Scene 1: Arrival at Richmond International Airport


After a long journey spanning approximately 27 hours, including a layover at Hamad International Airport in Doha, the family's flight touched down at Richmond International Airport (RIC) at 6:00 PM local time on May 10, 2025.   The time difference meant it was 3:00 AM on May 11 in Karachi. 


As they disembarked, the familiar face of Basit, Imran's close friend, greeted them at the arrivals area. 


Basit (smiling): "Welcome back! How was the journey?" 


Imran (relieved): "Exhausting, but it's good to be home." 


Basit efficiently gathered their luggage, loading it into his SUV.  The children, though weary, perked up at the sight of familiar surroundings. 


Upon reaching their residence, the comforting aroma of home-cooked food filled the air. 


Ayesha (surprised): "Basit, did you prepare dinner for us?" 


Basit (modestly): "Just wanted to ensure you had a warm meal waiting." 


He had arranged a simple yet hearty meal: chicken curry, rice, and freshly made roti.  After setting the table, Basit excused himself to allow the family some privacy. 


The family gathered around the dining table, sharing the meal and recounting moments from their trip.  The children spoke animatedly about their adventures, while the adults listened, occasionally chiming in with their own anecdotes. 


Maryam (smiling): "It's amazing how much we've experienced in such a short time." 


Irfan: "Indeed. These memories will last a lifetime." 


After dinner, fatigue from the journey took its toll.  One by one, they retired to their bedrooms, eager for a restful night's sleep.
