These impressive attributes reminded Matthew of days long past.
Back then, the sky was filled with mutated wyverns, like clouds of red firestorms of destruction.
The scenes of annihilation raining from above—
Were once the nightmares of most players.
Powerful attack strength.
Very fast movement speed.
And extremely nasty ranged attacks!
That's right—mutated wyverns could launch flesh energy blasts using the symbiotes on their tails.
The damage from these blasts was equivalent to a Level 3 Fireball and came with a concussive slow effect.
Once they got on you, escape was only a fantasy.
Excellent in melee, powerful in ranged, and a rare airborne unit.
No wonder their data evaluation ranked them so highly.
As the fierce mutated wyverns approached, Bay Territory's soldiers quickly took up battle positions.
Shuyou recognized the mutated wyverns and knew how terrifying they were. She immediately turned to Matthew and said:
"We absolutely can't let them get close. They can launch explosive ranged attacks strong enough to destroy ships."
Matthew calmly nodded and gave Shuyou a reassuring glance before saying to the eagerly waiting Yaya:
"Yaya! Launch!"
Yaya's figure slowly vanished. On a deck where no one was paying attention, her silver true dragon body rose into the sky.
Her tangible pressure made every soldier feel honored and gaze at her back with reverence.
Matthew, sensing this scene,
Faintly perceived thoughts and emotions drifting from each soldier toward Yaya in the air.
This was something Matthew became gradually aware of as his understanding of divinity deepened.
With a further level in Destiny Power, the effects shown through data visualization would grow stronger, and Matthew would see more clearly.
He raised his "Five Fireball Staff" and looked at the hundreds of mutated wyverns in the sky.
Elio took a deep breath, activated her Commander Skill "Issue Orders," and her clear voice spread across the fleet:
"Air battle protocol initiated! Stop their approach! Take them down!"
Ordinary enchanted crossbows were ineffective against such large creatures.
Their arrows had enough penetration but not enough killing power.
Fortunately, the Bay Navy was prepared. Upon hearing the air combat command, the officers opened the compartments storing heavy crossbows.
The well-trained soldiers rushed to their stations with maximum speed.
They grabbed weapons, assembled them, and began adjustments quickly.
But the mutated wyverns had appeared too suddenly and moved too fast.
In the blink of an eye, they were only 300 meters from the fleet.
"Roar...!"
A deafening roar burst from the dense clouds above.
Yaya broke through the clouds, diving at them with incredible speed.
Her dragon's might, like a physical force, threw the mutated wyverns into chaos.
But these creatures, shaped by the brutal survival and mutation of the Hero Continent,
Recovered completely after just a few seconds of confusion.
They were even tougher than the wyverns Yaya had fought before.
Still, all Yaya needed was that brief pause!
A blazing flame built up in her mouth and shot straight into the center of the mutated wyverns.
Those hit by the flame breath turned from red to black and finally became drifting ash.
Half-consumed by fire, their broken corpses spiraled downward.
The surrounding air itself seemed ignited, rippling with distorted waves.
Over ten mutated wyverns were instantly killed, more than thirty wounded, and the rest fell into deeper chaos.
They had never encountered such a terrifying attack before!
Before they could react, Yaya's powerful dragon body dove straight into them.
She spread her wings wide and spun into the fray.
Several slower wyverns didn't react in time and were hit head-on.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Over ten mutated wyverns were smashed away, screeching as they crashed into the sea.
Their bones broken and tendons torn—they were a pitiful sight.
With her Legendary-tier strength breaking the Extraordinary limit of 30, Yaya utterly dominated them.
Her massive 20-meter-long body was five to six times larger than the mutated wyverns.
She rampaged through their flock, clawing and biting them down one by one.
One by one, the mutated wyverns screamed as they fell, splashing into the sea.
These ferocious beasts gritted through Yaya's dragon might and launched a fierce counterattack.
Unfortunately, their usually effective bites and claws did nothing to her.
Her tough, smooth scales blocked their fangs and talons.
And every casual strike from Yaya was more than their bodies could handle.
Even when they pierced her scales, they met an even tougher muscle layer beneath.
And Yaya, enraged by the pain, would specially "greet" these stronger ones—crushing their skulls with a single claw.
