It was winter, so the Atlantic City Beach that was usually very crowded was much more mellow this time. Only a handful of people were around. Some walked their dogs while others just set up a small camp with family or friends to enjoy the scenic view.
Scott was busy tweaking his GT-R, tinkering with a few parts under the hood to ensure the high-performance winter tires and all-wheel-drive layout were perfectly tuned for the snowy roads ahead.
By the time he was finally done, he wiped his hands, looked out at the beautiful view of the snowy beach, and saw Maya standing near the shore.
He smiled softly and walked over to join her.
Both of them stood side by side, now enjoying the view of the sun glistening over the freezing Atlantic ocean, but no one had said anything yet.
Maya kept her eyes fixed on the horizon as her soft cheeks slightly flushed from the biting wind.
"When I was in supermax…"
She rubbed her arm shamefacedly.
