"I am so sorry!" Garnet screamed as she hugged Vee. "I was trying to keep it together but everyone kept saying things and it got worse and I was so angry!!" So many mistakes. One moment she felt a swarm of overwhelming anger, and the next thing they knew, the context of all the damage they've done to Gravesfield hit them all at once.
"It wasn't your fault!" Vee cried, hugging the gem back. "Belos is out and he's causing trouble and things keep escalating!"
"But I should've known better! I'm supposed to be the leader that watches out for all of us, yet time and time again I keep failing! I'm supposed to be mature enough to handle my anger!" She was half Ruby for pete's sake!
"You failed, big deal, nothing that hasn't happened before." Amity said half heartedly. "You guys think Gus is doing alright? I know Boscha can handle a bit of a beating but … "
"Gus is tougher than you think." Hunter spoke up, staring into the sky. "He's been through greater mental pain before, both on the Boiling Isles, in hell, and that alternate timeline he was sent to. He can stand it as long as we hurry."
"Which means waiting on trusting Pearl …" Willow sighed. "Remind me why we didn't just desperately try to craft a ship from scratch?"
"Remember how long it took last time?" Connie asked. "And that was just a drill."
"And we have no idea how long we have before Hessonite begins razing the planet, so the sooner we get off, the better." Amity groaned. "I really wish the threat level stayed at incompetent coven scouts and smashable abomatrons."
"People just like raising the bar apparently." Hunter muttered. "So roll call. Lapis?"
"Hugging Amethyst as they apologize to each other."
"WHHHHHYYYY AM I SO HOPELESS! I'M NOTHING BUT TRASH!" The purple gem cried out.
"I'M THE HOPELESS ONE! I DROWNED SO MANY PEOPLE!" Aww, they were bonding.
"Jasper?"
"Declaring their love to humanity."
"Lufrednow tsuj efil t'nsi!?" Good for them.
"Semi sapient Centipeetles?"
"Krrrrrrrrrrr."
"...I think it's better they stay here." Willow muttered. "...Along with most of these guys. They're not exactly….emotionally stable at the moment."
"I think that's for the best." Garnet nodded. "I can't trust you around me Vee. I can feel anger kicking the back of my head." It was small, but it was building again.
"Tenalp ruoy ot nwod ev'I sgniht lufwa eht lla rof pu ekam tsum I ,og I taht tsisni I." Jasper looked regretful and pleading.
"Well, I can't exactly go either." Vee raised her hand. "I'm not a fighter like these guys. At most I'd just be another body you'd have to save. And I can help keep these guys calm for the most part."
"What exactly is the plan for them after this?" Amity asked. "Use up gallons of Lucci's blood to constantly fix these guys as we try to find Belos in the city, which could take days, weeks, even months?"
"I know Clawthorne is probably going to hate this when he hears it….in fact I do too." Hunter grumbled. "... But… it might be safer… to bring them to the Boiling Isles with us."
"… You know he's going to murder them before even considering that, right?" Willow asked.
"I know, but at this point, they're more of a danger to this planet than we are." Hunter countered. "I don't think we're going to be able to get rid of Belos anytime soon, but putting them in another dimension beyond his reach will limit his resources, and allow us to come up with a new plan later down the line."
"Look at it this way." Amity spoke up. "If Lucci argues, we can say we're sending in Collector fodder while we deal with Belos."
"That's a perfect way to atone for my crimes!" Lapis cried … before groaning. "Wait … I think I need another dose."
"You sure? Because now that I'm thinking about it, making you high on my emotions doesn't really seem like a very productive method." Vee winced as she prepared another glyph.
"It's either that or she goes back to her plan of you and Lucci on the moon." Connie pointed out. "Or we have one of the gems flirting with Amity … unless anyone else wants to try their positive emotions."
"If they chose mine, they'll probably go back to beating each other up." Willow admitted. "Exactly how big is this ship going to be anyway?"
"Well, if it's Rose's ship, and Rose being Pink Diamond…" Garnet started as the ground shook
Thud thud thud
"Check it out!" Luz shouted down from the top of the … diamond ship. "We found it in the desert!"
They stared up at the giant pink legs, before Hunter turned to Willow. "Is it in bad taste to make a 'pants in the relationship' joke?"
They all turned to the exiting Lucci, who was glaring at Hunter, and glowing pink. "...I think you better hide before Lucci punches you again."
"Wow, this thing rules!" Spinel laughed as she jumped round the ship. "Imagine the kick ball you can play with this! Entire meteors going bye-bye as you kick them across the galaxy!"
"… Gonna ignore that for my own sanity." Sasha muttered. "I gotta admit, never seen a ship like this."
"Are you mad Lucci?" Amity asked. It was a fair question, considering it's origin.
"Well … to hate this thing on the principal it was my womb donor's wouldn't work considering Spice and the sword and honestly I'm more confused… why legs?" He asked.
"That's easy." Pearl smiled. "The Diamond ships all combine together in order of their status in the matriarchy they have created."
"...So one could say that Clawthorne is the butt of that hierarchy?" Hunter asked with a glib smirk.
