Chapter 316 - CHAPTER 313: Departure

After finding the fourth Road Poneglyph Historical Text in Elbaf, Luffy finally obtained all four complete coordinates.

At that moment, inside the Great Library of the Giants' Court—

Robin spread the four records across the table.

Nami picked up the map of the New World she had received from Kaido.

"So? So?" Uta asked impatiently. "The coordinates connect in pairs, and the intersection point is where the final island is located. Where is it?"

The four red Road Poneglyphs recorded the coordinates of four different islands.

The intersection point formed by connecting those coordinates diagonally was precisely where the great secret treasure, the One Piece, was hidden.

Up until now, throughout history, only Roger had managed to reach that place.

Now, the veil of mystery surrounding it was finally beginning to be unveiled before the Straw Hat Pirates.

Robin rested her chin on her hand and spoke softly:

"The previous three coordinates were already marked on the map. Now we finally have the name of the last island."

She then revealed the name of the corresponding island.

Nami quickly found the correct coordinates on the map.

Then, using a red pen, she connected the four points. Soon, a crossing point appeared in the center of the lines.

"Is it here?" Luffy asked while pointing at the map.

Everyone gathered around curiously.

Even the giants.

The Giant King crossed his arms and said suspiciously:

"There's nothing marked in this part of the sea... Isn't that strange?"

Saul nodded in agreement.

"Even knowing the coordinates, how exactly do you intend to find that place?"

After all, this was the New World, where the climate constantly changed.

Without a Log Pose pointing toward the correct direction, how could anyone know they had entered the sea region where Laugh Tale was located?

In the end, coordinates were still just coordinates. They did not function like a magnetic pointer.

So everyone looked toward Nami.

She immediately smiled proudly.

"You guys are seriously slow, huh? As long as we obtain the Eternal Poses of the four islands, we can determine our own position by following the magnetic directions."

After a brief pause, she confidently continued:

"Even if the intersection point is in the middle of the open sea, we'll still be able to identify the exact location!"

"What do you mean, Miss Nami?" Shirahoshi asked while tilting her head in confusion.

Luffy quickly imagined the process in his mind and immediately understood what Nami meant.

She pulled out two Eternal Poses from her pocket.

One pointed toward Hachinosu.

The other pointed toward Elbaf.

"It's simple. Let's assume..." Nami explained, "that these two Eternal Poses correspond to one of the coordinate pairs. In other words, upper left and lower right... or lower left and upper right."

"If we stand exactly at the intersection point, in the sea area where Laugh Tale is located... what will happen to the direction indicated by these two Eternal Poses?"

Everyone fell into thought.

Then Luffy laughed.

"They'll become parallel."

"Exactly!" Nami pointed at him excitedly. "As expected of Luffy!"

Vivi immediately understood as well.

"So we still need the Eternal Poses to actually find the place!"

Nami nodded.

"But two aren't enough. We need all four. In other words, two complete pairs. When both pairs of pointers become parallel at the same time... then we'll have found Laugh Tale!"

A single parallel pair would only allow someone to sail in a straight line between two islands.

However, when two different pairs simultaneously pointed toward the same point, that location could only be one thing:

The final island left behind by Roger.

Laugh Tale.

"But Rayleigh told me Laugh Tale is a Sky Island and that it moves," Luffy commented while lightly tapping his fingers against the table.

Even the giants' library table was far too enormous for ordinary humans.

Luffy and the others were sitting directly on top of the table itself.

Meanwhile, the giants sat around them in gigantic chairs.

Brogy burst into laughter.

"Gababababa! You'll only find out once you get there!"

"True enough."

Luffy nodded with a smile before turning toward the giants.

"Thanks for the help. Giant King, we'll be leaving now. We still need to gather the four Eternal Poses before heading to Laugh Tale."

"Monkey D. Luffy," the Giant King said solemnly, "I wish you a safe journey. I hope that the next time your name appears in the newspapers, it will be as the new Pirate King."

"You won't have to wait long."

Luffy jumped down from the table with a grin.

"Robin, let's go."

"Yes."

Robin carefully stored the four records away before turning toward Saul one last time.

With a gentle smile, she said:

"Goodbye, Saul... thank you. I'm truly happy that you're alive."

