After Claude stormed out of Etienne's room, he didn't waste time and searched for Jade. He knocked on the doors he passed by occupied by others, but no one seemed to have an answer.
"Are you looking for someone, sir?" The butler suddenly appeared, asking politely.
Claude came to a halt. "Yes."
"May I ask who?"
Claude was certain that the butler wouldn't know Jade, so he described him instead. After he finished, the butler pointed to a room Claude hadn't checked yet.
"He seemed lost when I bumped into him, so I took him to that room to rest," the butler explained. "It's already late, sir. You should retire for the day as well."
After the butler left, Claude strode to the said room. But the courage he had earlier suddenly vanished as he stood in front of the door. His determination wavered. Was Kenneth right? Should he really give Jade space for now?