"..." Lucci took on a blank look, reeled his arm back, and punched Hunter into the cliffside.
"....Worth it." Hunter gasped.
"One has better punches, the other better barbs." Luz muttered as she made her way down. "So, we taking this thing to space?"
"Apparently that's the plan." Willow nodded. "..Also all the gems are too unstable emotionally to help us… Except Jasper somehow."
"We'll just shove them into space." Lucci shrugged. "Pearl seemed less crazy in the desert. Belos can infect the town all he wants, space is too far."
"You want to bring them on the mission?" Vee asked.
"Yeah, we could use them as cannon fodder for making today annoying."
"...Hold on to that thought, it's going be more useful than you think." Amity nodded, and Garnet really felt like she was unwanted in the group…. Not that she blamed them, she really messed everything up. "Okay, so we should make our way into space before…"
"Attention you overpopulated planet of meatbags! I shall begin phase one of my raze of earth in celebration of my prisms being back into my life. Emerald, began operation Sun Scorcher!"
"… Before that." Luz sighed. "Come on everyone, in the pants." What a life they lived where that was a sentence that gave no one pause.
"After today, I am officially DONE with earth outside of Luz and Dana." Lucci groaned. "Buckle up everyone, the way to pilot this ship is awkward, and I can't guarantee a safe lift off." They'd be fine, what could go wrong?
========================================================================
Emerald flew through the atmosphere with a grin on her face. "I always love the speed this puppy has." She spoke to herself. She could spend centuries just flying around in her sun chaser, roaming the endless sky in her most prized possession. If she didn't have her duties, she would take off into the vast unknown universe and never turn back. But alas, she supposed she would have to settle for her second favorite hobby for now…elimating wildlife from planets.
Let's see. She was supposed to start with the largest cluster of human life and work her way down from there. Quadrant F looked like a good start. A few perfect shots from the ship with perfect accuracy and gave the most satisfying sound when it fired, and presto. "Operation Sun Scorcher, it's been quite awhile since we've practiced this maneuver." Prisms were a rare trophy to own on homeworld, and use of them was always a special occasion. To get one back was a good mark for their crew.
Now to add another. Emerald aimed her cannons at a coastline, preparing to fire … until she saw something leave the ground, rising into the air. "Humans launching their own counter attack…expected but still baffling." There was no way these primates had developed a level of technology that could possibly match to homeworld's weapons. "I guess I have a much better target to focus on now."
They flew closer to the object, analyzing defenses and weaknesses … then got a strange response. "Ship found in database?" That baffled Emerald for a moment, before dots started to connect. "The Crystal Gems." They must still exist on earth, mounting a counter defense. Rumors of their survival were widespread but ignored for the most part. After all, who'd be asinine enough to want to directly combat the Diamonds, even if they managed to shatter one of them.
Emerald looked over the data she received, going over the specific model … and panicked. "Oh no …" She instantly called her superior. "Hessonite, we have a problem." Emerald spoke into the coms.
"It better be important, I'm bonding." Emerald did not need to know that.
"The organics and crystal gems are flying to meet us."
"Just shoot them down." Hessonite waved off.
"In Pink Diamond's ship." It was one thing to shoot down an enemy. To shoot down an enemy in an important relic? One that Blue Diamond was VERY particular about protecting and shattering anything that tried to destroy it? "I believe they're trying to leverage their way into boarding their vessel."
"Then fire at it." ….What?
"Mam, with all due respect, we're already bending the rules of that last order. If we destroy Pink's ship …" The punishment would be severe.
"Are you going to tell anyone about it? Because as far as I'm concerned, that is NOT Pink Diamond's ship. Pink Diamond and all her possessions were destroyed in the war, and the planet was disintegrated with the arrival of the Cluster."
"... Right." Please let the Cluster destroy the evidence. Pretty please, stars above. She began firing, watching the legs flail around. It's lucky that the pebbles were probably using some alternate form of access, otherwise they would have activated the shields.
She continued to fire off lasers as what was likely a small motley crew of morons flailing about without rhyme or reason. It was actually pretty laughable to watch.
Oh they were getting close. Likely trying a futile attempt at firing the laser. It was no match for the sun chaser of course. Emerald would just gently move out of the-when did that thing's leg move?
And before she knew it, the half damaged and probably exploding ship decimated the sun chaser in a move that would have broken the sound barrier if there was any air around. "No… no… my sun chaser!" Emerald cried out as she now found herself floating aimlessly in the blackness of space! "You will pay… you crystal gems will all pay!"
"Oh don't get so dramatic. You have an even bigger ship waiting in docking you can call out." Hessonite grumbled from her communicator. But could any of those chips reach nigh-lightspeed without a gravity engine?! "You did enough damage, the ship is unable to move anymore, destruction is imminent. I'll finish it with a light brigade." Several prisms flew out of the main ship and pointed right at the damaged vessel. "Show them no mercy, my glorious little sparkles!"
