With the Weather Forecast Stand at his disposal, plus his command of Anemo Elemental Power and Cryo Elemental Power, conjuring a freak blizzard was child's play for Ye Xi.
Shattering Beisht's scheme had taken almost no effort, yet a cold sweat still crept down his back.
If he had failed to notice it just now, everyone aboard the ship would have been finished.
He would have to be more careful.
Seeing that the others were still caught up in their astonishment, he said, "Stay on the ship. I'm going up to scout the way ahead."
With that he stepped out the door and used Tread the Wind, soaring straight up into the high heavens.
Up in the sky, he was clear of the sea mist.
Below him, Beisht was thrashing and shrieking in fury.
The last time, when it had gone to Liyue Harbor, a single move from Shenhe had frozen its tsunami into stillness.
Who could have imagined that this time the script would play out exactly the same way?
Rage boiled through the beast.
Ye Xi paid it no mind. He simply waved a hand, and the bitter ice and snow came down once more.
In an instant Beisht was sealed solid, turned into an ice sculpture standing upon the surface of the sea.
The sight left everyone on the ship dumbstruck.
Yae Miko had heard so much about Ye Xi, but this was the first time she had ever watched him fight.
She had not expected it to be so clean, so effortless.
Had she been the one facing Beisht, it would have cost her no end of tricks.
Beisht was not a sea-beast of Demon God tier, and she, as kin of a Demon God, naturally stood on the same rung as it.
A drawn-out struggle, perhaps. But to defeat the thing outright, in a single instant, was no simple matter at all.
And Ye Xi had needed only a wave of his hand to strip Beisht of every shred of fighting strength.
Which meant Ye Xi's power had long since climbed past the rank of a Demon God's kin.
Even if he was not a God, the gap between him and one could hardly be called wide!
"Incredible!"
Kokomi stared, half in a daze.
Watatsumi Island's fighting strength was genuinely poor, so before the Shogunate they had no choice but to bow their heads.
Whatever the matter, they could only follow whatever arrangements the Shogunate handed down.
But if Watatsumi Island could befriend someone like Ye Xi, wouldn't that give them a rock-solid backing at last?
By then Ye Xi had already reached the heights of the sky.
Not far ahead of him, lightning cracked and thunder rolled through the air.
Raiden Ei was weaving through it alone at blinding speed, while several colossal shapes gave chase behind her, refusing to fall away.
They were none other than the Demon Gods who had fled into the Dark Sea in ages past.
Raiden Ei showed them no fear. She circled through the air, striking back now and then.
Every one of those evil gods was covered in wounds, while Ei herself had not taken so much as a scratch.
A domain of Electro had formed in the sky, and within that dense net of lightning, woven fine as spider silk, nothing but a Demon God could hope to draw near.
Anything struck by that web would be reduced to ash and smoke on the spot.
To Ye Xi, however, that violent Electro Elemental Power posed no threat whatsoever.
He walked into the domain without the slightest trouble.
Before the Demon Gods chasing Raiden Ei even noticed him, Ye Xi summoned a Nail of the Abyss.
The enormous spike pushed its head out from the clouds and plunged down with terrible force.
Sensing that dreadful energy, the Demon Gods jerked their heads up one after another, and the sight of that pitch-black spike sent a shock through every one of them.
One Demon God shaped like an octopus was hammered straight down where it stood, driven under like a cannonball slamming into the earth, plunging deep beneath the water and vanishing without a sound.
The gods were all struck dumb.
"That, that's a Nail of Judgment!?"
"Impossible. Could the Throne above have learned of our intentions!?"
"Look at that one! He walked right through the Electro domain without a scratch!"
"You must be joking. That is absolutely no human!"
"This guy froze Beisht solid with wind and snow?! Is he a Cryo God!?"
"Even the Tsaritsa would be stunned speechless!"
They had already noticed the frozen Beisht far below.
After all, when Shenhe had frozen the tsunami before, she had not managed to seal Beisht itself.
A sea-beast just beneath the rank of a Demon God was hardly something an ordinary person could lock in ice.
And Ye Xi had done it.
Every gaze converged on that small, insignificant figure.
Raiden Ei's human form was just as small as his, but the divine power that rose behind her, the Hands and Eyes of the Fierce General, cast an immense phantom shadow. When she swung an arm to attack, those giant arms behind her came cleaving down through empty air.
So no one ever underestimated Raiden Ei.
Ye Xi, by contrast, carried not a trace of pressure about him. Nothing could be read off him at all, as harmless as a man could look.
Raiden Ei released several clones, and in a blink she was at Ye Xi's side.
"Why have you come?"
"I couldn't stop worrying about you," Ye Xi said plainly. "Inazuma's situation is stable now. Dehya and the others have all gone to Narukami Island to help catch sea-beasts."
Raiden Ei lowered her head. "Thank you," she said softly.
As the God of Inazuma, being unable to protect her own people was something she could not justify.
"Save the thanks for when we get home. First, let's send these Demon Gods back where they belong."
Raiden Ei nodded. "They're not enough to do anything to me."
