Aside from the visible frown on his face, William didn't say much regarding her confession.
The tea he brewed wasn't as bitter as it smelled. Keira felt her body relax even further with every sip. William watched her silently, taking in the absent-minded stare as her thoughts wandered back to the events in her dream.
"Say…" Her moist lips parted in a whisper that William almost didn't notice at first. He hadn't seen his daughter wear such a cautious look in a while. "If I suddenly fell ill…would you abandon me?"
"…" It was his turn to look bewildered at the sudden question. He watched her expressions most carefully, wondering if she was truly serious or just jesting with him with insane questions. "Elaborate."
"I dreamt of something just now." Her gaze shifted between the teacup in her hand and William's face, unsure of how to go about this topic.