And in a dazzling display of bright rainbow colored lights, the once mighty vessel of one of their illustrious diamonds crumbled before her eyes, a crimson show of fire engulfing the ship, leaving practically no trace of anything. "At least my sun destroyer was avenged." It was a shame that she wasn't the one to take it down, but at least true justice had finally been enacted-
"Hey Hessonite!" They turned to see a pink … thing floating towards the main ship, carrying what looked like a large pink bubble carrying a sizable group of people inside it. "How about I show you what a REAL superior species can do!?"
The pink creature spun around rapidly, covering the ball in spikes as it spun around with it, until he launched it at the ship.
Kabooom
And breached a twenty foot hole into the hull! "... They're on board."
"I can see that. I'll deal with the intruders, then recover you." They sighed … wait, so Emerald was going to float until then!? "Light brigade, exterminate the intruders." The drones began aiming right at the pink ball…
BOOOM
…As the pink creatures glowed ever brighter….and flew threw it, and completely obliterated it into pieces. "... MY BABIES!"
"Lucci, you alright!?" One of the figures in the bubble called out as it popped. "I know you have a bubble around your head, but the rest of your body is still exposed!"
"Yeah, I'm fine! My body is made out of tougher stuff!" The pink creature yelled with a wide smile. "You guys go on ahead!" The pink creature shouted as the prisms were now targeting it, carrying what looked like a giant pink hammer on it. "I'm gonna have fun smashing these things into pieces! You guys focus on saving Gus and Boscha!"
"We're on it!" A large organic with optic enhancers moved onto the ship. "Just try not to die!"
"I won't!" The thing shouted. "Come on, show me what you got!" … Emerald feared for her safety.
========================================================================
"Stop it! Don't you dare!" Gus listened to the orange gem shout. "That little … that's it! All cannons aim at the most potent source of energy from a single direction, destroy it on an atomic level!" From what they could gather, his friends managed to make their way into space and someone on the outside, most likely Lucci, was fighting the fleet of prisms that Hessonite had sent out to obliterate earth. Which was lucky for earth, but that still left about a hundred other prisms left on the ship for everyone else to deal with.
"[*%{%]*]." And from what Gus could gather, a good number of them either really, really enjoyed the praise from Hessonite, or genuinely liked destroying other people and ruining their lives. So the good old Luz method of talking it out was well and void.
"Hey Boscha, you hanging in there?" Which meant the most he could do was wait for the others to rescue them, and in a rather vain effort to not be a damsel in distress, he had to at least attempt to try and escape.
"Bllllll." Her paralyzed mouth responded. He would take that as a 'screw you'.
"Right, didn't think so." Boscha was paralyzed and Gus was being restrained by the hands. Most he could do at the moment was do his illusion trauma thing and short out the rest of the Prisms like he did back in the temple… but that would render him completely immobile, and there was no guarantee if Hessonite would be affected as well.
"Keep at it! If that thing is bubbling its head it clearly needs oxygen!" Hessonite screamed. "Make sure it-"
The door burst open, as everyone rushed inside. "Gus!" Willow shouted, extending a vine that attempted to reach out and grab him….which was instantly incinerated by one of the lasers.
"!|£,>]!." A purple sphere grumbled, aiming itself at the girl.
"Great, as if we needed to deal with more of these things." Amity grumbled.
"I count ten, maybe more." Pearl said … wait, they brought the gems with them? Why would they do that? They're so emotionally unstable.
Hessonite sighed, closing up the screen. "Of course. Want something done right, you do it yourself." She muttered, sitting up. "Let's see … a Pearl, an overcooked Amethyst, a fusion … and one organic carrying Rose's sword." They listed off without a care.
"FOR EARTH AND FRIENDSHIP!"
"PIHSDNEIRF DNA HTHRAE ROF!" Jasper….still broken, attempted to roll out, only for them to run into a barrier.
"Oh, it seems they somehow malformed Yellow's Jasper." They spoke with surprise. "Hmm … oh well, can't make a gem without killing a few life forms." The gem shrugged, pulling out a blade.
"Alright." Hunter spoke up. "Garnet, Pearl, keep them distra-" Clang "cred." He finished as the blade was blocked by a gauntlet, inches from piercing the Grimwalker's throat. "Wha-"
"Nice reaction." The gem muttered, before delivering a flurry of jabs that Garnet blocked … before they moved faster … and faster … and suddenly their arms vanished, too fast for the eyes to keep up. "Either you have an Indigo or a Sapphire." Hessonite said offhandedly at the sheer speed and wind pressure generated, before letting off a surprise kick that sent Garnet through three walls. "And you're what passes for a Garnet on this miserable Planet? You bring shame to my entire cut."
"Sneak attack!" Luz's sword was blocked. "… Why do I shout these things!?" She screamed as Hessonite 'gently' pushed back, resulting in the human being sent flying into the wall next to them.
"I think I'll go back to eliminating the blonde." They muttered, seeing Hunter warp father away. "Teleporting … you know, that doesn't quite matter if the opponent moves faster than you can think." And then they blurred. Clanks and dents into the walls could be seen and heard all over, until Hunter was thrown into a control panel. "You're hardly the first organic to master short range teleportation combat…and you won't be the last I end."