The most despairing thing for the wyverns was that any wound they managed to cause—
Healed in just a dozen breaths, with new sturdy scales quickly regrowing.
Yaya always applied the most advanced and superior modification tech to enhance her body.
From birth till now, most of her life had been spent refining her physique to become stronger.
She did this because she could feel the ever-present urgency in Matthew's heart.
That crushing pressure, those fleeting images of destruction, all pushed her to grow stronger, faster.
Yaya never said it, but she trained herself mercilessly.
She used her Time Reversal talent and Bay Territory's tens of millions of gold worth of resources—
To modify every inch of her body, turning it into a weapon to the best of her ability.
Stats were merely the foundation of Yaya's combat strength!
10 body-enhancing Extraordinary Feats.
3 Extraordinary Combat Skill Feats.
That's what defined Yaya's true power!
That's why she was far stronger than other true dragons her age!
Others still needed their mothers to protect them.
But Yaya could already challenge Legendary foes!
This was the true nature of the little foodie Yaya, who always munched sweets and snacks!
She was already strong enough to crush these mutated wyverns with ease!
In just three to four minutes,
Over 100 Extraordinary-level mutated wyverns were slain without mercy by Yaya.
Their corpses splashed into the sea, kicking up massive waves.
A few still thrashed on the surface, trying to escape.
Realizing Yaya's terror, the wyverns no longer dared block her and scattered in all directions.
Even then, some still tried to attack from afar.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
As Yaya bit off a wyvern's neck, she was hit by several red flesh-energy orbs.
The bizarre explosions of flesh energy left scorched black marks on her body.
Scarlet light enveloped her form.
Roaring in pain, Yaya flapped her wings and instantly sped up, bursting free from the encirclement.
The incoming flesh-energy blasts were left behind and eventually dispersed in the air.
Seeing Yaya retreat, the wyverns didn't withdraw. Instead, they followed the command echoing in their minds:
"Destroy those ships. Kill them all!"
Watching them regroup and charge again—
Matthew raised a curious eyebrow. His glowing staff pointed into the sky as he muttered:
"Still no wyvern leader? No wonder they're called unfinished products."
Fireball LV5!
Quick Cast LV5!
Spell Empowerment LV5!
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Spiraling fireballs launched from Matthew's glowing staff.
With blazing trails, they soared at lightning speed toward the wyverns.
Clustered and unable to dodge in time, the mutated wyverns were slammed by the fireballs.
"Ding, you dealt 25 (Fireball LV5) + 25 (Spell Empowerment LV5) + 20 (Candle Dragon Body fire spell bonus) + 13 (from 37 Intelligence) + 10 (Five Fireball Staff bonus) = 93 magic damage."
"Spell penetration check..."
"13:7, check passed!"
"You subtracted 93 HP from the mutated wyvern. It is severely injured..."
The basin-sized fireball exploded!
A massive mutated wyvern was critically hit!
Before it understood what happened, its vision darkened, its chest ached, and it fell.
Before it could crash, a second fireball struck it.
Its entire chest exploded into scorched chunks of meat.
"Ding, you dealt 93 damage. Actual HP deducted: 57. Mutated wyvern slain."
"Ding, you killed an Extraordinary Magic Creature. Restored 80 mana, gained 4,000 Destiny Power."
With three kill prompts popping up, Matthew, having just shown a small taste of his power, calmly lowered his staff under Shuyou's stunned gaze.
On the surface, he seemed to be preparing stronger spells. In truth, he was grieving the nearly 50,000 Destiny Power he had lost.
He had nearly forgotten—
Because of Mana Drain, enemies he personally killed would yield far less Destiny Power.
Meeting Shuyou's incredulous stare, Matthew said casually:
"Don't worry. Just share a few modified spell insights, and you can freely learn all our advanced spellcasting techniques."
Shuyou, half amused and half exasperated, nodded in reply.
She naturally understood how convenient it was to learn spell knowledge and techniques in Bay Territory.
But precisely because she knew that, she found Matthew's spellcasting technique just now hard to believe.
Matthew's spellcasting wasn't especially profound.
But it was unexpectedly fast!
