Her voice gained strength from the need burning in her chest, the fire that had kept her moving when everything else wanted her to stop. "Where is he? Is he—"
"He's at the hospital," Tang Yuze said quickly, pulling back just enough to meet her eyes, his own shining with relief and something that looked like the last remnants of terror. His hand found hers and squeezed. "He collapsed at the scene—shock, they said, and the blast threw him too. He hit his head, they think. But he's stable. He's alive, Yuxi. He's alive, and fighting every doctor who tries to keep him sedated because he won't accept... he won't accept that you're gone."