Amethyst rolled into a ball, which was blocked with one hand, before being shoved through the ground. "So … how do we beat them?" Amity asked.
"Would you prefer the hopeful answer or the realistic one?" Pearl asked, charging up her spear. "Hessonites are one of the deadliest types on homeworld. We should count ourselves lucky that they come in very few numbers."
"See, the Pearl's defective and even they know their place." The orange gem rolled her eyes. "What exactly were you hoping to accomplish here again?"
"Take you out like every other gem!" Willow screamed, throwing out seeds that grew into a massive tree … which was both cut and diced by Hessonite and blasted into crisp by the prisms.
"Please … as if I'm like 'every other gem'." They spoke sarcastically, thrusting their sword with enough force to cause Willow to bleed from across the room. "Let me enlighten you meatbags on a little history. Thousands of years ago, long before any of you were even a concept, near the beginning of Homeworld's conception, it was said that an entire kindergarten of Hessonites were created. After all, our diamonds deserved the best and only the best serving them. However, that created a problem. The Hessonites wanted nothing more than to be above anyone that got in their way … including each other. A small civil division erupted, ending with only one Hessonite coming out on top unshattered."
"Let me guess … you?" Luz asked, getting back up as Garnet reentered the room.
"No … but it set a standard." She continued. "Whenever a group of Hessonite form, only one may come out unscathed. The strongest, smartest, fastest … and that, is what defines me." She smirked, once more blurring as the group struggled to keep up with her speed. "Out of every gem type that's ever been created, ONLY HESSONITES have proven that they're the best of the best!"
SLING
And faster than the eye could blink, Garnet was split in half. "Not … again …"
Poof
And two gems fell to the ground. "A Ruby and Sapphire … I was right, and I'm disappointed." She sighed as she raised her sword. "An abomination of a fusion."
"TAKE THAT BACK!" In a blinding fury, Pearl tried to stab at them, a rainbow like energy coming from her spear, only for the prisms to knock her off balance with a blast.
"What's even sadder is this Pearl is probably the most impressive gem you have in your line up." Hessonite sighed. "I have no idea how the organics can put up with such useless defenders. You're only slightly superior to these mediocre organics."
"Oh, we'll show you mediocre!" Luz shouted as she attempted to swing at the woman, who simply speeded her way past the girl, and with an open face palm, slammed Luz in the ground.
"Yawn, It's not even worth the effort to hit you. Red, Lexi, fire at will." Hessonite rolled her eyes.
"LEAVE MY LUZ ALONE!" Amity shouted multiple balls of flames, which Hessonite avoided or blocked.
"Might as well get two rocks with one injector. Incinerate her too." She spoke up.
Gus tried to raise his hand for an illusion, but a light hand shoved it back down. "!|*,^€£z." Too risky.
"Wait, you're trying to help me?" He asked. "I thought you liked killing organics?"
")*(&)*>." We like killing organics in general. Fun ones we prefer moving around and being entertaining.
"..I'm not sure if I wanted to know that." Gus shivered.
"Hello, we don't got all day." Hessonite pointed to the downed Luz and Amity. "Kill the organics so I can go back to razing the planet."
Two began glowing with beams of energy …
Ping
… Before one shot bounced. They all stared at the barrier of light that protected Luz and Amity. "… What?" Hessonite asked the cube prism.
"*{€,!\>\£.€."
"What do you mean you like the one with the sword?! You just met this organic a few seconds ago!" The gem screamed.
"Oh right." Gus muttered. "Almost forgot that Luz traded palisman hate for gem love." According to his prism, or Spotchy according to Hessonite, apparently he got along great with Luz when they all almost died during the curse incident.
">]!|^]!\£."
"£'whxhowge!"
"*{!|€,%*\'w?"
"… I think they're debating taste." Gus muttered.
"Luz, we are REALLY running low on options here!" Amity cried out. "The gems are useless and we can't fight her head on! At the speeds she's going we'd probably need something like Amuck or LAW."
"How much time can we buy until Lucci gets here?" Luz asked.
KABOOM
"Not enough!" Hunter cried out as they heard the explosions from outside.
"Then we'll have to deal with this ourselves." Luz took out two glyphs. "I have a crazy, insane, and probably life threatening idea!"
"Try out random glyphs and hope they work?" Willow asked, trying to mend her wounds. "… Go for it."
"Amity, do you trust me!?" Luz called out.
"Always!" Amity shouted … before Luz stuck a glyph on her face.
"Then I pray to titan that I don't regret this!" Luz slapped a glyph on her own, and slammed both their forehead together as a pink and blue blur of light covered their entire body.
========================================================================
They groaned, feeling a dull headache in the back of their head. Some sort of strain building up slowly. "Pain …" Ugh, is this what it's like to have a hangover?Maybe, folks don't exactly drink from what I remember.
"How …" She/They turned to the confused Hessonite. "What are …"
"What's what …" They/She asked? Why does everyone always look at me like I'm the weirdo? Hey, us weirdos stick together, and out of all of them, you're by far the cutest of them all. "Aww, thank you … wait." Who said that?
"Luz …" They heard Willow ask in confusion. "What was that Glyph for?"
