Naruto: Training is My Ninja Way
Time flew, and the next day arrived.
Early that morning, everyone rose, though their constant yawning made it clear they hadn't slept much the second half of the night.
No surprise there—after that sudden attack, who could sleep?
Fortunately, they were all ninja, trained to handle pressure. A slight dip in condition wouldn't slow them down.
Under Nara Mitsuhiko's command, they quickly ate breakfast, packed up their supplies, and hit the road again.
Three days passed in a blur.
The first day or two, everyone was on edge, bracing for another ambush.
But after two uneventful days, they started to relax.
Another big reason for their ease was that they'd entered the heart of the Fire Country, where enemies would struggle to infiltrate.
Even if a small team slipped through, they'd pose no real threat.
Worst case, if a larger force showed up, they could hold out until reinforcements from the village arrived.
So, naturally, everyone loosened up.
Seimei was no exception.
After traveling with the team for a day and confirming that Uchiha Obito and Zetsu weren't circling back for another hit, he left a wood clone in his place and returned to Moon Island to resume his training.
What, take a break?
The journey back to the village was his break!
And it was a two-day break at that.
So, without wasting time, Seimei headed back to Moon Island.
Two more days passed.
With injured ninja, genin, and a load of supplies in tow, the team took six days total to near the village.
On the seventh day at noon, they finally returned to Konoha.
At that moment, Seimei, far off on Moon Island, paused his training. He used Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport to the village's outskirts, activated Heaven's Control to sneak inside, and swapped places with his wood clone.
Why come back in person?
Simple. He needed to report the details of the ambush on their return trip to Minato Namikaze. A wood clone wasn't reliable enough for that.
Sure, Minato might have some guesses about Seimei's true identity—especially after he'd used Wood Release to subdue the Nine-Tails—but neither had openly acknowledged it.
Better to avoid unnecessary complications.
Plus, as he'd noted before, to keep things under control, he needed to make a trip to the Hidden Mist Village to sync intel with the wood clone he'd left there.
So, coming back in person was necessary.
---
Konoha.
Outside the Hokage Building.
Seimei stepped out, pausing briefly to replay his conversation with Minato, ensuring he'd conveyed everything needed. Then he headed home.
After resting at home for half a day, as night fell, Seimei left a shadow clone to hold down the fort in the village, activated Heaven's Control, and slipped out unnoticed.
In the familiar small forest, he activated his Byakugan as usual, confirming no threats nearby. Then he cast Wind Release: Wings of Wind and donned his Chakra Cloak, taking to the sky.
Next, he used Earth Release: Ultra-Lightweight Rock Technique to reduce his weight and leveraged his Byakugan's gravity manipulation to propel himself.
With blazing speed, he shot toward the eastern Fire Country.
It didn't take long to reach the border.
Crossing it, he entered the open sea.
Sensing the Flying Thunder God marks scattered across the Water Country, he used them as guides and flew straight ahead.
This time, it took even less time to enter the Water Country's territorial waters.
Unlike before, he didn't take a detour to enter from the far side.
Instead, he climbed higher in the sky and flew directly in from the west, the side facing the Fire Country.
With the cover of night, the Mist Village ninja stationed at the Water Country's border couldn't detect him. Seimei slipped into their territory with ease.
High in the sky, he locked onto the Hidden Mist Village's location and flew straight for it.
Minutes later, he dispelled Wind Release: Wings of Wind and his other support jutsu, landing in the forest outside the village.
Perched on a tree branch, he gazed at the misty village nestled in the distant valley. With a thought, he activated the Byakugan at his forehead.
His vision shifted to black-and-white, and no obstacle could block his sight.
Soon, he had a clear view of everything ahead.
After confirming nothing was amiss, he memorized the patrol routes of the Mist Village's outer guards and deactivated his Byakugan.
Jumping down from the tree, he swiftly approached the village.
When he entered the range of the Mist Village's watchtowers, he activated Heaven's Control.
Silently, he scaled the village's walls, passed through their sensory barrier, and entered the Hidden Mist Village.
He moved forward, and after covering some distance, he locked onto the underground cavern where his wood clone was hiding and used Flying Thunder God Technique.
Unlike Konoha or the Hidden Rock Village, which had been harassed by Uchiha Obito and were loaded with sensory barriers, the Mist Village had fewer defenses.
So, without hesitation, Seimei used Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport to his destination.
His vision shifted abruptly.
In an instant, he went from the village's outskirts to a cavern beneath the central river of the Hidden Mist Village.
The next moment, a figure appeared behind him.
"It's me!" Seimei said quickly.
The figure lowered its raised hand.
If you looked closely, you could see traces of vines in its palm.
Clearly, it had been ready to strike.
And who was it? None other than Seimei's wood clone, left stationed here.
Turning to face it, Seimei said, "What's with you? That reaction was a bit much."
The wood clone shrugged. "Can't help it. You showed up out of nowhere. By the way, isn't it a bit early for our intel swap?"
"Yeah," Seimei nodded. "Something came up."
He then recounted how Uchiha Obito had appeared a few days ago, manipulating Mist Anbu to attack their team.
The wood clone immediately understood Seimei's concern.
After a moment's thought, it said, "Based on Genshi's memories and some others, I haven't seen any signs that Yagura Karatachi is being controlled. Your guess might be right—this could just be Obito testing the waters."
Seimei let out a relieved breath. "Good. If he hasn't taken control of Yagura yet, we've still got time."
"I'm just a clone. You're the one who makes the calls," the wood clone said nonchalantly.
Before Seimei could respond, it added, "But I've got some good news for you."
"What's that?" Seimei asked, curiosity piqued.
The wood clone shook its head. "See for yourself."
With that, it dispelled its Wood Clone Technique.
A flood of memories poured into Seimei's mind. He closed his eyes, carefully sifting through the information.
