant blue light, and with a swift 'swish,' Harry vanished from the whirlwind, reappearing several meters away.
"Wow, that boy's got legendary gear too!" the crowd murmured in surprise.
Malfoy's wand could summon a whirlwind, but Harry's sudden teleportation left everyone wide-eyed.
"Look at the scar on his forehead, that's Harry Potter!" someone exclaimed as the wind tousled Harry's hair.
"H-Harry Potter?" Malfoy repeated, his anger fading as he stared at Harry with surprise.
Meanwhile, Ron, who had been shoved and staggered, realized Malfoy had been attacking him and grabbed Malfoy's collar in frustration.
Whether it was Ron or Harry caught in that whirlwind, falling would be inevitable, and could easily lead to serious injury if they weren't careful.
Malfoy, still just a kid, realized he had lost control of his emotions and was feeling a bit nervous, though his stubbornness remained unchanged.
"You… you dare laugh at me?" he stammered, trying to regain his composure.
Meanwhile, Harry, who had just been teleported away by the Shining, was coming to his senses.
Seeing his friends stepping in to help, he was about to rush forward when he noticed the three freshmen beginning to wrestle.
Suddenly, a towering figure appeared beside them, it was Hagrid.
"Enough!" he boomed, separating the group. "Stop causing trouble right in front of Hogwarts. Do you want to get expelled before you even start school?"
Turning to Harry, Hagrid asked, "Are you alright? You didn't get hurt, did you?"
Harry shook his head and patted himself down.
"I'm fine."
Relieved, Hagrid chuckled softly, still catching his breath from the sudden commotion.
Then, his expression hardened as he glared at Malfoy.
"Listen, kid, pay attention. If I catch you using alchemy props recklessly again, I'll have to report it to Professor McGonagall and get them confiscated."
Malfoy's eyes widened in fear, and he nodded quickly, clutching his treasured wand tightly to his chest.
After making sure Harry was alright, Hagrid gently set both boys down and turned to Ron, who still looked like he was about to explode with anger.
"Don't start fighting before we get to school, or we'll all be in trouble!"
Having spent many years dealing with Alex, Hagrid had grown calmer and wiser.
He knew the most important thing now was to get these kids safely back to Hogwarts.
The trouble Malfoy caused with those alchemy gadgets could be dealt with later.
Ron, realizing Hagrid was right, cast a sharp look at Malfoy before rushing over to Harry's side.
"Alright, enough joking around. Everyone, follow me! We've got a long way to go."
With that, Hagrid lifted his lantern and led the way through the dark path.
Malfoy, clearly intimidated by Hagrid's presence and aware that he'd caused a scene in front of everyone, suddenly seemed more subdued.
Yet he kept glancing at Harry with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty.
Malfoy's interest in Harry wasn't just because Harry had some legendary item on him, it was also because he wanted to impress his father by getting close to the famous Potter.
Kids Malfoy's age had all heard the stories about Harry Potter, especially the one that said Harry defeated Voldemort all on his own, making him a potential next Dark Lord.
Lucius Malfoy, his father, strongly believed this, so Malfoy thought befriending Harry would earn him major points at home.
That's why his rocky start with Harry before school felt embarrassing to him.
At the same time, Malfoy began doubting his father's theory, if Harry was truly dark and dangerous, how could he be friendly with the Weasleys?
Meanwhile, Ron leaned in toward Harry with a scowl still on his face.
"Good thing that guy showed up, or I'd have had to teach him a lesson."
Then, casting a worried glance at Harry, he added, "Are you okay? Luckily, you pushed me away, or I'd have made a complete fool of myself."
"I'm fine," Harry replied calmly.
Harry shook his head with a smile and placed his hand on his chest again.
"It was The Shining that saved me. It can teleport me away whenever I'm in danger."
"That's awesome!" Ron said, slipping back into his usual teasing mood. "If you want me to admit that your legendary item is way cooler than Malfoy's, then fine. I mean, the poor guy carries around such a cute little cane."
But then Ron's tone grew a bit sour.
"Still, that bastard actually managed to win a legendary item. I've opened so many blind boxes and got nothing. Merlin must be blind or something."
"What? You know him?" Harry asked, curious.
The whirlwind that had swept him away earlier had surprised him, but thinking back, it wasn't too extreme.
He'd been lifted about a meter off the ground, but it wasn't like he would have fallen hard, so he didn't worry too much.
"I don't know him personally," Ron whispered as he leaned closer, "but I've heard about the Malfoy family.
His dad, Lucius, was a Death Eater, but after that mysterious guy disappeared, their family was the first to surrender.
They claimed they were under some spell from that mysterious man, but my dad never bought it."