"I designed it as a way to share and expand magic between two people, make it grow stronger based on both's energy levels.." That's not not my voice.
"Blleee." Boscha was probably saying something along the lines of 'anything times zero is still zero'. Definitely deserves to be tased. How am I hearing your voice when you're not moving your mouth…also where is your mouth…as well as the rest of your body?
"Right here?" Wait, her/their mouth didn't feel right.
"Forget this." Hessonite grumbled, rushing forward with a stab. It was weird, there would normally be moving at superspeed, and from what she/they could guess, she was… but it was like her eyes made everything slow down a little, so as Hessonite went in for a chest wound, she/they were able to move with a reflex she/they didn't know she/they had.
Did we just develop ultra instinct? Ultra what now?
"Uhh … how did they do that?" Hunter asked.
"They … no, I dodged it … what?" Nothing was making sense.
Boscha made a gurgling noise as she moved her mouth. "You … idiots … fused."
"... We WHAT!?" She… They… yeah, it was probably a they now… felt their arms and body. They were significantly taller than Luz and Amity, actually managing to tower over Hessonite a little in terms of height. Their form was solid, unlike Pudding and Amuck, with what looked like a lightly tanned skin color, along with what they could see as long, flowing, lightest red and pink hair. Is… is this us… is this what our children would look like?Right, kids! Almost forgot that was a thing-SWORD!
They ducked under the blade, moving around as the sword began picking up speed faster and faster. "You little …"
"Hah, you can't touch us!" They shouted with glee. "For we … are … Lumity!"
"Luz, do NOT take over the fusion name, just give it up!" Gus shouted.
"It's our fusion, and we get to name it whatever we want!" They announced as they jumped above another swing of a blade. Finally, a victory!Score one for us. "Now, what are you gonna do now Hessonite? You're not gonna cut me with that puny blade!"
The orange gem growled, holding out their other hand and forming a second blade. "What about this one?"
"...Maybe!" Lumity winced as they barely avoided their neck getting sliced. Dodging isn't going to last forever, we need to think long term. What can we do power wise? You're out of abominations, so I don't think we'll be able to form any without Lucci in the mix. And I can't offer any energy on my end for a magic boost. We have to try something! I'm going to attempt to make a fireball!
Thinking clearly, Lumity took in a deep breath, and waved their hand in the air for a fire spell… and the magic circle formed, a glyph appeared within the flames… not just a fire glyph… but an ice glyph mixed in with it. With no time to ponder what that would mean, Lumity casted the spell off, where firechains formed and wrapped around hessonite.
"Hah, you think a little heat can bother me! I've been through hotter… why is it getting cold?" Hessonite asked in confusion. "It's a little chilly…and-
Fwoosh
The gem was encased in an icy pillar. "... Why wouldn't plant be involved? It's stuff growing out of the ground?" Lumity asked no one in particular. "That's what Lucci's gem enhances." I'm more familiar with fire spells than plant spells. Maybe it's just working with what it has available, like you do.
"Gaahh." The headache returned. Luz, I don't feel too good…well I actually feel better than I ever have in my life and I love that I can share this feeling with you and only you for once, but I feel like I'm slipping, and the glyph symbol is fading. We're a gemless fusion, we're held together by tiny threads as it is. Looks like magic just sped up the process.
The ice began to crack, Hessonite's face contorting into rage behind the cold sheet. "I don't know how the HELL you made me feel so hot and cold at the same time… or even what the name of the stars you are… but I will not tolerate any more setbacks!" Hessonite began charging forwards at super speed again.
"Ghost, we need you!" Pulling out their Palisman, they were barely able to dodge out of the way. "We're gonna need every bit of firepower you can give us!"
"Mew!" Only because you have Amity inside of you! If Luz falls out and gets stabbed, I'm not libel to save her! So that's what they're always talking about… somehow knowing for sure makes it sting a little less.I'll help change their minds eventually, now come on! They made a massive spell circle. "FIRE!" They shouted … as white flames rushed forward.
Hessonite screamed, clutching their body. "IT BURNS! IT BURNS!" They got out, moaning in agony as they tried to stomp it out.
"Amethyst, Pearl, beat them up while they're down!" She/they shouted.
"Don't have to tell me twice!" The purple gem rolled up into the ball and collided with the homeworlder, smashing them into a control panel and Pearl fired her laser.
"@#(@&!)!"
"">>>:@_+~"
"{!#{>?
Apparently, the prisms took concern of that, if the building lasers were any indication. "Guess their liking of Luz only goes so far." Gus observed. "I hope you two have a decent backup plan!"
Sweet potato, how are you holding up? I have at least one last good attack in me, after that, I don't think this form is going to hold. Then let's make something flashy and bail while looking for another room to break. Something big and flashy huh….Lighting mixed in with some blinding fireworks? Bingo!