Incredibly fast!
As if it came to him as naturally as breathing.
Shuyou could hardly imagine how much effort and time Matthew must have spent mastering high-level spellcasting techniques to such a degree.
The answer: one week.
Back then, with Destiny Power running tight, Matthew voluntarily added several hours of extra training each day.
"Load the ballista..."
"Fire!!"
With Elio's command—
Hundreds of heavy crossbows fired in unison.
Armor-piercing bolts as thick as three fingers spiraled into the sky.
The thirty-some mutated wyverns in the lead were instantly turned into pincushions and dropped limply.
The remaining nearly 300 mutated wyverns still shrieked as they charged forward.
Once they were within 80 meters, they could launch their flesh energy cannons from their tails.
Despite the soldiers' best efforts, they only managed one more volley—killing another twenty or so—before watching helplessly as the wyverns approached.
Elio, taking a deep breath, didn't ask Matthew for support. Instead, before the mutated wyverns got too close, she gave a decisive shout:
"Dragon hunter ballistas, fire!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Thirty long-hidden dragon hunter ballistas revealed their bloodthirsty fangs.
These enchanted armor-piercing bolts, specifically designed for killing large beasts—
Pierced straight through one wyvern's body and even embedded into another.
The sheer destructive power was on full display.
Even so, the mutated wyverns didn't retreat—they pressed on relentlessly.
They lowered their bodies, flapped their wings hard, and swung their tails forward.
Their gruesome mouths formed from flesh-energy cannons expanded wide.
Thick flesh walls contracted rapidly, and special organs drew in surrounding blood and flesh energy. Red energy spheres gathered at their tails.
They were ready to fire!
At that moment, Elio waved toward Liana at the front of the ship.
Liana took a deep breath, then slammed her staff into the center of the magic circle.
The intricate formation lit up, and a chilling cold swept outward.
Eagerly awaiting, little Menglan leapt from the water. With her exceptional innate talent, surging shockwaves rose violently.
Clinging to Menglan's dorsal fin, Li's eyes flashed with golden light.
Her slender hands lifted high, directing the over-ten-meter wave Menglan summoned into the sky.
Liana focused on guiding the magic power of over a dozen casters and formations to touch the rising sea.
Her silver hair flew wildly, and a bitter cold bloomed midair.
The shimmering waves condensed at 50 meters altitude into solid ice, forming a crystal-clear wall.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Caught off guard, several mutated wyverns slammed straight into the thick ice wall.
The wall didn't deal much damage—instead, it formed deep craters and then began falling due to gravity.
Despite the dramatic scene, not a single wyvern died.
But their goal was achieved!
The mutated wyverns were stalled for 7–8 seconds, and their flight speed slowed.
Another volley of bolts screamed through the air.
Watching the 200+ remaining wyverns, Elio gave her next command without hesitation:
"Retreat into the ship! Prepare for defensive combat!"
"Activate protective wards!"
"Activate Dragoon No. 1 Golem and Guardian Golem!"
"All melee units—make sure the crossbows keep firing!"
Even as she spoke, Elio resisted the urge to draw her sword and stepped into the ship.
Beelzebub licked his lips in excitement. His heavy Thunder Armor glowed faintly—he was ready for when those wyverns landed.
Boom!
Boom boom boom!
The ship rocked with the roar of explosions.
Inside, Yudala gripped a railing nervously. Her big eyes burned with frustration as she growled through gritted teeth:
"Damn it! Why can't our cannons fire into the sky?!"
"I swear I'll report this to the lab! They need to invent sky-firing artillery..."
Nearby, Rika chuckled wryly as she checked the heavy crossbows and tried to stay calm:
"I heard in today's internal news that the military lab developed a new magic rifle for the Elves."
"That rifle can produce extraordinary-level damage—good enough for most enemies..."
Hearing the cries of wounded soldiers and seeing gaps torn into the deck—
Yudala, breathing heavily, gritted her teeth and pointed at a massive wyvern soaring past:
"But it's still not enough for monsters like that..."
Rika, recalling her own terrifying memories, nodded silently.
Before she could say more, the deck above suddenly shook violently.
Everyone knew—a mutated wyvern had landed.
