In Western mythology, the Nyx are indeed known as the goddess of darkness, symbolizing death and destruction.
Jackson Chen was aware of this when naming his AI assistant. Who knows—maybe gods truly existed in this world, after all, Thor himself was already standing before him.
As Jackson surveyed the projections of virtual models on either side of him, he saw the mech he envisioned taking shape. All he needed to do now was begin processing the materials and assembling them.
It would have taken too much time for him to do it all alone, but with the help of Nyx, and the core console in his repository, the process became much easier.
Pieces of Adamantium alloy and Vibranium were immediately transferred to the cutting room, where, based on Jackson's ideas, cutting and polishing began.
Meanwhile, Jackson was hard at work, building the networked systems for his creation. Nyx' green mechanical projection appeared in the virtual space, assisting with a subset of the console's permissions.
Nyx began to control the warehouse's processing room, assembling circuits and energy systems equipped for the mech.
Before long, the mech Jackson was constructing rapidly took shape, far faster than he'd imagined.
The night deepened over New York.
In the outskirts of the city, an abandoned factory stood, casting a lonely shadow in the dim light.
Leaning patiently against an oil drum was Iron Man. Beside him, a man clad in Vibranium armor stood tall.
It was the King of Wakanda—Black Panther.
Suddenly, a string of spider silk dropped beside Iron Man, revealing a teenager in a bright red Spider-Man suit with a bored expression.
"Oh, Uncle Tony, it's so boring here. How long are we supposed to wait?" Spider-Man complained, hanging upside down from his web.
"You said there was danger, but I haven't felt a trace of it," the young hero muttered.
Black Panther nodded in agreement. "I must say, Tony, this place doesn't feel like where heroes gather."
Iron Man sighed, "Believe me, I don't like this either, but patience. They'll be here soon."
He paused, but before he could finish speaking, his expression shifted, and he immediately stepped forward, shouting, "Something's approaching, get ready!"
Black Panther and Spider-Man instantly tensed up, adopting battle stances.
A bright light sliced through the darkness, hurtling straight toward Iron Man!
Neither Black Panther nor Spider-Man had time to intercept it—it was moving too fast!
One second it was in the distance, and in the blink of an eye, it was upon them.
Even Iron Man's usually calm demeanor faltered, a hint of panic flashing in his eyes.
"Stop, Pietro!" came the voice of Black Widow from the shadows. Beside her stood a tall woman dressed in red.
With a gust of wind, Quicksilver stopped his fist inches from Iron Man's face, the force sending Iron Man's hair flying back.
Quicksilver grinned, withdrawing his fist as he clapped Iron Man on the shoulder. "Just kidding, Tony."
Iron Man shook his head, visibly annoyed. "No, Pietro, that wasn't funny at all."
He eyed Quicksilver carefully. "If I'm not mistaken, you must be Natasha's Quicksilver, right?"
Turning his gaze, he looked at the woman in red. "And she's your sister, the Scarlet Witch?"
Quicksilver grinned. "That's right." He scanned the area, frowning. "But seriously, Tony, you picked the worst spot. No internet, and just one light in this huge place."
Iron Man shrugged. "We had no choice. The enemy we're up against is too dangerous—anywhere with a network is a potential vulnerability. To avoid leaking our plans, we had to come here."
As they talked, a car pulled up in front of the factory.
Unlike Quicksilver's flashy entrance, Dr. Banner's arrival was more low-key.
Iron Man turned his attention to the car as two towering figures—each over six feet tall—emerged.
One wore a white tank top and had a unique hairstyle that resembled wolf ears.
The other figure was even larger, dark blue, with sharp fangs jutting from his mouth.
Quicksilver greeted them enthusiastically. "Logan, Beast! Took you long enough!"
It was clear that the two newcomers were familiar with Quicksilver.
Wolverine shot Quicksilver a glare. "Kid, you're only saying that because you run too fast."
Beast let out a deep chuckle as the group gathered. The Avengers were forming—ready for whatever awaited them.
"Next time, if you mess up again, I'll teach you a good lesson."
Quicksilver smiled and said, "Oh Logan, there's no need to do this to me, is there?"
He still had a lot of respect for Wolverine.
After all, Wolverine had saved his life a few years ago.
He was one of the first mutants, even older than Professor X.
Wolverine ignored him, stepped straight forward, held out a hand to Iron Man, and said, "Logan Howlett, or you can call me Wolverine."
Iron Man smiled slightly, "Tony Stark, welcome to the Avengers."
...
In less than half an hour, Thor and Hawkeye also arrived.
Thor was followed by Steel Lux and a man in a strange vertical collar cape, and Iron Man recognized him.
He seemed to be an apprentice next to the Ancient One's mage, and his face looked exceptionally long under such a dress.
The people from Hawkeye's side gave Iron Man a lot of surprises. Ant-Man and Wasp Woman—this is a couple.
The two have the ability to grow larger and shrink, which made Iron Man marvel.
At this point, everyone had arrived.
In the dim light, the new Avengers unleashed their first memories.
"Folks, you should all know the reason why I wanted to invite you here."
"The guy who made the explosion in New York will not only continue to commit crimes but will also hunt down super-powered people like us."
As Iron Man spoke, he pressed down on a flashlight-like projection device in his hand, and an image began to play.
"Maybe you don't know enough about the guy named Jackson Chen."
"Then look at this."
It showed the entire process of Jackson Chen bombing the Avengers base and his transformation into an Indian man under the ruins of the bank.
The whole process was smooth, and Jackson's strategy made their breathing become more and more tense.
They watched the video that day and thought it was shocking enough, and their understanding of Jackson had already reached a certain level.
But now it seemed that it wasn't enough!
This was an unscrupulous, even somewhat insane bandit!
Unlike previous criminals, he was extremely clever and cunning.
His layout and planning ability were simply chilling!
At the same time, they also saw the current state of Captain America!
Sluggish, wooden...
This was a genius who turned a powerful superhero into a wreck without using any superpowers!
This made the new members of the Avengers, who had been a little loose, suddenly tense up.
To face such a monster, no one dared to let down their guard.
They also understood why Iron Man chose such a secret location without any network coverage.
Because... they were scared!