They swung around Ghost, making a giant circle. "Asta lavista, Hessonite!" Lumity shouted as they blasted it forward, making the prisms misfire and shoot randomly. "Grab Garnet, Boscha, and Willow!" They shouted as they began to slip apart. Nice … while it lasted …
========================================================================
Lucci held off another onslaught … and another … and another … These things had gotten wise, switching out to make sure there was always enough fire on Lucci to force him into defense. "Annoying …" He growled out. This entire day was somehow more irritating than the past five months on earth alone. Here he was fighting for a planet he barely cared about against an entire species of people he wished he never knew about. The announcement just kept piling on and on, and he had finally reached his boiling point.
"You morons are just another excuse that keeps me away from my home, away from my family!" He shouted as he sped through another prism, the flames washing over his glowing pink body, the adrenaline pumping faster and faster and kept him from feeling any of the heat.
":}{"+)%>)%)$##@<<>$#{}," So many of them shouted as they stopped firing, switching to a massive wall of energy that rammed against his shield, meeting it and pushing him back.
"Oh can it will you!?" He shouted as he formed a ball of spikes, spinning it rapidly and threw it against the barrier, shattering it like glass. "I never knew I could hate something more than my own sperm donor, but you're really pushing for that number one spot! At least my womb donor has the courtesy of being dead!" He grabbed Sugar and put her into axe mode, swinging her and forming a giant pink slash that cut a whole roll of those shiny machines in half.
"}{{>{$#!" Followed by five more rolls taking their place and blasting his unprotected back.
"You …" This was getting nowhere. They were too tough for his biggest widespreads and ranged attacks, but there were too many for his powerhouse ones. "I need to gather them all up in one place. Sugar, bubble wand mode."
"Hsss." She complied as Lucci got to work, creating bubble after bubble as he aimed at the prisms, trapping them and moving as many as he could to one spot, even as they continued to blast at his chest. "Hssh." I wouldn't believe this moment if I wasn't seeing it with my own eyes.
"You better believe it Sugar! I may hate this world, but I'm going back home with one hell of a story to tell!" He laughed as she continued to collect more and more prisms, speeding right through all the blasts. "They call me monster, devil, menace, delinquent, insane! Well how many sane people can claim they live a life as fun as mine!?" Lucci continued to cackle as he soared through the stars, running across the ship as he launched off it again, gaining substantial distance between him and the remaining prisms. "Okay, that's as many as I can get in one spot … did we ever test fest for 'biggest exploding weapon'? Because so far it's just hexagon shields whenever we need a big target gone."
"Hsss." No, no we did not.
"Oh well, no time like the present!" Using the prism bubbles he collected, he used Sugar to direct them all in one place, forming those hundred upon hundreds of bubbles into one singular, large container, and aimed it right at the remaining prisms, which were right in front of the ship. "Yo, you tacky excuses for a lightshow! Have a taste of the painbow, courtesy of the Boiling Isles one and only Lucifer Clawthorne!"
... Huh?
… They watched as the prisms exploded on impact … but nothing crackled with power. "... What?"
"Sssh." Right, Spinel was ranting something once. "Ssh." About how in space there's no sound.
"Aw, that kind of takes away the whole climatic tone I was going for." He pouted. This was going to be one of those stories he told his future children… whether they were biological or adopted was still up for debate.
"Hhss." Take the win. We destroyed the annoying prisms.
"True." Lucci nodded. "Knocked them right into the ship."
"Hss …ss" Yep … right in the docking bay.
"Which held the only escape route for our friends …" The two of them were silent for a moment. "....I didn't kill my friends, did I?"
"Hiss." With any luck, you only killed Luz.
They watched as multiple little silent explosions rang out.
"Hhhsss." And if you hurry, you can save everyone barring her.
"One of these days, you're going to know your hate is unjustified."
"Hhss." She killed a palisman.
"It's not dead, it's just an egg."
"Hhhss?" Then why hasn't it hatched?
"It's just taking tim-Not the time to argue with you." He rolled his eyes, speeding his way to the exploding ship, crashing through a wall and flying through a hallway. "Luz! Guys! If you're still alive, say something!"
"Lucci!" The girl shouted, carrying a tired looking Amity, along with Gus carrying an out of it Boscha, Hunter carrying a hurt Willow, Amethyst directing a still cracked Jasper(probably should've healed her before taking her into space) and Pearl holding Garnet's gems. "We need to leave right now!"
"Yeah, exploding ship, I noticed."
BOOM
"Oh, I can hear it now, lovely."
"Well, that and-"
"ORGANIC!" An annoying voice shouted.
"Turns out the gem we were fighting is probably at Orchid to LAW level of raw power, with prisms." Luz laughed dryly. "And we were able to hold her off, but at the cost of royally pissing her to her breaking point… Oh and I did a gemless fusion with Amity and it was amazing and now I'm kind of hoping it changed Amity's mind about having kids."
"Wait, I thought that changed around the time your sister was born?"
"No, she loves Dana, but not enough to change her entire world view about it."
"Ah, then congrats." He smiled. "Happy to hear-"
"Yeah yeah, woopdie do, can we leave the exploding ship now!?" Amethyst screamed as another explosion rang out.
