Chapter 268 - Chapter 267: Gladion's Victory Speech

The announcer's voice filled the entire arena with energy. "We have reached the conclusion of an epic battle! Gym Leader Gladion once again emerges victorious with a score of 6-4!"

The announcer continued with a big smile in his voice. "Can we give the two trainers a round of applause for such a fabulous battle?"

The crowd responded immediately. The applause grew even louder. Trainers, fans, and families all clapped together.

"Now we would have the winner, Gladion Vortex, speak a few words before we get straight into the tournament," the announcer said.

Gladion walked calmly onto the raised stage in the center. A microphone stand waited for him. He stepped up and took the mic in his hand. The crowd quieted down quickly. They wanted to hear every word from the undefeated Gym Leader.

Gladion looked out at the sea of faces. "It has been interesting times in Indigo in the past few weeks."

He paused for a moment to let that sink in. Then he continued. "Kanto faced Pokemon tides from all sides. Every city had to defend itself. All trainers were called to arms. And some of these trainers would be participating in the league competition right now."

The audience listened carefully. Many of them remembered it. Wild Pokemon had surged in huge numbers. Waves of them attacked towns and routes. It had taken everyone working together to push them back.

"They did not have much experience. They had only just started their journeys. But they stood with the military personnel, rangers, and ace trainers to face the Pokemon tide so that the cities and their people would be safe. They might have held off low-level threats while the others dealt with the bigger threats. But they showed courage in front of true danger."

A soft murmur of agreement spread through the crowd. People nodded. Some wiped their eyes. Those young trainers had risked everything to protect others.

Gladion smiled a little as he spoke again. "I am glad to know that the future of Indigo is in good hands. I am glad Indigo would have people like them to protect it in the future. I have personally met some of them when they challenged me and my gym."

He looked around the stadium as if searching for those faces in the crowd. "They were good. Very good. They were ambitious, skilled, and liked battling. I mean, is that not the excitement and thrill of battling and watching for why we do Pokemon battles?"

The crowd cheered again. Many trainers raised their fists. Gladion had put words to what they all felt deep inside. Battling was not just about winning. It was about the rush, the bond with Pokemon, and the joy of pushing limits.

Gladion's voice grew stronger for the next part. "And since this is just a momentous occasion, I declare that the winner of this entire league would be given the first ever revived fossil Pokemon by Vortex Industries and myself."

The stadium went silent for one heartbeat. Then it erupted into pure chaos.

Someone in the front rows yelled, "Did I hear him correctly?"

Another voice called out, "Fossil Pokemon?"

More questions flew from every direction. "What are fossil Pokemon?"

"Did they finally develop the machinery and technology to do such a task? Reviving dead Pokemon?"

"Did the Vortex Industries manage to revive a fossil Pokemon?"

The questions kept coming. People turned to each other with wide eyes. For years, scientists had dreamed of bringing back ancient Pokemon from fossils.

The technology had always seemed impossible. Many experts said it would take decades more. Now Gladion had just announced that Vortex Industries had done it. The crowd could hardly believe the news.

In the special viewing area, Professor Samuel Oak sat forward in his seat. His eyes sparkled like stars. "Did I hear him say fossil Pokemon? He managed to revive them. The research value would be immense. And how many species has he managed to revive?"

Professor Oak's mind raced with possibilities. Fossil Pokemon carried secrets from millions of years ago.

Their biology, their moves, their DNA could change everything trainers and researchers knew about Pokemon. He felt like a child on Christmas morning. This announcement meant a whole new chapter in Pokemon science.

Nearby, Ben Vortex leaned back with a satisfied grin. He crossed his arms and thought to himself, 'So it's finally time to reveal this, huh. I can't wait to post my research. I will have to prepare for this.'

.

Gladion raised his hand to quiet the crowd again. His voice cut through the noise one last time. "Now then, let the league stage begin and may the best trainer win."

With those words, he gave a small nod. A flash of light surrounded him. In an instant, he disappeared from the stage in a clean teleport.

Gladion reappeared in the VIP section of the stadium. Sabrina waited there for him. She sat in a comfortable chair with a perfect view of the battlefield. Her eyes lit up when she saw him arrive.

"That was a good match," Sabrina said warmly. "Your Pokemon continue to grow stronger. It makes me excited for our match."

Gladion walked over and took the seat next to her. He leaned back and gave her a cheeky smile. "Oh, are you not scared of our upcoming match after the next league season starts? By that I mean me defeating you."

Sabrina laughed softly. She turned to face him fully. "I would not be so sure of that. I now have a few of my own surprises."

Gladion chuckled. "Oh, I guess you are learning from the best."

The thought of their future battle already sent a spark of excitement through them.

Sabrina leaned closer, her curiosity taking over. "Well, it's nothing as big as your reveal of revived fossil Pokemon. So what are these revived Pokemon? What types are they? Is there a psychic fossil Pokemon?"

She fired question after question. Her eyes shone with interest. As a psychic specialist, she could not help but wonder if any of the revived Pokemon had powers like hers. The idea of ancient psychic types thrilled her.

Gladion held up a hand and shook his head with a grin. "It would remain a surprise for you too, Sabrina. You will find out about them as I reveal them to the world."

Sabrina crossed her arms and gave a small pout. Her lips pressed together in mock disappointment. "You are no fun sometimes."

Gladion laughed again. He enjoyed seeing her like this.

He glanced toward the big screen above the field. The next match was about to start. "Now then, let's watch my sponsored trainer's matches, shall we?"

The camera focused on the battlefield. A young trainer walked out confidently. It was Daisy Oak.

Sabrina noticed his expression and smiled. "She has come a long way."

Gladion nodded slowly. "She has. And this is only the beginning."
