One of the assassins took a step backward.
"Wait. We can talk."
Michael didn't respond.
"We were hired! We don't have any personal grudge against you. This was business!"
The other assassin quickly added, "We can tell you who hired us."
Michael's gaze remained lowered.
"We'll tell you everything!"
The first assassin seemed to become increasingly desperate as the ghost's aura continued pressing down on him.
"We've worked for hundreds of years. We have information. Treasures. Connections. Hidden bases. Anything you want."
The ghost's head turned and looked toward Michael, apparently waiting for instructions.
Michael wasn't looking at either assassin. His eyes remained fixed upon the pile of belongings scattered across the floor.
The longer he stared, the colder his expression became.