"Gotcha… although since we don't have a ship anymore, we're going to have to crash land via bubble." He stated. "Not sure how much of the impact we could take, maybe If glyphon helped-"
"You idiots really don't know when to shut up!" They turned their heads to an orange and furious looking gem, who was no doubt Hessonite. "Don't you get it, you're all going to die, and I'm going to make sure it happens, even if I have to stay on this doomed ship to make it so!" The lady began moving at super speed, at a speed that looked like it matched his own.
"Not today, sunshine." He growled, creating his shield as he sped towards her, matching his weapon with her sword. "I took out your precious little 'babies', and now you're next on the list!"
"You … you took out my reason to keep moving on." She growled. "And I think I'll return the favor!" The gem attacked his shield, forcing his attention on the weapon. "Good luck rescuing these organics while focusing all your energy on me!!"
"Good point." He punched her in the chest. "Leave the psycho to explode, we're getting out of here while we can."
"Not if I can help it!" She sped past him, grabbing onto the weak looking Boscha and Amity, holding them both by the necks. "I may not get out of here alive, but I can be content with you losing, even if it's just a little!" And began to squeeze them.
"Don't you dare!" He sped forward, slamming her into a wall, but her grip didn't lighten a bit.
"Or what!? Our speeds are comparable to each other, but move one inch closer, and I can snap both their necks… you only have enough speed to save ONE of them, not both!" She cackled maniacally. "You may be impressive above normal criteria, but you're still an organic, you're still flawed, and no matter how much you try to deny it, you'll always be weak in one way or another!" The faces of both Boscha and Amity turned purple.
"C-Crystal…." His angel called out to him. "I…..I…..I…love…..you…"
"YOU THINK LOVE CAN SAVE YOU!? NOTHING CAN SAVE YOU! I AM A HESSONITE! NO GEM IN THIS UNIVERSE IS STRONGER THAN ME!"
Lucci's eyes twitched….and he laughed. "Hahahahahaha… heh no gem you say… no gem you say?" He stepped back a little… and felt his form get bigger… taller… muscular. "Bold of you to say that… to a Diamond."
"....What…" Before she could comprehend what he had just said, he grabbed her by the head….and he screamed.
"YOU THINK YOU'RE STRONGER THAN ME!? YOU DON'T KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD STRENGTH!" He shouted with everything he could, focusing his destructive voice directly into the woman's body, making her shave, her form reverberate and glitch, pouring every single feeling of anger and destruction he had into her. "YOU THINK YOU KNOW HATE!? TRY BEING A HUMAN!"
She looked like she wished to scream … poof ….only to fall onto the ground as a gem. "... Did you just scream her into submission?" Gus asked.
"Rewop s'kniP saw taht ... taht." Jasper muttered in a daze.
"I … am … so … in love." Boscha mumbled with a dazed and dopey look on her face. Well…that made up for about half of today's craptaculer events.
BOOM BOOM
"And we're so dead if we don't get out of here right now!" Hunter shouted. "Lucci, bubble, NOW!"
"Got it!" He used bubble want mode to encase everyone. "Just so you know, I'm only forty percent sure of where Gravesfield is from here, so where we land is going to be a bit off!"
"As long as it's not the middle of the ocean, we'll be fine!" Luz shouted as they began to fall.
KABOOM
========================================================================
Hessonite reformed, feeling very odd. "I had the strangest restoration … I believed Pink Diamond was somehow inside of a worthless organic." How bizarre. That explosion must've been bigger than she anticipated if she managed to hallucinate such an uncanny scenario.
"Middle of a desert… well I did say anything besides the middle of an ocean." The voice of that… organic… that inconceivable sword wielding abomination spoke up… they were still alive!? "Everyone okay?"
"My limbs finally work." The three eyed organic's voice groaned out. "So I guess I'm good enough. Yo half a witch, how's the gapping stomach wound?"
"Fuck you tri eyes." The bulky witch gasped out in pain.
"Well she's fine enough." The short one shook his head. "I guess we won….I feel like something's off though."
"Won …" Hessonite slowly stood. "You think … you won?"
"... WHO GRABBED HER GEM!?" The blonde organic shouted. "Clawthorne!"
"I just saved everyone's butt from her, you think I would go out of my way to save her!?" The lying, confusing and treacherous pink figure that made her hallucinate shouted.
"Guys, it doesn't matter how she got here! Just focus on keeping her down!" The purple haired one shouted, shaking her head. "You're surrounded, your prisms are gone, and so is your ship. You have nothing left to hurt us, you might as well go in a bubble quietly to save us all the trouble."
"You think I'll surrender … just like that?" She slowly stood up. "How … dare you assume that-"
Smack
An orange fist hit her, knocking Hessonite back. "KniP morf ... yawa yats." The corrupted Jasper spoke up.
"...Huh?" Hessonite asked.
"..... Okay Lucci, the backwards talk is getting a little annoying, mind fixing her gem finally?" The sword wielder asked.
"I just saved us all from an army of space prisms and reentry into a fiery ball. I will not be held responsible if she goes ballistic." They stated, licking their hand. "Don't make me regret this." And slapped the Jasper's face, making it glow…and heal?!
"Thank you… my Diamond." The Jasper, finally speaking clearly, bowed their head and kneeled.
