Rain began to fall as the crowd scattered in search of cover.
While everyone rushed about, the man and the woman were soon drenched, the two simply looking at each other.
"Have you been waiting long?" she asked with a smile as she approached him.
She was a head shorter than him, and with her standing this close, the man had to look down at her.
Then she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him.
Time seemed to slow as the rain poured over their bodies.
The kiss felt like electricity coursing through them as they lost themselves in it for what felt like an eternity.
After a minute, they finally broke apart, both of them breathless.
"The wait was worth it," the man said, his voice deep and his breathing heavy before kissing her once more.
His hands slowly trailed around her waist as the two left the bridge and headed toward the house they had bought.
