Ma Shun whispered angrily, "Once we get enough, we leave before dawn. You said you know a route."
Bai Ruolan's voice became smaller. "I said maybe. I didn't promise you guys anything."
Liang Wei froze. "What?"
The lock finally clicked before the two even processed what Bai Roula said.
At the same time, floodlights snapped on and the rear yard lit up like a stage.
Liang Wei screamed while Ma Shun stumbled backward, knocking into a stack of empty crates.
Bai Ruolan covered her mouth and turned pale with astonishing speed.
Tang Li Yue stepped out from the rear door, clapping slowly.
"Wonderful."
The three froze.
Gao Jun emerged from the left side with a rifle in hand. Fang Yi appeared from behind the water tank. Zhou Han stood near the fence while Chen Qiao peeked out from the corner with an expression that suggested he had been waiting for this and was disappointed it looked so stupid.
Lu Chengran came last. His expression was calm, as always.
