Early morning at the royal castle, Maid Marian's chambers…
It had been a few days since Prince John and his lackeys were thrown in the dungeons and the townsfolk were ecstatic, celebrating their liberation from the crushing tax reforms placed upon them. The local inn was filled with happy peasants deep in their food and drink, with the Merry Men providing the provisions and entertainment. Now that Robin and his followers didn't have to hide anymore, they returned to town and became upstanding citizens once more (not that the locals minded – they were only outlaws in the eyes of the Prince after all). Naruto also helped with the celebrations since his physical endowments meant that hunting boars everyday was as simple as breathing – while Robin and Little John were capable archers, that didn't mean they could lug around heavy carcasses every day.
Back in the castle however, Maid Marian had her hands full trying to run damage control on the state of the kingdom's affairs after Prince John had drained his subject's pockets to fill the royal coffers. Thankfully, Naruto did mention that all she had to do was keep things together until Richard came back so she wasn't exactly losing sleep over her new job. In fact, it was quite the opposite – while the exact details of how the gold the crown unlawfully took from the people of England would be redistributed were still iffy (when Naruto took her and Kluck to check on the treasury, it took a monumental effort not to scream to the heavens in exasperation – did John really have to pile up his wealth that much?!), she had the support of the peasantry. She was well loved by the people given her kind and generous nature and combined with the endorsement from Robin and Naruto, the town's heroes; she had an easy time with everyday business. Our story resumes in the chambers of Maid Marian, where the very same vixen was just getting out of bed.
*Yawn*"Another new day, another day as the regent…I really admire Uncle Richard for doing this for years. – who knew being a ruler was this tiring?" Marian said, rubbing her eyes before smiling at the sound of grumbling coming from her side.
"Ugh…Marian – it's too early to run around the castle. Come back to bed – I think Richard will arrive sometime this afternoon so you can take it easy today!" Naruto said, pulling the giggling vixen to his side before nuzzling his muzzle into the crook of her neck, her scent making him release a pleased growl that made his chest rumble something fierce. Marian for her part, only laughed quietly at her betrothed antics before patting his head and stroking his chest while looking out of the window, where the sights and sounds of revelry could still be heard.
Yeah – Marian had finally gotten her nerves together to the point that she was able to confess her feelings to Naruto. It took a bit of convincing (Naruto was under the impression that she loved Robin and as such, never entertained the possibility that she loved him instead) but after a few makeout sessions and an explanation of her emotions and how they changed over time, he quickly warmed up the idea of being her fiancé. Of course, being the traditional lady of her time, the two foxes hadn't actually consummated their relationship just yet, waiting for Richard to return and preside over their wedding first.
"Hmm…that may be true darling, but that doesn't mean we can just laze about in bed all morning. I mean, I think Klucky might even be down in town right now having an arm wrestling competition with Little John – she really did take a shine to that loveable oaf!" Marian said while Naruto sighed before sitting up in the bed with his right arm wrapped around Marian's waist.
"I guess that's fair – I just didn't want to lose your warmth. It's been a long time since I had any semblance of romance after all. Remember what I told you about my wives before I came here?" Naruto said, reminding Marian about when Naruto came clean about his origins after Marian bared her heart out to him (she had to know that he was a married man and that he was a polygamist to boot). She took the news quite well, even saying that given his extraordinary abilities, it only made sense that he was no normal existence. While Naruto wasn't sure how he should go about contacting Ella or Snow so the two could leave this world (Tiger was able to return because Ella knew which world she was in – Naruto was launched into this one quite unceremoniously by Maleficent's magic) but he was taking things in stride – after all, worrying about things he couldn't change was pointless.
"Yes, I do – it was an amazing tale indeed. To think that this world we live in is but a speck in a vast cosmos! I look forward to exploring it all with you love – you and my sister wives!" She said, humming in pleasure when Naruto began running his hands over her bodice, tracing the curves of her body as he did so.
"I am still surprised you took all the news so calmly but I am not complaining. I just wish Richard would return quicker – I can't wait to tie the knot with you." Naruto grumbled, secretly amused with how Marian began blushing at his insinuation (she was the innocent virgin in the face of an experienced man after all).
"Alright, alright – let's just get out bed. You look like you're liable to pounce on me if we stay in bed any longer!" Marian said, jumping out of bed and watching Naruto lazily extricate himself from the blankets before stretching his muscles out, groaning in relief when a particular kink in his muscles eased itself.
"Eh, you can't really blame me can you? I would need to be a saint to resist your charms – you can't be talking though. I can feel your eyes on my bum right now – checking out the goods are we~?" Naruto teased Marian, who had jumped in mortification at being discovered before she scurried off to change her clothes.
A few hours later – high noon, Nottingham town square…
"At long last, after ten long years carrying out the will of the Lord, I can finally rest my weary legs! It seems that Naruto must have known I was coming – the town looks radiant!" King Richard said, walking through Nottingham's streets and observing the festivities.
"It's the king!"
"He's returned! Praise be – call Robin!"
"Nay, inform Maid Marian!"
"Huzzah, huzzah!"
The king was then guided by the people to the castle, where he met Robin, Little John, Kluck , Marian and Naruto, who walked forward to clap the king's shoulders with a merry laugh.
"Wow – you certainly took your time getting back! You should have seen the state of the kingdom under your brother's reign! Things were really going to the dogs here- no offence Otto!" Naruto said, the old blacksmith waving him off (it was an figure of speech after all).
"What do you mean Naruto? What did my brother do? Where is he?" Richard said, rubbing his face in annoyance and looking around for his pathetic sibling.
"Yeah…you might want to sit down for this. It's a long story but don't worry – it does have a good ending!" Naruto said, taking the King into the castle to give him a rundown of the situation that he came upon about a week ago.
One information dump later…
To say that the King was disappointed was an understatement. After Naruto explained what John did (with additional input from Robin and Marian), Richard went down to the dungeon to talk to his brother. After enduring his sniveling and crying, Richard had had enough and sentenced him and his cronies to a life sentence in the quarries, citing that it was only due to the fact that he didn't want to make his late mother sad that he didn't have all of them executed.
On a side note, he was pleasantly surprised when Marian and Naruto asked him for his blessing to marry. More than happy to add Naruto , who was an indispensable help during his crusade, to his bloodline was too good an opportunity to pass up (even if he gave his blessing because he thought the two looked good together).As such, the two foxes were wed and sent on their honeymoon in but four hours, with the setting sun setting a romantic backdrop to their carriage as it disappeared over the horizon.
An unnamed inn, a few hours later…
"So, are you ready for this? I'll be gentle but tell me if I am going too fast for you okay?" Naruto said, pulling his clothes off while Marian lied in bed, also naked and raptly watching her husband reveal more and more of his body to her eyes.

However, given his recent actions, his new love for Marian served as a relay for Snow's senses and she in turn directed the most magical of his wives to find his consciousness across the multiverse.
