"Let me go! Let me go!" Bobby Suarez shouted in terror.
The people below laughed maliciously. "You really want us to let you go?"
As the ground got farther and farther away and he flipped through the air, the man grew more and more frightened—so much so that he wet himself. Then his stomach lurched, and he vomited midair.
His miserable state sent the masked wizards into peals of laughter. Some cast spells to twist Suarez into grotesque shapes, others casually set fire to nearby tents, and one released a blast of green light, illuminating the entire scene.
The nearby wizards screamed in fear and scattered in panic. Sirius burned with rage. He instantly transformed back into human form, drew his wand, and was about to intervene—when suddenly, a voice shouted:
"Now!"
A deep voice rang out in the darkness. In an instant, bursts of spellfire came shooting in from all directions. Members of the Order of the Phoenix and Aurors appeared from thin air, completely surrounding the masked wizards.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
"Stupefy!"
"Expelliarmus!"
Several masked wizards stiffened and collapsed; others had their wands flung from their hands, smacking their comrades in the face. Realizing what was happening, many turned and bolted.
"It's a trap!"
Someone screamed, their voice cracking with panic. He tried to Disapparate on the spot—spinning three times before falling flat on his face and getting trampled by his own ally.
Unbeknownst to them, a large Anti-Apparition Jinx had been set up around the area. There was no escape.
With the masked wizards losing control, Suarez plummeted from the sky, screaming. Just before he hit the ground, a silver spell caught him, gently lowering him to safety.
Everyone's eyes followed the light—there stood the towering figure of Albus Dumbledore with a cold and furious expression on his face, striking fear into every heart present.
"Avada Kedavra!"
One of the masked wizards lashed out in desperation. Dumbledore flicked his wand, and a burning tent suddenly spread out like a giant shield in front of the Order members. The Killing Curse struck it and blew it to pieces.
"Stupefy!"
"Crucio!"
Sirius leapt into the fray. Spellfire flashed across the clearing. The masked wizards fought back as they fled. One Order member was hit by the Cruciatus Curse, collapsing in agony with a blood-curdling scream.
"Enough!"
Dumbledore roared, raising his wand. An invisible force surged outward, instantly suppressing all remaining resistance from the masked attackers. The battlefield quickly fell silent.
"Thank you, Dumbledore," said Kingsley Shacklebolt, wiping blood from his face and striding forward. "You're under arrest—all of you. Get ready to spend the rest of your lives in Azkaban."
He reached for the mask of the wizard standing at the front, ready to reveal who they really were.
Grover Goyle immediately widened his eyes as he watched the hand reach closer and closer to him. Instinctively, he cast a pleading glance at Lucius Malfoy.
Kingsley followed his gaze, and when he saw the faintly glowing hair beneath the man's hood, his eyes flickered.
Even though the mask hadn't yet been pulled off, Kingsley had a strong feeling—he already knew who it was.
"Looks like we've caught a big fish," Kingsley sneered. "Not even the Imperius Curse can save you this time!"
Without hesitation, he let go of Grover Goyle and strode toward Lucius Malfoy. Just then, a terrified scream rang out nearby.
Kingsley turned sharply. He saw a man burst out from behind a tent, fall hard to the ground, then scramble away on all fours in panic.
"Run! The leprechauns have gone mad!" the man screamed.
"What did you say?"
Arthur Weasley grabbed him, trying to question him.
The next second, dozens of leprechauns, now massively grown in size, came charging out. Their eyes were glowing red, their fangs were exposed, and they were swinging their lanterns—now as large and heavy as spiked clubs— violently at the crowd.
The rampaging leprechauns weren't targeting anyone in particular. Some slashed at Order of the Phoenix members' legs with their sharp claws, others latched onto Death Eaters and bit into their ears, and many simply grabbed people and hurled them into the air.
The Order members had at least some ability to defend themselves. But most of the ordinary witches and wizards had no idea how to react—they were only able to scream and flee, with many young children separated from their parents in the chaos.
"Rescue them—quickly!"
Remus Lupin shouted, casting a red spell that blasted away one of the leprechauns, saving a sobbing little boy.
Dumbledore was forced to release the pressure he was exerting on the masked wizards. He raised his wand, sending a dazzling burst of light from the center of the camp.
"Go!"
Lucius Malfoy growled. The masked wizards took the opportunity to break out of the encirclement, scattering in all directions.
By now, screams echoed throughout the camp—leprechauns were attacking madly everywhere.
Lucius Malfoy sprinted at top speed. After dashing past several tents, he felt he had exited the Anti-Apparition Jinx zone. Just as he prepared to Disapparate, a sudden chill ran down his spine.
Without thinking, he ducked and rolled to the side—just in time.
A spell shot over his head, blowing apart a pillar in front of him.
"You're not getting away!" Sirius Black's furious voice rang out behind him, as a blinding red blast erupted from his wand.
Lucius cursed under his breath and, without looking back, cast a Shield Charm, then ran even faster.
He absolutely couldn't allow himself to be captured in this state. But as long as he could shake off Sirius Black, he could ditch the mask and cloak, blend into the crowd as a regular spectator—even Dumbledore wouldn't be able to prosecute him without evidence.
But Sirius was chasing him like a true hound, relentless and fast. Spell after spell flew past him, until suddenly, an invisible blade tore through the air, leaving a deep gash in Lucius's shoulder.
Lucius let out a scream of pain and nearly fell. He clutched his wounded shoulder and continued to flee, feeling the footsteps behind him drawing closer and closer—the sense of danger made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end.
Suddenly, Lucius saw two Ministry Aurors up ahead, engaged in a fight with a leprechaun. He quickly tapped his throat with his wand and then shouted in a completely altered voice:
"Help! Someone's trying to kill me!"
Sirius let out a furious roar behind him, but the Aurors, confused by what they saw—one man clearly chasing another—reacted instinctively. One of them immediately raised his wand and aimed it at Sirius.
"Expelliarmus!"
Sirius rolled and dodged swiftly. The red spell beam grazed his hair and hit a tree trunk behind him. Lucius took the opportunity to leap over a pile of firewood and escape.
Sirius yelled at the attacking Auror: "Idiot! That guy's a Death Eater!"
"What?" The Auror froze, caught off guard.
Sirius had no time to explain. He dashed past them and resumed the chase. His stormy grey eyes now burned with a dangerous and unwavering light, so intense that the younger Auror who tried to stop him shrank back instinctively.
Two shadows, one pursuing the other, charged into the woods beside the camp. Spells flew, sparks exploded, cloaks snapped in the cold wind.
"I know it's you, Malfoy!" Sirius shouted. "You're not getting away this time!"
Malfoy gritted his teeth, but said nothing and flung a Cruciatus Curse behind him. He staggered behind a tree, his wound was burning with pain and his breathing became harsh under the mask.
Sirius gripped his wand tightly and swept it forward. Flames burst out, setting nearby bushes and dry branches ablaze, forcing Malfoy out of hiding.
Sirius lunged—but suddenly, a spell shot out from behind and struck him in the back.
Stunned, Sirius looked at Lucius ahead of him. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. In an instant, his body shrank rapidly, and all that remained on the ground was a heap of robes.
Lucius Malfoy stared in shock, unable to react—until a squirrel darted out from beneath the robes, sprang up a tree, and with a few swift leaps, vanished.
