'What do you want to do when you grow up?' is a common phrase everyone has heard at least once in their life. Selene, however, was never once asked.
What I wanted?
She remembered how her eyes always followed after Keira's gaze to whatever the girl was interested in. The way Keira's hopeful gaze gradually dimmed the more she took from her. And with how Keira looks toward Austin, filled with trust and comfort, made Selene's heart swell with the thrill of having something she wanted.
I want Austin.
She was never neglected, but was the most spoiled. Everything she wanted, she could have. And yet, here she was, being looked at with disgust by the person she now wanted most in life. The anger and frustration that had been building in her heart flowed down her cheeks.
If she believes she can play me a fool, I'll have to really teach her a lesson!