As she spoke, she pulled a carefully wrapped gift from her bag.

"Dereshishishi!"

Saul let out his characteristic laugh.

"Goodbye, Robin! From now on, you should smile more. Smiling will make you even happier!"

"Yes... I'll remember that."

Robin's eyes curved delicately into crescent moons.

After that, the Straw Hat Pirates returned to the coast where the Thousand Sunny was anchored.

As the giants bid them farewell, the ship raised its sails and slowly began sailing southward.

On the deck, Vivi smiled and commented:

"The giants are surprisingly kind. Everything ended up going very smoothly."

"That probably has something to do with the God of Elbaf..." Luffy replied while shaking his head. "Did you notice? The statue of Elbaf's God looks exactly like Nika."

"There's also that enormous straw hat hidden deep beneath Pangaea Castle."

"The size of that hat could only fit a giant."

The girls were shocked upon hearing that.

"Now that you mention it..." Nami murmured. "That actually makes sense."

"That's probably why they helped us so easily."

"Maybe the giants themselves no longer know the complete truth," Luffy said. "Their history was probably interrupted at some point."

"But that doesn't matter."

He then broke into a huge grin.

"Now everything is finally ready for the Straw Hat Pirates' final adventure."

"Let's head back and tell the rest of the crew everything!"

"Woohoo!!"

The girls immediately cheered.

The Thousand Sunny activated its automatic navigation system and quickly began returning toward Elegia.

Before setting sail for the final island, there were still a few preparations to make.

Most importantly, gathering the four Eternal Poses.

But for the current Luffy, that was no longer a major problem.

The next day, the Golden Emperor visited Elegia.

He handed Luffy the four Eternal Poses he had acquired and said:

"This is what you needed."

"Thanks a lot, Tesoro."

Luffy nodded with a smile before commenting:

"You really don't want to come with us? Thinking about it... now that Moria, captain of the Third Division of the Grand Fleet, died in battle, his position could go to you."

The Golden Emperor was the Neo Marines' greatest financial benefactor, so granting him captain status was only natural.

It made no sense to keep him merely as an external ally of the Straw Hat Pirates. The treatment and authority were completely different.

Tesoro shook his head.

"I have no interest in Roger's great secret treasure. However, I'll accept the position of captain of the Third Division. I wish you a safe journey."

"Understood."

Luffy stood up, patted Tesoro on the shoulder, and smiled.

"When I come back, everything will be settled."

Afterward, he left the room.

Outside the castle, Rayleigh and Zoro were silently waiting.

Rayleigh smiled faintly.

"So... you're really going?"

"What about you?" Luffy asked.

"I've already been there once," Rayleigh replied. "There's nothing left for me to discover in that place."

As he looked at Luffy, a small tear appeared at the corner of his eye.

Countless memories from the past flooded his mind.

[Hey, this ship is amazing! Did you steal it? Did your house burn down? Hahaha! So what's your name? I'm Roger! This is our destined encounter! Want to come with me and turn the world upside down, Rayleigh?!]

[Hey, Rayleigh... is this really the final island? The Log Pose is completely chaotic... the magnetism ahead feels strange. I have a feeling this still isn't the end!]

[This will be the Roger Pirates' final adventure! Let's go! Toward the final island!]

[This really is one gigantic joke... Hahahaha! I wish I had been born in the same era as you, Joy Boy!]

[The Roger Pirates are disbanding! Rayleigh, I'll be the first to leave the ship. Goodbye!]

[Hahahaha! You want my treasure? Then go find it! I left everything in that place!!]

Twenty-two years ago, the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, was publicly executed in Loguetown, his hometown. His final words officially ushered in the Great Age of Pirates.

Returning to the present, Rayleigh smiled.

"Luffy... go ahead. You inherited Roger's will. After discovering the entire truth, you'll definitely change the world."

Luffy placed the straw hat on his head and walked past Rayleigh.

"I don't care about Roger's will."

He smiled faintly.

"I just have my own reasons for moving forward."

Then he turned his head slightly.

"Let's go, Zoro."

"Understood, captain."

Zoro smiled toward Rayleigh.

"Our captain is that kind of person. He didn't inherit Roger's will, and he isn't Joy Boy either."

