The land surrounding the White Citadel was not particularly welcoming. Far beyond its outer walls, the terrain gave way to an enormous canyon that stretched across the horizon. Towering cliffs of reddish-brown stone rose above deep ravines, their surfaces marked by countless years of erosion. Some formations stood alone like enormous pillars, while others connected across narrow ridges that looked ready to collapse under the slightest pressure.
It was a beautiful place, in its own way, and there was almost nothing living nearby. More importantly, there was almost nothing Kaiser could complain about losing, which made it an excellent place to practice destructive magic.
