The announcer's excited voice echoed through the packed stadium. "And how the tables have turned. In my long career of watching Pokemon battles, I have never seen someone dominate the battling stage this much as Gym Leader Gladion."
He paused for effect as the crowd cheered loudly. "And I am speaking from experience. No matter how bad the match is looking for him, like how he was down zero to two in this match, he has turned it around to five to four. He has defeated five of Sabrina's Pokemon while only losing four. So my experience tells me never to bet against Gym Leader Gladion because you might just lose your money." The announcer laughed at himself.
"Did I just say might? I should have said definitely. Folks, if you bet against this man, you deserve to lose your lunch money, your dinner money, and probably your house too. I once bet against him and had to sell my favorite hat to pay for it. Do not be like me. Learn from my mistakes and cheer for the uncrowned champion who keeps rising back up no matter what."
The entire audience burst into laughter at the announcer's funny stories.
Sabrina stood on her side of the field and looked at Gladion and his powerful Rhyperior. 'He has gotten more stronger than before. The gap between us had just widened instead of shortening. Am I even worthy of becoming his better half.' Doubts clouded her mind as she watched the giant rock type Pokemon stand tall after its latest victory.
She felt a mix of admiration and worry. Gladion had grown so much as a trainer.
She shook her head slightly and tried to push the negative thoughts away. Yet they kept coming back.
At that moment, her Alakazam burst out of its pokeball on its own and appeared on the stage. The powerful psychic type floated gracefully with its long mustache and spoons in hand.
Its voice sounded clearly in Sabrina's mind. 'Mistress, do not falter. You still have me, and the question should be, is he good enough for you? Because as per my research, women accept only those people who can dominate them.'
Sabrina's face gained some color as she blushed slightly at Alakazam's bold words. She replied, 'You are right. It is not I who needs to prove myself, but Gladion who has already managed to conquer me before. He has to show that he still has it in him to make me his.'
The idea made her feel excited about the battle again. She decided she would push Gladion to his limits. Only then would she feel truly satisfied with the outcome, whether she won or lost.
Sabrina focused her psychic powers and spoke directly into Gladion's mind. 'Gladion, come show me what you got. Make me submit. Dominate me.'
'What the hell!' Gladion thought, totally freaked out. His eyes widened for a second and he shook his head quickly to clear the surprising message.
The sudden message from Sabrina caught him completely off guard during such an important match. He felt his face heat up slightly but forced himself to stay focused.
Gladion took a deep breath and pushed the distraction aside. He looked at Rhyperior and gave a clear command. "Use Earthquake."
Rocky stomped his heavy feet hard on the ground. The arena cracked once again as powerful shockwaves spread outward. Large cracks formed across the rocky field and the ground rumbled violently.
However, Alakazam started floating in the air right away. It used its Psychic powers to lift itself high above the shaking ground and flew into the sky. The move allowed it to dodge the effects of the Earthquake completely. The psychic type hovered calmly as if the chaos below did not affect it at all.
"Rock Blast," Gladion ordered next.
Rhyperior opened its mouth and fired multiple fast rock blasts toward the floating Alakazam. The stones shot through the air like cannonballs.
Alakazam responded quickly. "Psycho Cut," Sabrina commanded.
The psychic Pokemon fired sharp slashes of psychic energy that cut the incoming rocks apart in mid-air. One of the Psycho Cut beams continued forward and struck Rhyperior right in the center of its chest.
The impact was strong enough to make the big Pokemon rock backward. It gave a deep groan of pain but stayed on its feet.
Alakazam then showed its overwhelming psychic strength. It used Psychic to pull out all the scattered rocks from across the entire battlefield
. Hundreds of stones of different sizes rose into the air and floated around it. The display looked magnificent as the rocks spun slowly under perfect control.
With a single gesture from its spoon, Alakazam sent all those rocks flying toward Rhyperior from every direction at once. The stones crashed into the giant Pokemon and piled up heavily. They enveloped him entirely, crushing him underneath and from all sides. A massive pile of rocks buried Rhyperior completely.
Dust rose into the air and the crowd gasped at the powerful move.
"Woah folks, the massive and dominating Pokemon that Gladion had shown us is down for the count..." the announcer started saying. Before he could finish, Gladion gave his command with confidence. "Bulldoze."
A loud roar came from deep within the pile of rocks. Rhyperior burst through them with incredible force. Broken stones flew everywhere as the big Pokemon broke free. Its body was now covered with many wounds and scratches, but its eyes still burned with fighting spirit. It shook off the remaining dust and stood tall once more.
"Mega Horn," Gladion said.
Rhyperior lowered its head and charged forward with its drill-like horn glowing with energy. It rushed across the broken battlefield, crushing every piece of rock in its path. The ground shook with each heavy step as it moved toward Alakazam at high speed.
"Alakazam, Future Sight," Sabrina commanded.
Alakazam's eyes glowed brightly as it looked into the future to predict the attack. It stepped calmly to the right at the perfect moment and dodged the Mega Horn charge by just a small distance.
Rhyperior's horn missed its target and struck empty air. But Gladion smirked confidently. He had already given the next command telepathically along with the first one.
At that exact moment, Rhyperior glowed yellow and released Thunderbolt in all directions. Electricity spread outward like a powerful storm.
Alakazam could not dodge the wide-ranging attack. Sparks covered its body and left it with several burns. The damage was not very heavy because it was a technical machine move and not a naturally learned one, but it still hurt. Alakazam winced from the electric shock.
Then the Future Sight attack that Alakazam had prepared earlier finally hit Rhyperior. The delayed psychic power struck the big Pokemon hard and knocked it down. Rhyperior struggled for a moment before falling unconscious on the rocky ground. It had given everything in this tough battle.
Gladion recalled his Pokemon with respect. "You did well, Rocky. Rest now." He picked up his final pokeball from his necklace and threw it forward with determination. "Colossus, time for battle."