"He's simply Luffy."

After saying that, Zoro followed behind his captain.

Rayleigh stood there silently for a long time.

Then he raised his bottle of sake and burst into laughter.

"That's right... have a safe journey, Luffy!"

Luffy merely raised one hand without looking back.

When they arrived at the harbor, everyone was already prepared.

First Division:

Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, Franky, and Brook.

Second Division:

Bartolomeo, Foxy, and their subordinates.

Third Division:

Vacant.

Fourth Division:

Law and dozens of pirates under his command.

Fifth Division:

Jinbe and the Sun Pirates, excluding Aladine, who was already married.

Sixth Division:

Ace and the remaining commanders of the Whitebeard Pirates.

"Luffy!"

"Lord Luffy!"

"Straw Hat is here!"

Everyone greeted him one after another.

Not far away, Garp appeared alongside Aokiji and the others.

"Hahahaha! So you're finally heading to the final island?" Garp said while eating senbei.

Sengoku's expression was complicated.

"When the great secret treasure is discovered... the entire world will be dragged into a colossal war."

He let out a deep sigh.

"To be honest, I wanted to stop you right here."

But the very fact he said that already meant he no longer had the standing to stop anything.

Aokiji scratched his head.

"Even so, I'm still curious. What exactly is the great secret treasure? Mr. Sengoku, do you know?"

Sengoku shook his head.

Of course he didn't.

Aside from Roger and his crew, nobody truly knew the truth.

No...

Perhaps Imu knew.

Thinking of that, Sengoku solemnly said:

"I hope you return safely, Straw Hat."

Luffy laughed.

"Mr. Sengoku, how exactly did my grandpa manage to convince you?"

He was still curious about that.

Sengoku's face darkened instantly.

Garp burst into laughter.

"Hahaha! I'll tell you later, Luffy! Just come back alive. As for things here, leave everything to Grandpa!"

"I'm counting on you, Grandpa."

Luffy then turned around and walked toward the deck.

This time, however, he headed directly toward the Going Merry.

From the moment he obtained that ship, he had secretly promised himself that he would bring it to the final island.

Men keep their promises.

"SET SAIL!"

"Ooooooh!!"

The massive fleet slowly departed from the harbor of Elegia, advancing toward the deep sea beneath the gazes of countless people.

Even the newly recruited Neo Marines stationed on the outer islands stopped their work to watch the fleet's departure.

Tashigi watched from the shore and murmured:

"Will they succeed?"

Ain smiled softly.

"Everything will be fine."

On Amazon Lily, Hancock stood atop the massive wall, watching the fleet disappear beyond the horizon.

"Shakky... will Luffy discover the great secret?"

"If you're that worried, why not go with him?" Shakky replied while rolling her eyes.

Hancock's lips curved into a proud smile.

"I'll wait for him to return."

On Fish-Man Island, King Neptune also silently watched the Straw Hats depart.

Shirahoshi had left together with them.

The king could not hide his concern.

Prince Fukaboshi smiled.

"Don't worry, Father. Luffy is reliable."

"Reliable my ass!" Neptune immediately snapped. "That brat made Shirahoshi eat a Devil Fruit!"

"But what's the problem? Now she can assume a normal human size and even gained a special ability."

"That boy clearly has ulterior motives..."

Neptune replied gloomily.

Merfolk and humans had no reproductive barriers.

It wasn't that he disliked Luffy.

The problem was that Shirahoshi was still only fourteen years old!

On Onigashima, the Skull Castle was also being rebuilt.

The remaining members of the Heartless Legion watched the fleet depart.

Ulti sighed.

"If Master Kaido had chosen to surrender... maybe we'd be sailing with them right now."

"Don't say nonsense!"

King responded coldly.

"Master Kaido would never bow his head!"

After a brief pause, he continued:

"But Master Kaido's will shall be inherited by us!"

"We'll destroy the World Government!"

"We'll tear those nobles down from their pedestal!"

One week later—

A piece of news swept across the entire world like a hurricane.

"Let us celebrate the birth of a new Pirate King! Straw Hat Luffy has arrived at Laugh Tale!"

With the help of the World Economy News Paper's messenger birds, the news spread instantly across all four seas.

The entire world was shaken.