"... I regret this." The pink organic stated immediately. The hallucination she just experienced…no…no….that can't be…
"NO! I won't accept this! I won't accept….this has to be a trick!" She shouted.
"Don't you mock my Diamond with your insolent denial!" The jasper shouted. "What other creature is capable of being that ruthless, that unforgiving, that powerful than one of the Diamonds?!"
"... Trust me Lucci, it's taking a LOT of restraint to not make a comparison joke." The blonde organic spoke.
"I will punch you if you even dare." The liar glared.
"See, they justify it now with rage for a single bit of insubordination from their subjects!" The jasper shouted. "Don't you deny it, this is Pink Diamond!"
"No…no….no!" She screamed. "There has to be another explanation…some way to deny these accusations!"
")*(&()*" She turned up… seeing a white prism floating above her.
"SPLOTCHY!" She cried out, rubbing her face against her most likely last baby! "You're still alive! Mama's not going to let you go ever again!"
"How did everything get through?" The buff organic asked.
"Quick, before they enact more absurdities, scan the curely maned pink one!" She pointed to the liar. "Scan them, show me what they really are!"
"@0@*$." Already did, same gem of the lady who locked me away. Pink Diamond, Rose Quartz.
"....WHAT!?" Hessonite shouted. "But, Pink Diamond… Rose shattered… they can't be the same…"
"No, they very much are." The defective pearl raised her hand… shifting into… the image of ROSE QUARTZ! "It was all a ruse for Pink to trick the Diamonds to leave her alone."
"....WHY DID YOU SAY THAT!?" The thick organic yelled.
"I'm still under the influence of Vee's emotions… her honesty is quite infectious."
"... Did Rose really have so much fluffy hair?" The short organic asked.
"The softest and fluffiest hair all around." The pearl said in a love sick daze all pearls had for their masters. "There was no creature more beautiful than my Rose…"
"You mean MY diamond!" Jasper cried out.
"No…no…no you can't…You … you're alive!" She shouted. "On earth!?"
"Long story I'm sick of telling." The liar… Pink Diamond growled. "Now if you excuse me, I'm going to put you in a bubble forever now."
"No, wait…I…" She royally screwed herself. She threatened and tried to stab a diamond, she was going to pay for this. "I…I…" She had no excuse… and no help on her way…
Vrooom
"Honestly, it's a miracle you can function without me." Her peridot spoke… from Emerald's spare ship and caught her in a tractor beam. "It really is a burden to be the smartest one on the ship."
"Wait, what?" The organics asked.
"Oh right….there was a square headed peridot on the ship." The short one noted. "....Probably should've mentioned that earlier.
"...WHAT?! The organics repeated.
"We're going to go report this now. Good day." And without any time for the organics to process what happened and stop them, they vanished.
========================================================================
Luz looked up at the sky. "... So they're gonna go get an even bigger army, aren't they?" Luz asked.
"Probably." Pearl bluntly stated.
"The Diamonds are going to come to earth." Luz asked again.
"No doubt." Amethyst shrugged.
"We just landed into a bigger fire that we're nowhere near close to putting out, didn't we?" Luz asked once more.
"Yes, yes you did." Jasper nodded. "But I have no doubt that my Diamond will make the best out of whatever circumstances that may come." … Right, that was weird.
"...So… you're just going to… accept me as Pink Diamond?" Lucci asked.
"If this is the form you take, I'll accept it." They bowed. "You haven't lost your ferocity or passion, even when limiting yourself like this. I will follow you to the ends of the universe and back, serve you in whatever way that you wish of me, and will be loyal no matter what may come next."
"...I'm down for a personal servant, but we are NOT having her on the list." Boscha bluntly stated.
"Trust me, when everything blows over, we're working on it." Lucci sighed. "Alright, first on the list, and not the cherry pass list, getting back home … wherever that is."
Vwosh
… They turned to the black jet that landed next to them, opening and revealing a very effeminate looking man. "Boiling Isles Witches and associates?"
"...How afraid should we be that you know that much about us?" Amity asked.
"Just enough to know that I'm your quickest way back to Gravesfield.." The man nodded. "Don't worry, none of you are in trouble… at least those of you that aren't these ladies." He pointed to all the gems. "You caused the world quite the scare… and this time those in charge of it have taken notice."
"... Ah." Pearl nodded meekly. "And you would happen to be …"
"The man in charge of all the people you viciously attacked and destroyed." They stated in a passive aggressive far too happy for comfort tone.
"... First human besides your mom and Nana to scare me." Willow muttered.
"It's not like he doesn't have a point… we're all guilty." Hunter spoke up… and there was an unusually dark look in his eyes. "Sometimes you just have to accept what's coming to you and pay the piper."
"...Even for a stick in the mud, that was dark even for you." Lucci called out.
He shook his head. "A bit drained from the fight, feeling pesimistic." Hunter said as he walked to the plane.
"...We can worry about that later." Luz shook her head. First things first was dealing with whatever this man had to say… and then finally… FINALLY … get her friends home. As much as Luz hated to admit it… it was time for the adventure to end.
