After organizing everything at the warehouse base, Alex shifted his focus entirely to managing the magical creatures in the breeding place. The real challenge turned out to be these creatures.
Before Newt arrived, Alex hadn't realized just how many magical animals needed care and housing. Thanks to his foresight, plenty of food, medicine, and supplies were ready, but even with that, Newt's oversized suitcase wasn't nearly big enough to handle all the creatures at once.
On top of that, there were many different types, flying, land-dwelling, and aquatic magical animals, which made the relocation process slow and complicated. They couldn't just release the creatures into the place either, since it was enemy territory and too risky.
So Newt had no choice but to push himself, traveling back and forth between the UK and Germany without much rest. Alex estimated it would take at least three days to move all the magical animals out of the place.
Unfortunately, no one had a better solution. Luckily, Alex had just acquired a pair of Vanishing Cabinets, which made traveling between the two countries much easier, no more complicated or exhausting Portkey journeys.
He told Newt to take one of the cabinets back to England along with the first batch of magical animal using portkeys. After settling the creatures there, Newt would use the cabinet to return directly to Germany.
The plan was to keep shipping batches continuously, knowing their time was tight. Alex was well aware that the disappearance of Claremont and others would soon raise suspicions within the club, so they had to move quickly.
Lately, the volume of smuggled cargo had dropped sharply, so the Silver Wand started using magical creatures from the place to make up for it. In just a few days, the time for transshipment would arrive, and members of the Silver Wand club would definitely reach out to the place then.
That would make things much easier but would also risk exposing both the inside and outside of the place. Aside from speeding up the transfer, Alex didn't have any better options. After all, he wasn't some kind of god who could magically summon hundreds of people out of nowhere.
Thankfully, they had Newt's enchanted suitcase and Alex's vanishing cabinet, which significantly boosted their transportation speed. On top of that, Alex, Hagrid, Newt, Professor Kettleburn, and others personally stepped in to control the more dangerous magical creatures.
The rest of the Aurors, including Shalltear who had just rejoined the team, as well as non-human allies like Fang and Thor, were all fully committed. With everyone working together, the entire transfer went smoothly without too many complications.
After two and a half days of nonstop work, about twenty people and two animals managed to transport all the magical creatures out of Germany. Over the past couple of days, everyone had been running around so much that whenever they felt tired or sleepy, they relied on potions to keep going.
This kind of intense effort was tough even for young people like Alex, not to mention older folks like Newt and Amelia. By the time the job was done, Alex noticed Newt was close to collapsing, and only the more resilient beings like Hagrid and Shalltear were still fully awake.
But all that hard work paid off, over a thousand magical animals were successfully relocated. Among them were nearly a hundred Mooncalf and Tebo warthogs, which Alex kept in his suitcase.
It wasn't because he was greedy or wanted to hoard food; rather, the truth was that there weren't many places in the UK where these magical creatures could be safely housed. It wasn't a matter of space, but of secrecy, ensuring no one leaked news about their whereabouts was critical.
Especially for the more dangerous animals: 14 dragons, 9 chimeras, 6 Nundus, 4 manticores, and other high-risk creatures. Housing these beasts was a huge challenge, because if even one escaped, it could cause disastrous harm.
For now, all the dangerous animals are kept in Newt's private place, but even with that, there's barely enough room for half of the total creatures, including those in Alex's suitcase. To solve this, Professor Kettleburn reached out to Dumbledore and arranged to place the remaining animals at the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
As a result, Dumbledore tightened security at Hogwarts, strictly forbidding young wizards from going near the forest, and they even nearly canceled the Quidditch season that year. Luckily, the headmaster wasn't that extreme, but the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest quickly became crowded with magical creatures, which put extra pressure on Professor Kettleburn's place.
Still, there was a silver lining: housing animals like thestrals, hippogriffs, and unicorns around Hogwarts allowed them to be released into the local ecosystem of the Forbidden Forest, giving these creatures a natural home.
Having magical creatures that could be raised and cared for more easily really took a load off Hagrid and Professor Kettleburn's shoulders. However, many other magical animals still needed to be housed in sheds, wrapped in weather blankets, and looked after on their own.
Despite the extra work, both Hagrid and Kettleburn seemed quite happy with the arrangement. Once they finished transferring the magical animals, the two headed straight back to Hogwarts, eager to take good care of the "cute" creatures they so loved.
After settling the animals, Alex asked everyone else to withdraw from the three places. The German Aurors followed Andre back to the Ministry of Magic, while the British Aurors returned with Amelia to regroup.
The UK staff gathered to prepare for the next phase of their operation. With the places cleared, Alex was finally free to focus on dismantling the three magic spires. It took him almost an entire day, but he managed to take apart the spires completely and collect all the alchemy tools, equipment, runes, and even the magical metal buried underground that served as conduits.
After a thorough search, Alex had extracted everything valuable from the places. His haul was impressive: many items from Wilson's Arcane Alchemica had been recovered, including 50 anti-theft monitors, 18 sets of tactical vests, and 240 magic lanterns. Though some loss was inevitable, the recovered gear could be refurbished and resold, making Alex feel a bit like a clever scavenger.
He also gathered a huge amount of magical animal by-products from the places, dozens of tails, feathers, horns, and scales from creatures like phoenixes, unicorns, and dragons. There were tons of furs, bones, and other materials as well.
He even found a large box of invisible animal skins perfect for making invisibility cloaks. And of course, there was the delicious "sizzling honey" secreted by Billywig worms.
At that moment, the two greedy ghosts, Shalltear and Fang, were holding a big jar, happily sucking away. Shalltear had even turned into a bat to crawl inside a honey pot.
Alex didn't mind at all, after all, they had contributed a lot to the operation and deserved the treat. There were about ten jars of this honey in total.
