Chapter 491 - The Memories

"Want to keep it as a souvenir?" Alex's cold expression slowly turned fierce. "Are you trying to comfort yourself with that?

Or do you think I'm a fool? It's clear now, you really are a traitor, trading memories with the Ministry of Magic."

"No, Master, I know I was wrong. I'm willing to hand over all those memories to you, just please let me live. Even if you want to sign a harsher contract, I'm okay with that!" Claremont gave up all tricks. He had lost his mind and only wanted to survive.

"Of course I'll take the memories. As for you? I'll decide your fate once I've gone through them."

Alex said this as he leaned over, grabbed Claremont by the collar, and dragged him to the nearby window. "Look at the mess you've caused the club. Because of your stupidity, three breeding bases have been abandoned!"

Claremont's eyes widened in shock as he stared blankly at the large pile of what looked like 'bodies' outside the window. His face drained of color. "My... Master, are those people? Did you kill them all to keep them quiet?"

"Do you think I'm as dumb as you?" Golden Snidget sneered. "Since this matter is out in the open, from today on, you all won't be collaborators anymore.

You'll work for the club in a different role. The losses this time will come out of your future pay!"

"What?" Claremont trembled at the words.

If he understood Golden Snidget correctly, he planned to turn everyone from employees into slaves. This decision shocked Claremont, who had been cooperating with the club for many years.

You should know that the club used to operate quite smoothly in Germany, they made few enemies and even had many supporters openly backing them.

So, is it really necessary to go to such extremes now? Could something be happening in the outside world that he unaware of?

Has the situation gotten that bad? Was Eisenberg's identity exposed? What went wrong with the club's plan to split? Is this why the Silver Wand has become so desperate, resorting to such harsh measures?

At that moment, Claremont's mind was a complete jumble, overwhelmed by all the information flooding in. Seeing the large group of captured wizards and Muggles right before him was shocking. But maybe, because of this chaos, his own life might be spared, which brought a small sense of relief to Claremont.

Meanwhile, Alex noticed Claremont's reaction and nodded quietly, seeming confident that everything unfolding was orchestrated by the Silver Wand. With that thought, Alex decided to become the spear that would cut through the club's plans. Smiling coldly, he didn't hesitate to cast a stunning spell on Claremont, sending him into a deep sleep.

"That bastard, you really took advantage of him," Andre burst out, releasing all the anger he had been holding back after seeing Alex knock Claremont out so easily.

"This Silver Wand has gone too far, using such sneaky tactics to control the situation." Amelia, standing nearby, was also shaken by the news. "But thanks to you, Alex, for being thorough and uncovering the club's conspiracy."

Alex's face twisted slightly as he shifted from the guise of Eisenberg back to his own. "I didn't expect to get so much valuable info from Claremont.

Luckily, our acting was convincing enough at the start, so he didn't suspect a thing. If he had realized we weren't the real Silver Wand, his mental protections would have kicked in, making it impossible for him to reveal anything useful, even if he wanted to confess."

Alex had done extensive research on the Silver Wand's mental defenses. He knew that when dealing with these operatives, pretending to deceive them was far more effective than trying to force confessions through direct interrogation.

Except for a few high-ranking members, most ordinary people wouldn't have any idea about the Silver Wand's plans. If they saw you as an enemy, they wouldn't admit to having any information about the group.

The moment when Alex allowed Claremont to show the evidence in the square was a calculated move to keep things moving forward, otherwise, it might have been too late for Claremont to explain after seeing so many people arrested.

"Director Andre," Alex said, turning to the sturdy figure beside him, "you heard what Claremont just explained.

Over the years, the Silver Wand has used all kinds of sneaky tactics in Germany to manipulate and divide the Ministry of Magic. Their top officials have stirred up conflicts among the regular witches and wizards, and they've even planted people close to you."

Andre sighed, still skeptical. After all, it sounded like a wild accusation, a criminal group trying to control the whole country.

But hearing how Claremont described the Silver Wand's slow infiltration of the German wizarding community and the Ministry, his doubts began to fade. "I understand. I won't take any chances with the Silver Wand or Eisenberg," he said firmly.

Then Amelia spoke up, recalling the insider Claremont had mentioned. "Andre, who is this Virgil, and what's his role in the Law Enforcement Department?" She looked worried. If Andre had already shared information with Virgil, things could get messy.

Andre sighed deeply. "Virgil is the deputy commander of the Auror Command in the Law Enforcement Department. He's always performed well and used to be someone I trusted."

Moody's expression grew serious. "So, did you tell him about this operation?"

"No," Alex shook his head, a hint of fear in his voice. "Thankfully, Alex made sure I understood the importance of keeping this confidential.

I didn't share any details with Virgil or anyone else in the department before joining you. I just transferred this group of Aurors as usual."

"But I was planning to recruit some people from the Ministry to help with this operation," he continued. "Virgil was one of the candidates. It's a relief I caught this early, otherwise, who knows what could've happened."

Andre looked firmly at the three people beside him and said, "Since the club has planted someone within the Legal Enforcement Department, we can't involve anyone who hasn't signed a confidentiality agreement in the follow-up actions.

Also, the sixteen people under my command can't stay out of the Ministry of Magic's sight for too long, so we'll still have to rely on you moving forward."

"That makes sense," Amelia nodded. "After tonight, I'll arrange to bring in more people from the UK. Just guarding so many wizards won't be enough."

"Thank you, Amelia. The German Ministry of Magic won't forget your help," Andre said gratefully. Then he turned to Alex. "So, what's our next move? I'm counting on you for the follow-up plan."

By now, Andre trusted Alex completely. Without him, Andre didn't know how long he would have been kept in the dark.

Alex paused to think before answering, "Next, I'm heading to Claremont's residence.

The memories there might be even more valuable for taking down the club than those in the places. I'll do my best to get there quickly, but if there are delays, the next step will be to raid the other two places."
