The last customer had just left, and Lux was about to lock the door when a blinding flash of light filled the bookstore. The sudden intensity of the light forced him to close his eyes, and when he opened them again, the bookstore was gone. He was standing in a place that was utterly unfamiliar.
"What the...?" Lux muttered, his voice echoing in the strange new environment.
The air was thick with the scent of exotic flowers, and strange, exotic birdsong filled the air. Towering trees, their trunks wrapped in thick, gnarled vines, cast long, dancing shadows on the forest floor. Lux felt a surge of panic as he realized he was no longer in Makati.
He looked around, his eyes wide with fear and confusion. The trees were towering giants, their leaves shimmering in the sunlight. Strange, colorful creatures flitted through the branches, their calls echoing through the forest. Lux had never seen anything like it.
"Help!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the trees. There was no response.
A sense of awe and wonder mixed with terror. He was alone, in a strange land, with no idea how he had gotten there or how he would get back. The realization that he was trapped in this strange new world sent a wave of dread through him.
"What's going on?" he asked himself aloud, his voice trembling. "How did I get here?"
As he wandered through the forest, he tried to calm his nerves. He reminded himself that he had to stay calm and focused. He needed to find a way to get back home.
But as he explored the forest, he couldn't help but be fascinated by the strange new world around him. The creatures were so beautiful and exotic, and the plants were unlike anything he had ever seen.
He wondered if he was dreaming, or if this was all real. He pinched himself, hoping it would wake him up. But the pain was real, which meant that this was no dream.
Lux was truly lost in a strange new world.
