I plate the food and place the two plates on the kitchen table, naturally, her portion is much bigger than mine, the glutton. I call her over from her room.
"Dinner's ready your highness!" There's a brief moment of silence before she replies.
"Would you please stop calling me that!?" She retorts, coming from her room into the kitchen.
"I cook for you, clean up after you and would give my life to protect you. Who's to say you aren't a Princess with me as your loyal servant?" I jest.
"Anyone with common sense? You're my dad, that's all you are and all I'll ever need you to be."
"... Oh stop, you're making me blush." Though I joke, what she just said really does touch me.
She rolls her eyes with a thin smile as she takes a seat at the table, the same seat she always does, and starts eating.
I sit where I always do as well and begin eating too.
